Random side thing... I was re-reading my earlier analysis of Bao Qian, and it occurred to me... at the date, there was a real disconnect where he just didn't get where Ling Qi was coming from as a child of the gutter. This disconnect was made very clear to him, and he struggled with it. He managed to pick up some insight during the evening itself, but he's also highly motivated to figure out whatever it is that he needs to figure out to better understand our favorite Baroness of Frozen Shadows. There's a very real possibility that the next time we see him, he will have taken some time to better understand what life is like in the slums... and if he has, I'd imagine that it will have changed him, at least a little. For someone so dedicated to commerce as Bao Qian, that's the sort of thing that can give you an Insight.
Wacky even-more-to-the-side thought: it just occurred to me exactly how close the title "Duchess of Moonless Nights" was to some of Ling Qi's themes. For that matter, the whole idea of the Night, and associated theft-by-violence isn't that far off either... and then there's the idea of a mentor/boss who has quite a lot of machine folded in within (and partially displacing) their humanity. The parallels aren't that close, but they're enough to wrap a crossover around, I'd think.
"I admit, I've been known to drop lakes on people in combat. It's very disruptive."
"Huh. I suppose I occasionally drop a turtle on people for similar reasons."
"A turtle?"
"He's a very big turtle."
