I've only skimmed the discussion, but there's a few prominent points I diverge on.

The biggest one: both options are stealth options.

Yes, really. In either case, Ling Qi is attempting to evade notice by blending in with the... wake left by either party's Law crashing through the liminal. In both cases, Ling Qi is blending into an environment at the edge of the conflict, trying not to get squished.

The thing is that she doesn't agree with either of these Laws. Even with the flexibility of youth, she can't actually harmonize herself to those heady environments, in this mutable realm of Dreams. She's going to take damage from the mismatching Law she bathes in, regardless of which it is.

I think there's more things we can do with injuries from Xia Lin, notably around Zhengui's themes. Getting a bit charred is also more distinct from the marks Huisheng stuff has left, which avoids confusing same-y-ness.

[X] She would soar, one spark among the conflagration. Today she was a voice of fire and steel, better to embrace that

Something interesting to think about is, if we assume this event would have played out the same with a different art project, then this would have been the point where Boundaries Untrodden would have showed its stuff by allowing Ling Qi to walk in those Law-tainted spaces without significant harm, or being noticed, by bringing herself into better understanding of the distinction between their truths and her own.

Woulda been neat! I'm honestly not sure how Winter's Crown is supposed to transition into a winter trait upgrade, here. There's not really narrative space for a personal triumph, and the nature of the field means there's no room for winter-y special effects or anything. That's actual, literal suicide. Big ol' question mark on how this progresses, over here.

In skimming the discussion, I think this vote is mostly about power, especially given that a good chunk of the update was a meditation on power.
In that case, I don't think Ling Qi is someone who wants to wield power by skulking in the background. She can do it certainly, but if that was who she wanted to be she wouldn't have spearheaded this summit.

Putting any philosophical implications to one side for the moment, I think any insight we gain into Xia Ren from the Soar option is going to be incredibly valuable going forward. She is, ultimately, someone that we're going to have to kill, redirect or otherwise neutralise down the line in support of Renxiang against her mother.

The first step towards doing this, for someone with Communication at their core, is going to be understanding her, inside and out. Soar presents an excellent opportunity to harvest some key character flaws to exploit down the line. Not safely, mind you, but it's going to be very hard to get a similar opportunity to this in the future.

We're taking advantage of the fact that we're inside her protection, and she's very unlikely to have the shields raised against us. I don't think anyone save Shu Yue really knows how potent Ling Qi's communication aspects are yet, even against higher cultivators, since it's so recent. I can guarantee that as Ling Qi rises in cultivation and her capability becomes better known, the barriers are going to start slamming down, as people are better prepared. We need to get everything we can here against a prime target while we can.

Imagine how it might play out if we knew ASA, and could use cold fire to prevent being burnt...

Honestly, i think its less a choice of "do we show ourselves or not'" and more "do we blend in the sparks or in the shadows?".
Going in the shadows would be like bending in the environment, just another piece of the scenery.
Dancing with the sparks on the other hand would be like walking mixing in with a crowd, at least, imo, just another part of something bigger.

And while i do love sneaking around unseen, there are times when blending with the masses just makes stuff easier.
