There another way to look at it, after all the "King and his men" could easily be mistaken for the World Government after all Cross hasn't been shy about their crewmate being "stolen" has he....

It's nice, but is it fitting to the mood of having gone in and literally wrecked an island, an Army and blow open state secrets big enough to cause more nations, quite likely, to secede from the WG.

Because as we all know the Tarkin Doctrine isn't a viable way to rule, for very long.

Now granted Cross has said he doesn't want to issue a "call to the sea"...

But something interesting for Soundbite's music corner.

Could dedicate it to Whitebeard and Shanks, i believe they'd like it quite abit.

Edit: someone else who'd probably like it aswell, would be Silvers Rayleigh.

It also works as a salute from Usopp to Yasopp.

Never mind that it tweaks the noses of the Marines with a part.



Something that's gonna be a definite result of all this at Enies Lobby, is that hoisting the Strawhat Flag for any allied crew is not just gonna be a mark of Sea Cred, it's going to be an outright declaration of war against the WG.

Well, considering that the latest chapters have been over 50k word behemoths, and considering that T-T-TRIPLE TAP update from a while ago, I can understand why your perspective on "short" chapters would be skewed. I'm guessing it's gonna take at least two more chapters after this next one to wrap up Enies Lobby, and that's not even including the aftermath: the building of the Thousand Sunny, what to do with Merry, the crew's updated bounties, running into Garp - potentially sowing the seeds for a future MI5 recruitment, and of course, the full repercussions of the Water 7 secession and the Purge of the Giants. I imagine all that would likely cover an entire chapter on its own.

I find that to be highly unlikely, bordering on the impossible, considering that Z has an undying hatred of all pirates - he'd probably go straight to killing Cross if they ever came across each other. Z would also be the worst possible enemy for Cross to face: first, because it's already been established that Cross has no knowledge of the films, and thus has zero predetermined knowledge of Z's past and character to use against him; second, even if he did have that knowledge, it's unlikely it would have any sway over changing Z's mind, since he's just like Cross: someone who stays true to his beliefs no matter what, even in the face of death; third, Z's strong enough to stand toe-to-toe against the Admirals, having personally trained many of the upper echelon of the Marines himself. I suppose if there's any common ground to be found between the two, it'd be their unflinching dedication to their beliefs, and their stand against the corruption and ineptitude of the Marines and WG. All that being said, I too would be incredibly stoked to see a Cross/Z teamup, but realistically, I don't see that happening.
My God, can you imagine the sheer badassery if Cross actually managed to convince Z to join Marine Integrity? For me, that would be the crowning moment of awesome of the future Film Z chapter.

Well Dragon is also an option, Whitebeard or Ace depending on how the Blackbeard/War of the Best arc turns out.

Just outright having Blackbeard get murdered by Ace, Squardo and Whitey Bey is a valid option, that not many fics choose to do, apparently the inane motivation seems to be that he's a good "Arch-enemy" he's not though, it'd better to wipe him and his crew out.

Squardo and Ace should reheheeaaally have a conversation about Gol D. Roger

Seriously though. It's been an amazing year and I for one thank all three of you for making it a better ride than it would have been without it.
There were some weeks that the only thing I had to look forward to were the updates of this and a few other works.
This I tended to look forward to a bit more, as the updates were long enough that I could sneak small breaks at work and make the update last the whole shift.
