The king is dead, long live the king.

This has a good chance of playing havoc with our action economy.

[X] Plan Oshha
-[X] Authority & Influence & Influence: Math Reform: The Kus have made advances in the notation of mathematics beyond the wildest dreams of the people. Not to mention the substance of math. "Zero"… it will change everything once people get a handle on it. If you were to institute reforms that changed the Melkut Ymaryn to the superior Kus system of math, then there would be immense savings simply from more precise ability to keep track of things. Of course, until the bureaucracy got a hang of the new numbers, it would be pure chaos. (45%. 5 Years. Extremely Expensive, -1 Authority while in progress, +2 Income)
-[X] Influence: Forgive Loan: Other people owe you money, but it's not like you need the cash. Their gratitude at being let off the hook may be more valuable than mere silver. (100%, 1 Year, -.1 Income, +Opinion, Possible ± Prestige, Narrative effects)
--[X] Amber Road
-[X] Influence: Deepen Alliance: Having built the foundations of a strong relationship with another polity, see about deepening the ties that bind you. (Narrative%. 2 Years. +1 Alliance Level, -Opinion = new Alliance Level, cannot be used if this would take their opinion below 5)
--[X] Pamplona
-[X] Personal: Relax with Family (-Stress)

+1 Treasury

Build Ties, Rus Tribes
Needed: Irrelevant, Authority

The starpox has swept the Rus Tribes, and there is talk among the diplomatic corp of allowing them access to the sacred warding. Nothing concrete is come of it yet however.

[3/4]

Math Reform
Needed: 45. Rolled: 84+72=156. Success.

The chaos begins. Switching over the records will take a long time, and getting everyone in the Kingdom on the same page with the Kus numerals will take longer. During that time, there will be much waste, but it will be worth it in the long term.

[1/5, -1 Authority for duration, -3 Treasury]

Train Thunder Plateau Administrators, Elective
Needed: 31+. Rolled: 65. Success.

The new administrators have been elected, and they are as well trained as they are going to be. Already, most of them are doing the actual work of running the Thunder Plateau Province. All that remains is to reestablish the flow of taxes, information, and orders.

[7/7]

Calendar Reform
Needed: 41+. Rolled: 33. Failure.

The confusion mounts as misperception of the day and time causes chaos in the farms.

[2/3, -1 Treasury, -1 Influence]

Touch The Cow, Do It Now, Western Wall
Needed: 31. Rolled: 38. Successful.

The Priests can take it from here.

[3/3, +Western Wall loyalty]

Forgive Loan, Amber Road
Needed: 1+. Rolled: Automatically Successful

Amber Road is quite surprised that you let them off the hook for the rest of the loan. They are very glad, but somewhat confused. As are the rest of the international community.

[+1 Amber Road Opinion. -1 Prestige, -.1 Income]

Deepen Alliance, Pamplona
Needed: N/A, Narrative

Pamplona's king, or was it queen? Anyway, their ruler is eager to seek closer ties with the Melkut Ymaryn. Despite being no longer the top dog, you remain yet a mighty power in the Syffron Sea.

[-1 Pamplona Opinion, +1 Alliance Level with Pamplona]

Personal Action: Relax with Family

Calendar is fucking cursed, you guys. I propose with the King Switch, we throw another influence on it, because I just want it to be done, damn it.

We should reallocate a free influence if available to calendar return, as it basically backfired on us. Also, we should get ready for war either next turns or two turns. It is prophecy.

This mean we shouldn't do anything with the banner companies.

Might someone, or someones be trying to manipulate the colander to their advantage? I mean, a bit part of the calendar reforms in Rome OTL was due to the old calendar being a mess thanks to all of the added days to extend peoples' time in office...

We can't.
Once the action is cho, we cannot change the amount of influence or authority allocated till it concludes.

Actually we can change whenever we get a new king.
(When a new king takes the throne the players may increase, decrease, or change political will commitments. If the number of political will committed exceeds base political will, then you must reduce commitments. Reducing an action to zero political will invested will cause it to fail as gracefully as possible, although such failures may still be disastrous for certain actions.)

[] Change political will commitments? Currently 1 Authority and 1 Influence invested in Praise the Sun pt 2, and 1 Influence invested in Gunpowder Adoption.

Okay, we previously had 2 Authority and 7 Influence, but our new king resets that to 2 Authority and 5 Influence.

Both of our Authorities are in use while the Math Reform using two Influence and the Calendar Reform uses one Influence. That will leave us with two Influence spares or if we are unlucky and the Influence loss from Calendar Reform applies after Balthazar died, only one Influence. On the upside, we should get another Influence from Calendar Reform completing and we can get another Influence from doing the Census action. Overall, this is doing to delay my plans by a year due to the loss of Influence.

I want to keep one Influence free for doing the Census next year and if we got two Influence free, I am considering sticking one on the Calendar Reform just to ensure it gets done.

Also, do we have enough influences and authorities to keep actions ongoing?
Yes.

We might as well get an influence on for the Calendar. We can't afford to lose additional treasury and influence from another bad roll.

Actually, no, I don't want to do the census next turn. I want to reintegrate Thunder Plateau before doing the census so they will be counted in the census.

How much is the integration expected to cost? 1.7 treasury or 1.4 treasury? Also, our treasury is getting low.
