[X] Shenglu

This fits for what i want, even if i i would like to have luck or lucky in the name...
This is how your commoners wind up calling it Cat Immortal Village
we should keep that in reserve, you know, when we get cat spirits or something. Or for a cat cafe :V
Yun Cai - Clouds' Colors

Referencing the Cai, the mists, and is itself an auspicious omen?
The last part of the name for Village/Town/City should be left out IMO, since that is plug and play
While i understand cloud being positive... do we really want to use cloud when we are in a wary/hostile relation with the Cloud Nomads? Especially with the Emerald Sea's history?
Too long for a name I think. If you use more than two words you can assume people will start shortening it just for convenience.
Leave out the basin then, Lucky Dew / 幸露 Xìngyùn Lù.
Edit: shortened by veekie's recommendation

[X] Xìngyùn Lù

Damn I really thought I was cooking with my effort post  but I appreciate the feedback Veekie.

Lu4/dew is pretty good. I like dew, as it's beautiful, related to snow and blossoms, and certainly plentiful in a misty town under a waterfall. Lu4 also means roads or journeys, so rather than an endpoint like 'edge' or 'rim' type names it's something where you can journey past or through. (It's also green and continent and a few other things but that's unrelated.)

Between 露 and 蓼 there are connotations of hardship or ephemerality, which can be paired with a word like yu4 逾 for overcome, or 余 for a surplus, so it becomes either overcoming hardship or surplus dew, or, well, surplus hardship. So maybe not yu4. Instead sheng4 is an option, which doesn't have such options available to my knowledge. There's 胜 for victory, surpassing, a beautiful view, 圣 for holy or sacred, 盛 for flourishing or magnificent or famous (and is adjacent to flowers with 盛开, for 'in full bloom'), 晟 for brightness or splendour...

So Shenglu, for overcoming hardship or surpassing ephemerality, beautiful or sacred dew, a scenic journey, and other things. An aspirational name, for Gan Guangli, and a name that references snow or blossoms, for Xia Lin. As an english name, to match style, something like Sacred Dew, Saintly Dew, Dewtown, Verdant Dew (the green was relevant after all!)... is probably best.

I like both of the top two names but I'm leaning towards dew I think.

[] Yun Cai
Intended meaning: Colorful/Prismatic Clouds
This is both a literal description(in that we're generating mist everywhere and causing rainbow effects wherever the light hits it), and also an auspicious omen, in that prismatic clouds are one of the general signs of blessings and good fortune, as well as Immortals presence

Out of curiosity, what's the difference between Cai Yun and Yun Cai?

I'm not sure which reading is intended to be the main one but I like 盛露 and 胜露.

Thank you for that huge, informative post Veekie! So how is this pronounced?
Or does anyone else knowledge in these matters know?

Sheng (sh + ung as in lung)
Lu (lu as in blue)

Yun (yoon like june)
Cai (the c is like ts sound in cats + ai like the letter i)

[ ] Yun Cai
[X] Shenglu
Unintended meanings:
-Sheng has a lot of positive associations, about the worst I can get out of it is Raw(as in raw meat). Life, Rise, Victory, Holy.
-Lu likewise is a highly positive word, though I'm sure everyone is going to just focus on Prosperity/Success(Lu) and Deer(Lu), while Road and Dew also represent.
Raw Deer Town, huh?

Better make sure we don't run out of firewood. :)
