Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Ling Qi is terrifying.

This said just straight up killing them all sits ill with me.

This said, I am not absolutely opposed to it, we just should think really hard if this is the road we want Ling Qi to go down.

TACTICS FIFTEEN

[ ] Plan: The Might of the Cai
-[ ] Begin the Spring's End Aria bolstered with Echoes of Absolute Winter (With relevant Arts augmented with Joyous Toast), and go on the defensive as the Cai Platoon reaches combat distance, while trying to drain the Qi of the retreating enemy elites and keep them in our dome to help support our stand, making use of Hoarfrost Refrain's Qi Drain to help top up. When Renxiang's forces join battle, detonate Traveller's End to seal the deal on the bandit force. Take advantage of the paralysis effect to capture the two lesser Greens in Lunatic Whirl (And if there's a reasonably strong other survivor, adding them as our third), neutralizing and draining their remaining Qi to recoup our losses. Cooperate with Renxiang and her force to get an opening to engage the enemy expert, and do our best to land a full force blow from Call to Ending if we can as our keystone contribution, unless we're requested to do otherwise.

This is highly problematic, as it involves effectively standing there and taking the shots from a Green 5 Sniper. Who likely has poison.

Best to detonate Traveler's End and focus on backing up into our supporting Army and coordinating with CRX.

Why do u detonate after they link up? The amount of Qi we have to expend for including 25 Cai guards in the mist is ridic. Detonate first then link up when vision is not obscured.

Oh god this is going to be another vote where everyone yells at me for minor details and I end up hating myself, isn't it?

So.

We should be detonating TE as a free action before that, I think. Given that @yrsillar said the 'Bai' was only a couple metres beyond the mist, we could arguably catch him in the detonation if we do a quick dash, too.

Okie dokie, so you just want me to detonate TE as a free action at the very start, at the same time we wind up SEA/Echoes, right? I'll adjust that.

Do we know Ling Qi's culture's basic rules for capital punishment? That is, has she grown up with the basic expectation that cultivators will mow down thieves willy-nilly, or does she expect the police/nobility (in an ideal world) to exercise restraint and live capture if possible?

I am against any plan which suggets to just straight out kill 70~ people because Ling Qi is too lazy to take a step back and let the fog continue without her in it, especially when Ling Qi herself was discomforted by the thoughts of just killing them.

All the rest of the bandits (including the green) are already disabled by the fog, the Bai dude is the only person who is a threat and the fog is self-sustaining; There is no reason to detonate Traveler's End.

We can't protect 26 allies (CRX + company) from our mist; only ten, at 2 qi per ally. As we can't protect them from the mist, it blocks Line of Sight for CRX+Co.

I don't know if we can turn the mist off completely some other way, and it certainly wouldn't be as effective - or as much of a statement.

That is overly optimistic. It is a Composure test, which the Greens may or may not fail.

True, forgot the end of that sentence.

Unlike the other archers though, his head was uncovered, leaving his long hair, black and streaked with dark green to fly free. More Importantly, it left the upper half of his face bare, revealing his golden, slit pupiled eyes.

"Can't expect peasants to do a Bai's work I suppose,"

Ooh. Very well done Shao. Brilliant political move there, using the Bai's pride, size and internal factions against them. Either way, he wins something.

I don't think we should kill them unless Cai tells us to. After all, she may want to apply JUSTICE and LAW to the matter.
CRX just killed a bunch of them. We can worry about JUSTICE and LAW after they're defeated and at Ling Qi's and CRX's mercy. We're not there yet.

If you want Ling Qi to handicap herself a little bit in the name of mercy, Batman style, that's a different argument, and one I may be amenable to.

Uh, we've already killed a bunch, that ship's already sailed. Ling Qi's just not noticing it because she's in the middle of a life-or-death fight.

Yeah, like, one dude literally got eaten was picked up, pumped full of venom and thrown aside.

I have no idea where this whole 'maybe we should think twice before killing them' thing is coming from. They aren't pickpockets in a city, or some minor thugs. These are bandits who literally just finished raiding a village. Our boss wasn't sent a sword so she could go easy on them.

Lol this guys still has less qi than we do. Also, I'm impressed we're able to dodge S ranked attack from a blindspot, that's really advanced for our current level.
