Maybe Grayven didn't notice the starfish on Lex's face?

Oh my god, star conquerors have evolved into tiny anti-masks.

Lol, at least the Light didn't genetically engineer the starros into microscopic beasts that can control you from the inside, because someone was actually fool enough to do that in the comics.

Oh Zoat, is Grayven working on getting his adopted daughter he own her own New God gadgetry? Considering their defensive capabilities, if nothing else.

For example, in a storyline I want to say in the Justice League International, some punk stole Barda's megarod.

Cops came the scene and shot him repeatedly, only to discover that the megarod protected the guy from bullets.

Then Huntress showed up and shot the guy with her crossbow, and it worked.

Naturally, Huntress asked Barda "Erm, why can I hurt the guy who's bullet proof?"

Barda "Guns we have, but not a lot of crossbow users on Apokalips."

I want to say that the Megarod's defensive applications were adaptive like Doomsday, so that after that incident Barda wouldn't have to worry about a crazed crossbowman, but it's been a while, it might have been like the legend of Balder and that the guy or gal who made the megarod just never thought to include anti-crossbow bolt defenses, although why you wouldn't just program in a generic force field I don't know.

Did you read Gude-Willie Waught?

She has armour. As far as he's concerned she's too young, inexperienced and vulnerable to start learning to use anything else.
Barda "Guns we have, but not a lot of crossbow users on Apokalips."
That is both funny and really stupid. Reminds me of the Justice League Unlimited episode Dart Heart where the army were helpless against the nanotech creatures but Huntress' crossbow took them out just fine.

I think immunity to non plot relevant things is probably the most common super power in DC. More common than even the most common superpower due to being possessed by monsters/males etc.

I did like it in Stargate SG-1 when the Asgard were too advanced to come up with the idea of projectile weapons. Eventually they built a giant battleship full of the crudest weapons they could lower themselves to, and named it after Jack. <3

"Are you related to the Greek goddess of the hunt?"

"No, but sometimes I work with the goddamn Batman."

My fanon is that Huntress has trick arrows only they have armor and forcefield penetration instead of boxing glove arrows.

Huntress is also way smarter than people think, she figured how to beat the bad guy in DC One Million before than anyone else.

True, which may be why I want to remember it as an adaptive defense. One can't really blame an adaptive defense for not working against something it's never experienced before, although if it's adaptive it doesn't learn too quickly, since I don't remember the crossbow bolts losing effectiveness.

But yeah, knowing comic book writers there's every chance that it was a Baldr defense system- protection against everything we happened to remember to include.

Kind of appropriate thematically considering the old gods were the Norse deities because the writer was miffed at Marvel for not letting him write Thor like he wanted to, but at New God tech levels crossbow bolts really shouldn't be much of a threat, that's very "rock beats laser."

And yes, Zoat, I've read all of With This Ring, although it's been so long some details are fuzzy. I still consider starros small enough to move through ones blood vessels more dangerous than the Light's starrotech, because I don't remember getting rid of the starrotech needing to resort to complete blood transfusions.

It's not exactly clear what Starro-tech looks like once it's in someone's body, but it does enter through the skin and exist within their bodies.
Isn't that (technically, in the broadest sense of the phrase) artistic nudity? Does that not fall under the rules?
I'm arguing that the image was designed to elicit disgust rather than arousal and so isn't pornographic.

What stands out to me is that Grayven is as worried about getting to his daughter's birthday party on time as about the possibility of an invasion of body-snatchers.
Did Grayven give "the Biscuits"* money so they can by gifts for Lynne? Or are they into home-made present as it feels more personal and meaningful?

*Gravy and the Biscuits

Speculation on what they'll give a tween telepathic New Goddess:

=a null-helmet or null-room so she can relax her mental discipline without melting anyone's brain.

Grayven: "How was your day, pumpkin?"
Lynne: "Not now, Daddy. I need to use the null-room."
[SFX door opening and closing]
Lynne: "Ahhhhhhhhh, sweet relief."
Grayven:

=A bribed, coerced, or kidnapped celebrity.

Grayven: "And now, Justin Bieber shall sing Happy Birthday."
Justin Bieber:  "Help! I'm being held against my will!"
Grayven: :rage: :rage: :rage:
Justin Bieber: (morose singing) "...happy birthday to you..."
Lynne: "Squeeeeeeeeeee!!!"

You're not gonna get far arguing against the likelihood of people sexualizing something.
If that was actually the rationale, that anything that could be sexualized isn't allowed to be posted, then it wouldn't be possible to post pictures of women, men, animals, anything vaguely phallic shaped... Almost anything really. Zoat's argument makes sense, the picture isn't supposed to be titillating.
My fetish is daily updates. Now what?
Also this.

Like they say on SA, a clean rap sheet is a sign of cowardly posting. A few minor infraction points or a couple of six-hour probations simply shows that you're a poster with spirit.

Or a mediocre poster.

But I think we know which one of those Mr Zoat is.

Man... SV and SB really need an NC-17 board for things that might traumatize the kiddies. I'm getting a little tired of stuff being moved to QQ.
They do, you have to ask permission in a hidden thread and write a short essay detailing why you believe you should be able to read and post there. As a result, it's about as active as a octogenarian paraplegic.

Keep in mind that the web sites are not a service provided by the government using taxpayer funds. Websites are private property.

SV and SB are both owned by individuals who are extremely against having anything even remotely sexual on their sites.

In the end of the day it is their choice what they want or don't want in their private property, you can only try to convince them to change their mind, but people have tried this before and they made it clear that this is never going to happen.

So at this point your choice as the non owner of the site is whether you are still willing to come here anyways despite said rules. The great thing though is that nothing is preventing you from using multiple sites at the same time. I have QQ, SB, and SB open in different tabs right now. I limit myself to PG content on SB and SV, and go nuts with the porns on QQ.

That reminds me of a scene from Stargate SG-1 when a Goa'uld sneered at gunfire because he was protected by a shield that worked by stopping fast objects like bullets.

Goa'uld: "You dare defy ME?!"

Jack O'Neil: "Uhm...yes?"

<Jack throws a knife though the shield into the Goa'uld>

if its not an always on force filed it would make sense for it to have a minimum speed needed to trigger it. Even on the scale of new god tech something like that makes sense as a first line of defense, ie a powerful force filed with a short battery life that only activates against attacks that might be dangerous to its wielder. If its only the first layer of defense making it slightly easier to bypass for more endurance and performance might make sense. Its not like its wielder isn't wearing armor on top of her natural resilience.
