With the Ith specifically, most Imperial methods probably work worse, or not at all, in the underground environment.
 
No strong opinion about this vote either way. We'll eventually end up poking all of the ministries, I see this as getting a bit more contact with the current heads of the organizations (which is good) and in some cases just getting a bit of casual chatter done about what the ministries look like.

Unlike most high aristocrats, we have had next to no contact or even eyes on what the various ministries do outside of an abstract sense. Communication is the super post office? Finance is probably the tax service? Works is the physical building blocks and Spiritual Affairs are the spiritual building blocks?

Honestly kinda weird that Works doesn't include things that we hear are "Great Works" from the Clans that are significantly spiritual in nature. The separation makes a lot of sense at the ground level, but at the ground level we were at we didn't really see their works? Also I'm skeptical that there has to be a separation at the base level, but it's been many millennia and it's probably pretty baked into the Celestial Empire at this point.
 
despite pushing for Finance and Communication, I think it would be really funny to see Diao Luwen, only for him to scold for not advancing our geomancy studies (since when we saw him during a sect tournament, he was briefly interested in how we're starting to study gates and shresholds, but I don't believe we have done much to train it since then)

I mean, it doesn't actually need to work particularly well? They mainly need to be able to communicate with Shenhua, not sending a message to J Random Cultivator. Let alone J Random Mortal. Meaning that the basic post is sufficient for their needs.

I mean, in the Emerald Seas in specific, they're probably the ones responsible for working out how to unfuck the mess the Hui made of the geomancy of the province. Which hasn't actually been completely fixed yet because it can require redesigning entire cities (and that's assuming the Hui didn't place cities in spots where the placement itself is the problem) which is...not easy to fix.

-Seriously, having a domain that can transmit info and codes is clutch in wartime. I am curious if maybe Li Suyin or Su Ling sending an urgent secure message from forward base to behind enemy lines is possible.
