There Was A Different Idea: An MCU Producer Quest

Makes me wonder if we could acquire the rights to the Shi'Ar from Fox since Carol's identity as Warbird is associated with them. It'd be even better if we were able to lump in the X-Men with them but we take what we can get.

The idea is that both Monica and Carol acquire superpowers somehow but Monica is chosen as Mar-Vell's successor. Carol can then go off with the Shi'Ar to find her own identity instead of living in Monica's shadow as a sidekick. It's a win-win.

It'd still be good to get Gunn on board before Dc gets to him. I remember hewitng about him wanting to do Thunderbolts. Though that's something we would probably have to do a lot of set up for.

@overmind I have just realized that we did not have these action anywhere in the Avengers...
You can do up to 3 things in between the Production and Filming.
Are we going to have a retroactive action to do this stuff?

Because seeing how badly Fox has screwed up with his reboot of X-men it is a shame we don't get an option to buy our stuff back after that major screw up...

An Sony finished 2011 fiscal year with HUGE loses, so it is a great chance of recovering spiderman

What Should We Do? - Planning Session: Marvel TV (September 2011)
War Machine already was an unparalleled success, something that pleasantly surprised Marvel since, as Avi had told you back then, the TV show side of Marvel was purely done out of a desire to generate revenue from characters they felt would never make it to the Big Screen, or from those who were just not that popular there to begin with.

Of course you disagree, most vehemently, against that. Every Marvel character, with proper preparation, can shine wither in the movies or in TV shows. It just so happens that some characters may only shine when they have the extra time to be developed like War Machine was, and some characters can make a greater splash if put in movie form, like Captain America.

The deal done with Netflix was another decision that you had no input in. Netflix offered to share the costs and to pay a hefty licensing fee in order to have the shows be exclusive to the new "Streaming Network". You don't think you'd have chosen differently, but it would have been nice to at least be given the choice in the end. Despite that, you had no complaints. Netflix had kept its side of the bargain, had made sure to allow you free reign (or as much as you could have with Marvel still looking behind you) with the TV shows, and in return you had helped them get new subscribers (they know very well where that sudden surge came from).

The point being, back when you started it was the Committee, as well as Avi and Ike who gave you the ideas and Pitches to begin Production on the TV shows. This would be the first time you could contribute on ideas, characters, and TV shows alike. Shows that perhaps would not gain enough traction with fans when shown on the movies, but would definitely get many of them when shown on TV.

Then again, you could also just skip this year and try it again for the next. You are still working on the Avengers film after all (Oh God, why did you have to think about it!?!) So you're sure that the rest of the Execs would not be that hard on you this time around.

This is a discussion update. There's no need to vote to make suggestions, just bring up your ideas for TV shows. Collaborate with each other or not to make a Pitch, or just an Elevator Pitch. Or just discuss what character you want to make a series about. From those I may chose some.

War Machine Season 2, with perhaps the development of the Thunderbolts as a sort of Marvel Suicide Squad under Thaddeus Ross?

Dont see why we cant do another show. War Machine Season 2 or,
Lady Sif and the Warriors Three; an adventure story that would take Lady Sif along with the warriors of Asgard on many adventures, exploring the city and the nine realms, or perhaps even dealing with the politics of the realm. The way it's designed it could be set for before or after the movie.

You can see the appeal here; Gal Gadot has agreed to appear in Marvel productions, and though the payment would have to somewhat match you could still recover it; she is among the most popular character after all.

Yep. Bought him back as well as the Fantastic Four long ago.

I just had a bizarre fever daydream where we actually gave Deadpool a show, the full show treatment, and then we still go through with the 'Deadpool as played by Wonder Man' idea later on but instead of a movie he was starring in a show.

In other words, the entire Netflix show was a show inside of a movie within the MCU. We could hide little hints about it throughout the show, too, while also allowing Deadpool's particular brand of comic absurdism within the Netflix show.

The big reveal when he is finally brought to life by the Reality Stone would be insane.

Or this, i love this. Super meta.

So, it's basically like this joke...

Also, I want a post-credits scene that shows Deadpool about to do a hilarious fourth-wall-breaking scene(hopefully one that's already been in the show), he then messes up a line, and the camera then pans to the director yelling cut and telling Simon to get the line straight, with Simon apologizing.

Better yet, we could probably get away with an entire Bloopers reel that was actually the bloopers from within the MCU that people would only truly catch onto after the fact once Deadpool is finally brought to life inside of the MCU itself.

Every time it is 'Ryan Reynolds' breaking character, it is actually his character breaking character.

Wat. :V I don't understand, this is too much meta for my brain to handle. AArgh...

Edit:

Ah... So that's what you meant.

Iron Fist.

We wanted to do that last time around, but War Machine was simply too good an opportunity.

Pwease? 🥺

I'll break it down. The absurd Deadpool TV Series we release to Netflix is an actual Deadpool TV show being released by Simon Williams within the MCU proper, but we don't outright say that at any point within the show. It can only be extrapolated through hints shown within, like a total absence of mentions of an alien invasion or any other close tie-ins.

Then, the bloopers reel is Simon Williams breaking character as Deadpool on set a bunch of times, which we also don't mention. In other words, a fabricated bloopers reel that functions as a post-credit scene hinting at the fact that Deadpool is going to come to life from a Simon Williams show within the MCU.

1. WW2 Show, showing the fallout after Steve's sacrifice, and the rise of SHIELD, the Maggia, and the continuation of HYDRA (well, *one* of the continuations...), with Nefaria and Peggy Carter as co-leads that over time become rivals, of course both of them still hate HYDRA more.
2. War Machine Season 2, especially the fallout from the Avengers, perhaps armor wars, funded by military this time because of fears after a literal alien invasion
3. Deadpool

Iron Fist might actually be a good way to do some more Ten Rings Lore tbh. Could allways tie them in to that lore.

If we do the Iron Fist, I definitely want to do it justice and really go all in on the international nature of the character... maybe even have it take place almost entirely in Asia? I think it has a lot of potential.

Speaking of, is there anything stopping us from working on two tv shows now that we've got our foot in the door so to speak?

You know what, let's go full meta! Do some X-Men Origins jokes, as well as a DC joke or two if one of our characters is played by Michael Keaton or Michelle Pfeiffer, or somebody that's been in a DC movie.
