Time of the Gods: Into the Amber Age

Well, I'm locking it up here, and I don't need a tally since the only votes added since my last tally were 1 and 1 to bring it to 29/27.

You are going to be a [Water Spirit] formed near an [arctic tribe, settled on a hilly patch of land several miles off the coast of a greater landmass]. You will have the Elemental Spirit tutorial, which gives you a specific scenario to play out while you establish yourself.

Would you like to make this game co-operative?
[] Yes
[] No

I am willing to lock this vote as soon as at least 40 voters vote the same way.

What exactly would making it co-operative entail? I imagine having to coordinate between threads would add management overhead, which is never a good thing. And what happens if one of the sister-quests slows down or dies?

If one of us slows significantly or stops, the other will simply convert the dropped quest to NPC status. We do expect to be a touch slower to collaborate 'game time' and ensure events are synced up, whether the spirits notice them or not. As the 'host', I'll be sharing major events with notanautomaton in advance and working with him on things to throw at you.

From a play standpoint, you will experience some issues sharing with the animal spirit, especially if it's fear-oriented, and as a likely fear spirit yourself, there will almost surely be a number of violent confrontations regardless of it being faith or fear.

[x] Yes

I think so long as both quests don't turn into Fear based quests the potential interaction between the two quests outweighs the issues that the increased complexity would bring

[X] No

My gut tells me no, so that's what I'll vote. Even if Yes pretty much already won. Though one of the advantages of Yes is that the story can easily continue even if one of the quests lose, I like that.

Also, how quiescence going to work with two quests? If one goes for a 4-year upgrade and the other doesn't, is the former going to go two weeks without any updates?

Ah, I hadn't entirely considered that. Yes, the only way quiescence would work is a temporary pause on story.
