Gonna support Calanor then, since my plan was based on his and was more about playing safe for the first turn under the new system anyway
 
Time will tell if it's because veekie and I not making plans this turn or if voters truly are more comfortable putting their own plans forward.
 
Well, it was certainly more comfortable to me, even if I copied parts of Calanors plan, but honestly, that was mostly because he had stuff I wanted either way

Yeah cause they had this guy named Zeus, who would kick their combined asses if they would not behave, that is the sole reason why they were part of the same pantheon

Except Zeus and his brothers were also on bad terms with each other, there was no 'one true lord' on top that's the sole reason the pantheon held together.

It's probably not as painful as if you spent 3+ hours tweaking it from a mobile phone, argue your head off, finally eke out a bare win and then because there were too many changes you make a small math error that explodes us.

...only to realize the only other plan in competition made a different math error that would also explode us while you wallow in guilt.

Yep. It also gives me a better feel for what the thread wants, aside from the loudest factions(Monster, mostly) and the two of us.
Seeing people build plans give you a feel for what they want out of the plan, and what they regretfully compromise on.

Which makes it easier to construct plans to appeal to more people

Zeus was on decent terms with his brothers however?

Zeus got the pantheon head position as the eldest, after deposing their father.
Poseidon got the sea because he liked it.
Hades got the underworld, which he was fine with, but he was much less fine with people not paying him the proper respect because he was creepy.

They were still on good enough terms for Zeus to approve of Hades marrying his daughter, and for Poseidon to walk away scot free after defiling Athena's altar.
They had their disagreements, but it never really escalated to conflict.

No, if I recall correctly they literally drew straws except that Poseidon and Zeus rigged it to get what they wanted. Hades wasn't happy with the trickery but was apparently a pretty chill guy.

ince if we will explore the east next turn we will have another round with Shosho'an and last time we only won due Darken and I would like to avoid risking losing to him even if it just would be a social encounter during our explorations

Darken would give us a bonus to tickery while Twist Fate would most likely directly affect our social rolls with a Bonus

Sorry for the delayed response, I got hit by a really bad cold and spent the last day mostly asleep or barely coherent.

I don't expect any social encounter with Shosho'an. We got the right of free passage through his pantheon's lands from the social encounter with him just last turn. Since we aren't specifically seeking him out I doubt he'll show up. it would be a bit strange to have defend something that we just successfully negotiated for.

That leaves potential social encounters with other spirits. Unfortunately we have only a grand sample size of one of encountering spirits while exploring, but when we discovered the Bloodied Man we didn't initiate any social encounter or needed to make any additional rolls. The most I would expect is a short meet-and-greet, but not a full-blown dominance contest. Even if we enter social encounters, our Trickery + Perform (Sing) is at 14 + 7 = 21, which means a bonus of 105 to social rolls under the new system, plus our tier bonus for being a local goddess. Maybe even another +10 from Saiga's Divine Charisma since we are exploring together.

Honestly, what I expect to get from the exploration party is filling out large chunks of the map and discovering the identities of many of the neighboring spirits, making them available for targeted contact via a communion and information gathering via Study World.
 
Ahaha ha no. I changed the system somewhat, but I never, ever, mentioned skill points were worth more than twice as much.

I am assuming that if we actually find a plant spirit that we will get the opportunity to talk with it rather than just slink away. It is what the entire venture specifically aimed itself at last turn after all. I have a pretty hard time seeing Saiga roaming around a bunch of new undiscovered territory full of spirits and not talking to any of them.

Huh, I just had a kind of awful thought. If we end up communing with Saiga for the child during our explorations will we be blood mooning the neighbors, causing chaos and luring our bears there? On the other hand if we commune with Saiga before we roam off with Saiga and Saitev to find a plant spirit won't we be dumping rage and bears onto our own population? We are a bit damned either way on that one.
