I'm guessing it's the former, than the latter.

Remember my theory, regarding there may be a force/embodiment of the "Reed Richards is Useless/Cut Lexington Luthor a Check" keeping humanity from rapid development by Super Science?

In the case of the Sheeda, this theoretical "Suppressor", may very well be acting in the Universe's best interest, to subtly keep those psychopaths bound to one planet.

Well one of their artifacts is a father box. Well, two halves of a fatherbox to be exact. They got it from Aurakles, so it might be 40,000 years out of date with modern New Gods. If one assumes that the New Gods don't have a godnet for updates.

Then again I'm not sure how much lower the New God tech level was 40000 years ago. Somae of the artifacts the New Gods gave Aurakles included a fatherbox, a device of eternal youth and resurrection, and a shapeshifting golem made out of language.

As for their use of the glow, it isn't necessarily Oan level, Qwardians were capable of making yellow rings and they aren't actually in the Oans league.

As for your theory about suppressors, since this fic is using Seven Soldiers stuff, I nominate the Time Tailors as the most likely culprit- They weave together the stories that make up fate. That being the case, theoretically every trope that holds true in Earth-16 is because they enforce that trope.

would you mind if i siged this?
Go ahead.
If he just wanted to help people he'd have dedicated his life to running charity foundations and wiped out world hunger or something.
In a sane world, yes. However, Batman lives in a world where idiots can plausibly claim that they will put out the sun. Making the League have an actual intelligence network and the ability to predict threats and end them before they can do the damage they want to is a better use of time than spending time to do something lots of other people are already doing.

Humanity almost died when John Constantine almost failed to stop the Beast from being released. That's two nearly world ending threats within the space of a year, with no indication that this trend will stop. Batman is desperately needed in the position he is in.

So, in a moderately sensible universe like Earth 16, either the Sheeda are utterly retarded in applying what they have, or the Sheeda don't have the tech.
Or the rules by which the universe operates changed.
"Orange lantern on the other hand is constantly improving, so, congratulations Lantern, you now have a new family of dedicated foes."
He wouldn't interest them as he doesn't develop his own technology, rather copies other people's stuff. Pray they never hear of Hardware.

This goes into spoilers for the game, but The Sheeda actually are the bad end for the mad scientist route.

You develop too many manias and end up pushing humanity onto a path of cyclical self destruction. They -have- the technology, but they can't actually leverage it properly, and so they use it to steal instead of produce. At this point, any nearby universe they might have access to is too well-defended to rob and they lack the resources to go further.

Well, now we know who to blame.

Although, considering what humanity could be capable of in the worst possible ways, it's understandable that they'd want them to develop at a more "steady" pace, rather than eventually destroying themselves because of someone meddling in things they shouldn't have, or becoming monsters of the worst sort.

And if the Time Tailors are indeed involved, like the Sheeda are in this story, it's only a matter of time before Zachary Zor shows his magnificent-bastard bearded face!

The Sheeda are a danger to everyone on the planet, in every era. He may only have turned for selfish reasons, but he still turned nonetheless.
No he didn't, he is still a villain. Temporary teamup between villains and heroes does not a heel face turn make.
small steps!
there MIGHT even be a small ,quiet part of him that has been hoping for an opportunity like this.

i know, i know. call me naive/ childishly optimistic >.>
That is a possibility. It would certainly be easier for him to turn now that he is doing this

Heh, now I'm picturing him and them developing an Inspector Clouseau/Cato relationship, with them periodically randomly attacking him with whatever new widget they've dreamed up. And then breaking off the battle the moment he gets a ring-call.

"Wait a moment - ring?"

"..."

"Something important came up. Pick this up again tomorrow?"

"Sure."

The trouble with that is that he doesn't exactly need money anymore. He's living in his own personal post-scarcity environment, and anything he needs he can pretty much make or gather himself (or more likely send out a droid to gather on his behalf).
Try recognition then.

Specifically brand naming, soon the Sivana name will be known in every household for centuries to come.

If the scarabs are enslaved aliens like in the comics the appropriate term is clone.

We'll just have to wait to see which option Zoat goes with.
From what I remember from the show, Reach Scarabs in Young Justice are primarily nanotech run by an A.I. and are artificial beings built by the Reach in an attempt to counter Green Lanterns. While highly advanced, they are also far less versatile in the variety of constructs they can make or the size of said constructs. They are really just a poor mans power ring, with their primary advantages being that they don't have to recharge from a separate power source, the armor and weapons are not dependent on the mental state of the user, they can be remote operated by Reach officials and they are dedicated weapons and infiltration tools compared to Green Lantern police officers(ones that cant use their power rings to kill at that). Definitely better then any natively developed power armor on earth though.

Is this the least OL has ever done in an update? He had three lines, and didn't do much beside listen. I'm not complaining, the conversation was interesting enough (not sure why Zoat said he'd understand not staying up for it).

He doesn't develop the underlying tech, but he rejiggers it enough that the effect is pretty similar. Possibly his most used stolen tech, crumblers, are vastly different in application to the original. Aside from that, his powers are flexible enough that he could always be a good source of testing their tech on, and he's shown he's willing to improve his fighting style. Plus, there is a win condition against him that doesn't involve murder (taking a ring).

I'm not saying they should take him as a mortal enemy, as to their knowledge he's dating Beautia and isn't inimical to them, but this specific reason doesn't hold up.
"Oh, no, don't worry about that. Some complete lunatic was firing a gravity converter back through the link between the Huntsman and their control centre. Not much left of the place now." He smiles cruelly. "Completely flattened, with hundreds of their people dead."
Attacks sent at the Hunstman hit the control center? What idiot does that?

Also, center.

So, I've been trying to understand why the Sheeda are doing what they're doing, and I think I've got it: Some jerks have been going back in time to strip-mine their planet of resources so there's nothing left for them. Since there's nothing left for them they have no choice but to go back in time to strip-mine the planet of resources. It makes perfect sense.

Well yeah, they think he's dating their sister, so they'd want to be on at least somewhat good terms. And I can totally see Venus calling all of them for dinner mid-fight.

At a guess they don't have much choice; I suspect the Huntsman is generated or projected from there.
I'm willing to accept that it's an unavoidable consequence of the technology that attacks have to go through the projection point when they hit the Huntsman, but the people controlling it needing to be right there seems dumb. They claim that Lanterns are "relics", yet haven't discovered the benefit of remote controlling their minions? Does a necromancer make it so that if his undead minion dies, he dies as well?

So... odds that Paul tells the Sivanas about the possible Reach invasion?
And now I'm just picturing complex cross-temporal politics that result in the Reach and the Sheeda both trying to invade Earth at the same time, then fighting each other. Then Earth can pick off the weakened victor!
Instead, the Sivanas convince the Reach and the Sheeda to team up, in order for the Sivanas to face an even scarier enemy. Gotta have a challenge, y'know? ^_^

(OL meanwhile hyperventilates in the background.)

I don't remember the cartoon explicitly stating that the scarabs are nanite constructs engineered by the Reach with AIs developed by the Reach.

Do you have a cite stating different?

Otherwise that's just an assumption. And the comics had the exact same assumptions about the reach scarabs, until DC decided "nope, they're aliens the Reach enslaved and altered from Sector 2."

Which means that Zoat is free to use whichever origin for the Scarabs he wishes without contradicting anything in the cartoon.
