Oh, flipping heck. All that time I spent trying to get the princesses not to use melee weapons…
I take an Nth metal cutlass out of subspace and charge.
If all you need to do is bring them into contact with Nth metal, there's probably a better way than to swordfight.
Nth metal railguns might not work, but I bet the ring can work out how to throw a sword so that it lands blade-first in the target at speeds that can't be dodged or parried.
Throwing a sword is a tricky business, but if the force and angle are automated, aiming is just a matter of math. Not even particularly complex math, as far as a power-ring is concerned.
A sword would do in a pinch, but if you're preparing ahead of time then you'd probably be better off looting a bunch of maces and trying to find a way to detach the heads, so you've got a set of spiked balls that you can slingshot around. Be sure to recollect them after each use though, since they're a bastard to manufacture.
Constructs can't touch Nth Metal, but could you put a
glove on a construct? A big metal gauntlet, maybe? Giant Barbecue tongs?
The thing about a power-ring is that anything you can build as a construct, you can probably also build out of
actual matter if you know you'll need it ahead of time. Subspace pocket means you can store as much shit away as you need to.
What I'm saying is that Paul needs to finally realize the true power of the giant orange glove. Made out of real synthetic leather. 0% coloured light.
Stock up on a couple hundred of them, cuz paul is always running into shit he can't touch with his constructs.
It'd be funnier if he made them green, but Orange would make it harder for people to recognize that his constructs were wearing gloves, so they wouldn't know to target that part.
