Transposition, or: Ship Happens [Worm/Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio | Arpeggio of Blue Steel]

I actually decided to watch the anime after reading this fic. I haven't finished it yet, but I get the feeling that twelve episodes isn't going to be enough for me.

I'd've put 'em up already somewhere for ease of listening / use for AoBS stuff, but my current comp lacks a disc drive... TnT
I Am Not A Mod, but I think that would probably be against the site's anti-piracy rule anyway. At least, I think you're only supposed to embed/link to stuff that's legitimately allowed by the rights holders. Better to check first if it comes up, in any case.

I mean, if I post it in a way that Youtube doesn't strike it down, isn't that fair? *doesn't know how stringent soundcloud is*

Really, the key piracy issue is less that people put up videos with the audio / soundcloud iteration and more either making money through advertising / people taking the tracks using apps and the internet following that. I'd have no intent of making money through that and don't seek to put the tracks out there beyond to fans who might like utilizing them in fan-projects.

Not to mention that I did legitimately purchase my CDs from Japan, so... *shrug* Running it by staff would be pertinent still, but...

Well yeah, oddly enough publishing companies want to be paid for people to read their products. Something to do with having artists and investors that want to be paid in turn, and a bunch of other operating expenses.

You're projecting how things work in the Western countries to Japan. Artists in Japan, for the most part, are more like salary men than actual artists, and a lot of them do not retain ownership of their creations. Unless your name is Go Nagai, Akira Toriyama or Hayao Miyazaki, to name a few, it's quite likely that you are basically a glorified salary man, with a regular pay, and no royalties. So you can remove "artists" from your comment.

And for the "investors" part, it's inexistent. It's called "sponsors", and they usually get several times their money back in the form of advertising, or marketing rights for side-line products, which in most cases is actually the purpose of publishing a certain manga or airing a certain anime.

Check some fansubs that the raw comes from aired TV series in Japan, and you will notice a prominent line that says something along the lines "this series is sponsored by the following companies". And the names there are not small fries, usually, but rather Bandai, Konami or Geneon. If a series is, for example, a mecha series, you can bet that Bandai is making huge amounts of cash making the toy versions of the mechas featured in the anime.

By the time we are aware of the existence of a manga or anime, it's been paid several times over, directly or indirectly. The international market is, to Japanese companies, small change.

So, our money doesn't go to "reward artists" or something like that, it goes to make fat publishing companies fatter.

There is a reason why anime/manga is slowly dying at japan....

The artists barely earn enough for spending 80+ hrs a week to keep themselves afloat.....

All those money go to mostly the publishers of the show....

Admittedly crunchyroll is an insanely good deal to go premium. Why does my backlog keep growing still didn't know about archipelago being in the manga side. Of course there are guest passes that give you premium access for 48 hours and many have them just chilling.

You know ask and you might get one of them codes!

And for record I'm only here for the FOG

Edit:Still reading the Manga might require a few reads.... Kinda miffed that I can't read it on tablet but that's because it requires flash so can't read it at work.
Also sitting on guest passes myself

And now I have that song stuck in my head. Again. Thanks for that.

On a more serious note, I also found the manga more interesting than the anime.. though my interest in the anime died when..
Kongou had her breakdown.
