Literally everything (including names that don't exist yet) are in the running.

If it isn't named after somebody and the local area doesn't have any names, we'd end up with something like river's fork or twin pines.

I'm unsure if a two word name is better or worse than a single mushed together word.

Honestly, something like Peace Town would be a pretty plausible real world name.

.... goddammit

we could call it Chang'an, or "long peace".
that's very funny in a meta sort of way. I like it.
What was the logic behind the word Snowbelle anyway? I'm just curious. To me personally, it sounds like the name someone might give a cute pet. I'm picturing something fluffy and white, cat or bunny...or a horse...yeah definitely could be a horse.
I assume Hanyi is the snowbelle because she's snow and a belle c:

Maybe Anshan / Peaceful Mountains could work well?

We're in the mountains, the treaty is about the mountains, we're all about peace... very aspirational!

Heiji
Chang'an
Anshan
Can we get some native/fluent speakers here who know their stuff? Where they at??

In addition to the meaning which I like, Anshan sounds kinda pretty. I think I'll add it to my vote for now as well.

Throwing out another suggestion that people could find amusing:

Xin'an, or "New Peace"

which, as @JowKeen pointed out sounds like Jiao named it after his wife and best friend lol

and if you want an english version New Peacetown does sound like a perfectly legitimate english name

[X] Ironwood Pass.
[X] Xin'an

My wordplay skills falter in the face of trying to make it work for two cultures without negative implications to either.

Iron would pass should do :V
E: Xin'An works too
Xin - New or Heart
An - Peace

Half of a saying

Alright, so after consulting with the experts - read veekie - it has been determined that Anshan would have unfortunate graveyard-y connotations. They might be accurate mind you, but...

[X] Xin'an / "New Peace"

However does seem to work quite well. It puns into heart + peace, so that's nice, and push comes to shove and we need to put it in English "New Peace" or "New Peace Town" doesn't sound the worst. Not sure how it goes into not!Russian or whatever, but I think it works pretty well?

And Treaty of Xin'an does sound pretty good.

[X] Xin'An

Voting for all the good Chinese names, they just feel so much more fitting. Snowblossom was really good, lovely image and rolls off the tongue, I don't want another one.
