The Smallest of Dragons, The Loudest of Roars (An ASOIAF Valyrian Adventure Quest)

[] Business and a Friend
-[]Vila Ventures: Your Family's villa was home to one of the greatest assets to your family… Sheep and Grapes. You were known throughout the world as of the Great producers of wine… perhaps you can find a way to become even better.

-[]Business Ties: Your father had a long laundry list of Businesses… You're going to get your toes wet… and you are going to make them… yours. (Write in what business you wish to take over)
--[]Valayrian Shipping, Being the company of the leader of Valaryian Freehold for so may years this shipping and acquisitions company your father inherited from his father grew leaps and bounds and has its claws in every one of Valaryias colonies, cities and major coastal towns. While not one of the big 6 shipping enterprises in the Empire it is without a doubt in the top 15 with all of the riches and problems that would be assured to come with such a important business.

-[]Business Ties: Your father had a long laundry list of Businesses… You're going to get your toes wet… and you are going to make them… yours. (Write in what business you wish to take over)
--[]Bellerophon Armory, A small but Very high quality forge in the Capital of Valaryia your father managed to acquire them in the last year or so of his reign. Known for their high quality Arms and Armor the real reason your father bought bought them up was their ability to work and forge Valaryian steel. With how rare it is for a forge master with the knowhow and skill to craft this mystical metal to take on apprentices to teach and pass on this skill it is even rarer still for those self same apprentices to strike out on their own and start up a new forge instead of taking over their masters forge when they pass.

-[]Dragon Eggs: You need to see the Dragon eggs… to find out if any were ready to hatch.

-[]A True Friendship: Rhaerya wishes to spend more time with you… she wants to make sure you are not… planning to hurt yourself. She wants the best from you… and for you as well.

-[]A Regent in Control: Your father's senate seat has a regent… a man who was appointed by the Consul to rule until you were of age… You will not allow yourself to become a puppet to the man who murdered your father.

I think maintaining a connection to Rhaerya will help with the depression problem more than visiting home will.

Ahh, so these are the famous Magoose Dice™ I've been hearing about haha
I think we should take up painting. We shall bring about Renaissance level paintings and be remembered as the greatest dragonlord who ever painted.
I like the ideia of painting, we could introduce perspective into what is basically the Antiquity if we become good at it! We'll need to acquire and make some exotic dyes though. Carmine, Lapis Lazulli, Tyrian (which is probably from Ghiscar), Kermez and Saffron, all of which are very expensive. Would be a prestigious hobby however. We could also try to become a wrestler, like Plato (this was actually his stage name, meaning "broad", his real name has been lost, though some say it was Aristocles), it was very popular in Greece and Rome, so I imagine it would be in Valyria too.

Nice rolls!

Hmm... Maybe something like this?

[]Vila Ventures
[]A Scaly Conundrum
[]A True Friendship
[]Dragon Eggs
[]Choose a Hobby
[]A Regent in Control

Can't we have more than one hobby? and isn't the obvious -train with sword till you can't stand- , in case we want to go legionary , pretty much the best option? idk

-[X]Taking Account: Your father and family had a long list of coin, and assets meant only one thing. You needed to secure them before they were seized by opportunists and opportunistic enemies. Rolled: 1D100 => 86+75= 161

Well now… that was something.

You believed that the Senate would have seized the family assets, taking more than just the dragons from you. They would have taken everything from you…

Everything, except the lands that had been yours for centuries, back when the family was nothing more than sheepherders, respected for wool, and for farmland… but not in wealth.

But it was rather thankful than that your father had, in death, saved everything in the family's fortune.

He had amended all the wills of your family… every single branch of your family's vast members, over the course of his life, to leave everything, in the event of a massive disaster… to you.

He had persuaded everyone in the family to do that…

He was nothing, if not far-sighted… or paranoid to keep your business in the family… or to you.

But they were there, waiting to be exploited.

He even left his legionary armor and his sword. Magic forged Steel, he had earned back when he won a triumph for winning the war in Ghiscar when he was a young man.

Reward:

Gain: Ten million gold.

Gain Valyrian Steel Sword, A Suit of Valyrian Steel Armor.

Business Can now be worked on (There are so many businesses that you have a finger in, you can do a write in and there is a 95% that business will be at least partially owned by you)

You can now manage the estate and make it grow.

Very nice start to our business empire. Also, some of the best equipment available if we ever end up joining the legion.

-[X]Bury Your Family: Your family's corpses deserved a proper burial. You are going to make sure that they will rest in peace. Rolled: 1D100 => 64+40=104

It was… a simple matter. The bodies of your family… every single one of them was brought to the family home.

The pyres had taken much of the month to prepare…

You needed to make sure that they would not destroy your home.

Each was individually placed on a pyre… and Vhaeron would do the rest.

His blue flames engulfed each pyre.

And there was nothing left but ash.

The Past had died with your family…

Only the future remained.

Reward: Your Family has been placed to rest.

There is nothing left to cling onto.

You feel a little better about life.

Some closure and starting on the road to recovery.

-[X]Ride your Dragon: You want to fly away for awhile… Spend time with the only thing that cares about you. Rolled: 1D100 => 95+110= 205

Vhaeron had felt the pain that you had been through… the terrible loss that had affected you had also affected him.

His protectiveness for you had only increased since you returned home. Every night when you went to sleep, he rested with one eye open outside your room, wrapping his head around the door and keeping his eye on you.

But that was not the strangest thing…

You had heard him speak in your mind…

A soft, comforting voice. "Sleep now, brother… For we are one, and all."

When you woke again… you were on his back, at a small cave in the mountains. Blue flames were glowing in the dark, prepared by your dragon.

"Look to your hand, and see the mark I have given." The Dragon whispered in your mind. "My power is yours… if you learn… and you trust in our bond."

And on it was a mark of the Dragon… a scale on your hand… growing and replacing the skin. "Then what happens?" You asked.

"I can only offer so much… But it is enough for you to learn my powers… and gain your own."

Reward: Dragon Hearted Morphs into the Trait: Dragon Bonded: You draw on your dragon's supernatural vitality to resist disease and poison. His voice speaks in your mind as if you understand him… And his magic is your to command… if you learn how to access it. (You may now learn Dragonite Magic... ??? Addition to Dragon knowledge. Interesting things have begun to change in your body to be able to handle that great power that Dragon gives you)

Life begins to feel… a little better. In some ways at least.

Warning: Going too far down the dragon path is… dangerous and may possibly lead to mutation. And death… as the Human body can only handle so much change before it up and dies.

Did our dude just become Eragon from The Inheritance Cycle? Hand marked by Dragon? Check. Telepathy with Dragon Partner? Check. Dragon Magic? Check.

-[X]My Best Friend: Rhaerya came riding in on her horse… she wanted to see you… to make sure you were okay. After all, that's what friends were for. 1D100 => 100+50=150

Rhaerya came to you on horseback, a few weeks after your little adventure with Vhaeron. She came when you were watching the fountain slowly refill and drain… the wonders of the villa, so captivating in your youth, was something that filled you with great sadness.

This place was silent… utterly silent without the running of children. The shouting of workers and family members playing with each other, whether it be games, training or just a random imaginative struggle.

With stories of the past quietly filling them with greatness.

"Rhaegon?" She said your name as she dismounted. Ethereal was her beauty, that was all you could describe her as. A goddess taken in human form. Someone who was completely unworthy of being seen by the lowest of the low… Like you. "Are you okay?"

Her hand went towards your injured hand, but you pulled away, turning away, not wanting to face her. "I'm okay."

"Did you do that to yourself?" She asked.

You didn't answer her. "Why are you here?" You asked. "There's nothing here for you… there's nothing to gain from a tainted family."

She frowned. "Is that all you think I am, some woman who wishes to use you!? To replace the family that was lost so mine can replace it?"

You glared at her, your eyes showing your anger and grief. "Isn't it? That was what your father wanted."

"My father does not control me." She stated. "You of all people should know that."

You did not say anything for a moment, trying your best to say something that could strike a pain in her mind.

"Then why didn't he veto Gaenar's Law to execute my father! My family! He was the only Tribune that could have done so!" You shouted.

There was no word that she could say that could strike back at you, even her wit and cleverness had limits.

Except she slapped you in the face, both with words, and her hand. "Because he's a coward who cares more for power than his family…And I would rather be with you, a disgraced man who lost his family, than him."

You froze. Everything still hurts...But she then gave you a hug. "I'd rather be with my family… and that family is you."

Reward: Ally Gained: Rhaerya Agaelor joins your villa.

You begin feeling so much better.

Number 1 Waifu Confirmed.

Suicide Roll:1D100 => 37-10=27

You cried… You cried so hard that you did not feel the comfort of your dragon in your mind, keeping you safe.

But Rhaerya was the one who kept your feet firmly on the ground.

She was the one who stopped you from jumping…

She was saving you.

Reward: You are beginning to heal.

But the ghosts still haunt your dreams. Begging for revenge.

@Magoose Quick question which is worse rolling high on this or rolling low? Also, is the minus 10 because of Depressed trait or the fact that we now have a very good friend in the form of Rhaerya?

Yes... Yes he did.

Only in this world... he's kinda turning into a dragon... or at least a hybrid of a dragon, or a human with dragon charicteristics because of it.

Because magic is a bitch and has consequences in it's use.

Rolling low.

That minus ten was because of depressed, but it would have been 50 if you had not done anything to help your depression, and getting closure.

With your dragon, and friend, that took 40 off from the roll, and it will only be -10 until depressed is gone.

So, I take it Omake-Bonuses don't apply to the Depression Roll then?

Woof, we would have tried to kill ourselves if we didn't ride our dragon or see our friend then? -50 is pretty steep, glad we did not have roll against that. That 100 and 95 tho

Yep.

But then I would have... well, have a mania induced adventure... and that would be fun... because only I know where you were going.

Name: Rhaerya Agaelor

Alias: None

Religion: Valyrian Pantheon: You worship the Gods of Valyria, the great Pantheon that is ever-changing, expanding… yet remaining true to the values of Valyria, and Valyria only. (You can marry up to Three women, and taking concubines is not considered Taboo. You may marry close relatives, in fact, they are encouraged to promote the purity of Dragonblood. The Tradition's passed on through the church helps with hatching and raising dragons.)

Age: 17

Skills:

Fighting Ability: (Competent): You are passable with the blade, but you are not what one calls a master. Quite the opposite, in a fair fight, you would die against a man who is skilled with a blade. (No Bonus to Combat rolls)

Dragon Knowledge (Competent): They Say Valyria was built on the backs of Dragons… that is true, and to know dragons is to have great power. You don't have the power… but you understand it nonetheless. (No bonus to Dragon Knowledge rolls)

Magic (Master): Your Grandmother is a sorceress. And in that, you are a practitioner of the magic craft that has made Valyria so powerful, in it's blades, it's dragons… and it's people. (+30 to magic rolls. You are now capable of using offensive magic, drawing from your lifeforce, or the power from a nearby dragon)

Diplomat (Competent): The Way of The Valyrian Senate is that of Rhetoric, reputation and balls of steel. You have none of that… as you are a woman… and untrained in the finer points of diplomacy (no bonus to Diplomacy Rolls)

Command (Incompetent): The Art of Warfare is a well-known fact of the world, and you are ignorant of it… you have no training to speak of.(No bonus to Battle rolls when you are in command.)

Steward (Competent): You are decent with coin. A household would survive, if not particularly thrive…if you were in charge of finances. (no bonus to Steward rolls)

Schemer (Skilled): You are not one of the great masters of spies and intrigue that many hoped you would be, considering your talent. But you are skilled enough to stay alive. (+10 to the Rolls of Intrigue)

Traits:

Ethereal: Your beauty is without question, the greatest in the world. You are the most beautiful woman in the world. (+30 to diplomacy Rolls. This Trait is genetic, and can be passed onto your children)

Genius: You have a mind that is bright, without question… so even say… it's very bright. (+10 to all rolls This Trait is genetic, and can be passed onto your children)

Kind: This generous and gentle person is friendly to all, and will only fight or kill when it is necessary, and after all attempts at diplomacy have failed. (+30 to diplomacy rolls, -20 to Personal Combat rolls and -10 to intrigue rolls. Certain Actions are locked out due to your kindness.)

Just: Fairness, morality, and law. This person seeks to balance all accounts, by forgiveness and retribution alike. (+10 to Stewardship rolls. You are viewed with popularity by the Freehold smallfolk and middling noble families of the Freehold)

Stubborn: An individual who only changes their mind or backs down with the hardest difficulty. Even physical harm does not dissuade them. (+5 to all rolls. If you fail a roll, you gain more stress)

Proud: This person is convinced that them being or will be, the best is an indisputable fact. Any who stand in the way of this are destined to be trampled underfoot. (+15 to all rolls involving your family, and actions that gain you fame. The Freehold is… mixed at you)

Does the Ethereal trait give the bonus only against guys and gals attracted to women like Crusader Kings or is it 30+ generally @Magoose? I totally want us to learn some non-draconic magic from her, is that possible? That would be awesome and sounds useful, if maybe involving a bit too much blood for my liking.
And she's not even trained in Diplomacy yet! She is great at it without even trying!!

We're gonna romance that Girl. I hope no one disagrees.
We should definitely let her do the talking whenever we can, seems like she is a good person as well, so I'm glad we have her around. I'd like to keep her as a friend, but I'm sure most people would like to romance her, that is personal preference though, I doubt most of you guys would like Raegon to hook up with another guy, if that option ever even comes up. I won't be sad or disappointed though if they end up together. They'd be good for each other I think.

No arguments from me because remember this turn was all about making sure we didn't suicide ourselves. Now we are putting on the big boy gloves.

Plus, if we train her in diplomacy then that 75 is turning into something around 125. Although, she could get traits that enhance it further later, so for her the sky is the limit.

No... It makes you attractive to everyone. It's an unnatural beauty, one that gets everyone's attention.

Not from her, but her grandmother... whom you cannot meet yet... your still tainted goods in her eyes. Come back when you are a hero to the republic.

While I am also not against doing that... you must remember three very important things.

1. Rhaegon is a depressive mess who has lost his entire family. And he's expected to rebuild the line someway or another.

2. Adoption is not... well it's not popular amongst the Forty Families, who above all else, love bloodline purity. So if we married a man(a not very common occurrence amongst the legion, all they care about is unit disipline), and chose the adoption route, we'd be alienated further, by the kill your gay's group in the Senate. Which is most of them.

3. Rhaegon is... well he's never really been interested in any form of relationships outside of his family and Rhaeyna... that's why their deaths hit him so hard.
I mean +75 diplomacy rolls. Can she serve as our chief diplomat and do diplomatic action or do we have to wait.
Well lets just say when your gone, and she's running our household (either as a friend, or wife), she will try her best to repair the family's reputation.
