There Was A Different Idea: An MCU Producer Quest

For movies I tried to roll to see if they were even nominated, they were not (Damn Hollywood snobbery to Superhero films!) But we'll see what happens with the TV side, that is if you still want it to happen this year (2011-2012).
Not even Jason Momoa, RDJ, Chris Evans, or Tom Ellis were nominated for best actor of the corresponding category?

For shame!

They are closing their eyes, plugging their ears and going "LALALALAICAN'THEARYOULALALALA!!!" at the elephant in the room that is outright telling them that Superhero films can offer more than just drivel entertainment, that it's more than just a phase, and that of course the Avengers deserves to at least have a nomination.

They are very good at it.

Its very in character for them, and I'm glad that you are keeping to how they act.

Ah, so just like real life then. Well, I guess we can work with that.

Considering previous mentions of her:
Any chance for a Wonder Man movie with Squirrel Girl? She would fit perfectly with the comedy-focused theme of his movie, like giving her powers and side-kick squirrel a more magical background compared to everyone else more grounded backstories. And this movie could be the bridge for a next one with Deadpool, or including him right away.
PS: Any chance for a lnews-website/wikipedia list with all MCU movies so far with their budgets and box offices ? To have an idea how much money was made compared IRL and competing DC

I'd also really like for the Earth side of Marvel to be more... internationally inclusive? The Avengers and the F4 are all United States bound for the most part, maybe we could do something to expand the horizons a bit and capitalize on that international interest?
I'd tend to agree. It'd also be interesting to see how government aligned that team composition becomes, and if it's meant to be a symbol of international cooperation or of U.S. dominance. Honestly, we could probably have a decent shot at trying to add Shang-Chi or another Asian superhero, and if we're lucky, it'll help boost the appeal in China.

I will readily admit, i am dreading when Kevin releases his Justice League.

Pftttt, I'm sure it'll be fiiiiiiiiiiiine! What are we really going against, the first widely hailed superhero in Superman? The best selling single hero movie of all time with Green Lantern? BATMAN? A well-established and financially stable corporation like DC? Wonder-Woman an— I think I'm feeling a little faint.

Good news! Batman is not part of their cinematic universe. They have Green Arrow instead.

Fuck, doing this on phone was a mistake. @overmind, you mind thread marking this, ill add the competition box office results when my fingers stop aching.

The Avengers earned close to two billion dollars total. It feels unlikely that Justice League would match let alone beat that. I might eat humble pie when it's released and I'm proven wrong, but I don't think so. People being disappointed at the lack of Dark Knights might be detrimental to the movie. Either way, I hope that our competition is successful but not too successful. Having somewhat successful competition could mean that the bigwigs are more open to experimentation in order to be competitive.

Finally finished work and managed to get some rest. Now, let's see what we have.

Is Carol Captian Marvel at this point? Could be a good character to introduce if we're doing the Kree.

Her failure of comic that get rebooted again and again is just starting. And no. we are totally not going for Carol Danvers version if I have any say about it. Monica Rambeau version is far superior even when Carol got some character left. The fact that she was second Captain Marvel after original Captain Mar-Vell, Kree warrior who betrayed Kree Empire died to cancer, helps out. This could easily be tied to Avengers movie storyline.

So Captain America 2, Hulk 2, Iron man 3, Thor 2 are definitely gonna happen.

Besides that Fantastic 4 sounds like a good idea, setup Doom and all. Think Doom would be great for a Phase 3 movie.

Ghost Rider I think would be an awesome way to show the dark side of the MCU supernatural scene. Norman Reedus was born to play Johnny Blaze. We can also do Blade or Moon Knight!~

Nova followed by Guardians would be an amazing way to build the galactic side of the MCU.

Doctor Strange done right could be extremely cerebral. Lean into some Lovecraftian horror and the fact he's the only thing standing between Earth and Cthulu's cousins.

Lotta stuff we can do, gonna be fun!

Hulk 2 could be good start. Customers seemed to like him in Avengers.

I would suggest Captain Marvel movie as second, maybe filmed at same time with Hulk, before DC pushes Shazam out. I doubt that will come at their first phase, he is bit too similar to Superman with powers to fit in right now.

Don't know about Iron man 3, could be saved for next phase.

Thor 2 is kind good choice because customers probably want some more Loki.

Fantastic Four could be introduced, we need the Skrull in to the story.

If James Gunn comes forward with GotG, we can easily just do it as side story that get tied to main.

I would suggest making some side storyline for magical characters that get used later for main storyline. China is big market and would block a lot of them and I'm personally not in mood for censoring stuff for them. That way their appearance in main story movies does not cause problems.

I mean. I don't love everything they've done with Carol but surely that gives us the chance to do our own version and redeem her.

Iirc I remember Marvel talking about doing the Runaways as a film at one point before they did the show. Could be worth looking into. Though I'm not sure how it would fit in our over all plan.

We shouldn't punish a character because of a bad or lackluster performance in OTL. That's just ridiculous. Though I do like the idea of having more representation in this MCU.

Carol Danvers had existed for decades before that movie came out. We'd just need to make a better version of her for this MCU. Maybe she goes off and does her own thing while Monica becomes the new Captain Marvel.

Though the first Captain Marvel movie could focus on Mar-Vell before passing on the mantle to a human successor.

I doubt it's not a big deal in this quest. But in real world one of the problem for comic book stores was when people after movies came in to buy some about their new favorite movie hero and walk out wondering "what the hell is this shite".

I wouldn't mind an Captain Marvel story where the original was on Earth, eventually die using last of his strength fighting while dying to cancer which then teaches to his successor (Monica) the meaning of sacrifice. Which leads to her fighting against some splinter group of Kree attacking Earth, perhaps use whoever is going to be next Accuser leader so he will be introduced for GotG movie.

We can't help it when Marvel's comics division shits the bed. We have no control over what crap Marvel decides to publish in their comics. But what we can do is make sure that Marvel's heroes (and villains) are treated with respect when they are brought to the silver screen.

That works as the general outline of a Captain Marvel movie. I'd at least have Carol as a supporting character, though.

Eh, I'm ok for Warbird (Carol) being in movie. In my opinion though we should avoid her Captain Marvel version in order to make better movie.

I have really nothing against her character before the end of House of M. I actually am little sympathetic of her because all the shitty things that happened for her character. But Captain Marvel? No.
