Luck and Rebuke
Amongst the arsenal of the Saurus and Skinks there are many esoteric and powerful items. Although much of the time these weapons are not required for the Saurus to fulfil their debts to humans, but their drive to fit our best warriors with the most appropriate wargear has caused them to open even their deepest vaults in search of the perfect items.
For Prince Tormod, this task was especially hard, as examination by Saurus Elders and Skink priests seemed to indicate that his condition is more complex than our present understanding of the warp implies. Yet it is one that both sides of the Lizardmen seem to be familiar with, as the Saurus Elders consulted their records in search of the location of two very interesting artefacts after they finished their inspections.
They explained that while they could simply present him with items to increase his durability in the end no shield is flawless, especially against the tides of fate that pressed around him.
Instead they brought forth a shield and sword from the depths of the temple cities of Hexotal and Tlaxtlan, the cities of the sun and moon, placed there as appropriate for two artefacts with very different purposes.
The legend behind both are old, but to Prince Tormod are intimately familiar, of a Saurus beset on all sides by circumstance and fate, touched to end up in extraordinary situations both bizarre and dangerous.
As such his chosen weapon started to take on aspects of that legend, amplifying his luck in ways both good and bad. In an effort to safeguard what they hoped would be a legend if they could survive, the Kroxigor of the Saurus crafted him a shield, channel his luck towards a positive end, rather than a negative one.
Thus were the foundations set for the twin items that have been given to Tormod, so as one can likely expect the tale of the Saurus ended in death.
While the artefacts certainly let them survive longer than anticipated, eventually an Incursion of Tzeench came, with a powerful Exalted Lord of Change leading the charge of Chaos towards the First City, Itza.
It is said that the very first incursion of chaos, led by the First Exalted of Chaos created by Khorne was broken upon these walls by the Ancient One, branding him and by extension the Lizardmen as Chaos's Eternal enemy, and since then every Chaos God has spent incalculable resources trying and failing to destroy the first city as a blow against the Lizardmen.
This time was no different, but this particular Exalted was cleverer than most, putting almost all of its vast power into trapping the Ancient One within a morase of stopped time, bypassing the Great Enemies immunity to powers and filling the maze with countless honoured daemons that delayed the approach of the Ancient One.
With its greatest threat delayed the Daemon and its legions advanced upon Itza as the defenders prepared to dearly sell their lives, as the young fate twisted acted, their luck simultaneously dooming them and elevating them to the upper limits of heroism.
For three whole minutes they delayed the Exalted, the interruption enough for the defenders to hold the wall and the Ancient One to escape and permanently cut down the Exalted, the Eternal city delivered once again.
It was at the moment of the Fate torn's death that their relics became artefacts and they were born to the cities of the Sun and Moon in memorial of them. Now that another with the same condition has emerged they give them to Tormod in hopes that they will help him manage his fate and make use of it.
Xhar-toltaric: The Lucksmith's Blade (+2C, 15 pen, causes the user to reroll rolls, takes the most extreme roll of all possible rolls unless paired with the Rebuke of fortune, causes criticals to cascade) The Blade of the Lucksmith amplifies the effect of one Touched by the winds of fate, and can cause great tragedy or impossible fortune.
Xhal-Tortrek: The Rebuke of Fortune (+200 to resist warp effects, +4 armour, when paired with the Lucksmith's blade has a DC35 chance to allow choosing of the most positive roll, provides a reroll on death) Crafted from bedrock taken from the upper reaches of the caverns, this stone shield was carved by the best Kroxigor Crafters to protect one touched by fate from luck's fickle fury.

Idea for Tormod's artefact sword and shield.
If he gets it then at most Tormod would be rolling 8 D100s if he rolls, then he gets rids reroll and then the blade rerolls again.
