I've seen nowhere before that they had 100+ companies. Either we didn't know, or I overread it and the chart wasn't updated. Either is possible.
They've had 25,000 marines for a while its even in the most recent trust update
25,000 Space Marines
Which was quite a while ago.

At present they're focusing on improving skill levels and increasing their veteran core before creating a new chapter.

Wait a secy.

@Durin
Isn't now the time to start deploying the thunder warriors en mass?

It seems like the kind of thing they were built for and all.

I'm assuming that's where the 10 First Companies come from.

We have 5 regiments of them. Not sure how many we've actually made at this point.

[X] Plan Hold the Line
General Defense
-[] General Rakes
-[]Militia- While not as good as your regulars the best regiments of the Hvergelmir make up a good forty percent of your forces and are not a major liability. -10 quality
-[]Regulars- Most of the professional forces you have access to are Regulars drawn from the Midgardian Iron Guard and similar formations, they are decent soldiers and can be trusted to hold the line, most of the time. +0 quality
-[] Grenadiers - A full sixth of your forces are drawn from elite formations such as the Avernite PDF and the Midgaridan Chosen, these units can be counted on to hold even when the odds are against them . +10 quality
-[] Master of Sanctity Horatius Cocles

Infiltration Defense
-[] Chapter Master Julius
[] Psykers- The psychic senses of your Battle Psykers are invaluable in spotting the Tyranid infiltrators, though they lack the numbers to be the main combat arm in this. +10 quality
[]- Astartes are some of the few forces that can match the Tyranid infiltrators in their preferred environment and come out victorious, and you have thousands of them to deploy. +15 quality
[] Eldar- Eldar Rangers and Striking Scorpions are some of the most deadly stealth troops that you have access to, and Wraithguard as some of your best guards. Between their numbers, skills and psychic powers these forces are your best counter to infiltrators, and could possibly counter the infiltration by themselves. +25 quality
-[] Sir Pellinore
-[] Jane oakheart

Breakthrough Countering
-[] Governor Rotbart
-[] Power Armoured Grenadiers - Most of your remaining forces your forces are drawn from those elite formations equipped with power armour such as the Svartalfar Guard and the Avernite Helltroopers, these formations will be able to push back the Tyranids, most of the time. +0 quality
[] Psykers- The concentrated combat pwoer of your Battle Psyker Regiemnts and Psychic might of your Choirs could prove essential in countering enemy breakthoughs. +5 quality
[] Thunder Warriors
[] Eldar- Since the rise of the Ynnari ELdar have become one of the most powerful forces in the galaxy man for man, with their Wraith Legions able to slay almsot any foe. +20 quality
[] Deploy Imperial Trust Superheavies- The Imperial Trust has a decent number of superheavy vehicles in this fight, of which the Knight-Titans of the Aesir are the most numerous. While you lack the numbers to suffer heavy losses a push by a concentrated force of Superheavies is near unstoppable
[] Grandmaster Xavier, Jacob Oakheart

Titan Hunting
-[] Use Bio-Titan Poison- The poison that Archmagos Biologis Maximal developed will allow your regular forces to take out the Bio-Titans without to much trouble, though as soon as it is deployed the Hive Fleet will begin working on adaptions to counter it.
-[] Deploy Imperial Trust Titan Hunters- A mix of Fellswords, Northern Sentinels and Knight-Titans should be enough to take out the Bio-Titans, though not without losses.

-[]The Companions of Varen, Lord Marshall Hrothgar of the Aesir,

[] Use new poison as soon as Tyranids adapt Current

Ok my reasoning is that we have to hold the line for the next 1-2 months. The tryanids are about to get desperate and I see a escalation happening soon so I want to shore up our defenses. I put Rakes on general defense since that is his specialty. Julius on Infiltration duty since space marines usually do special ops such as hunting Lictors and such. I put Rotbart on breakthrough countering since he is the best attack general we have. I have deployed most of our hero's in areas where they specialize. I believe we should hold make the Eldar till the Tryanids try their main breakthrough. Remember these was designed to be a meat grinder and we need to hold back some counters for when the tryanids adapt.

[X] Plan Hold the Line

Comparing the ground forces to the start of the war we have gained one General Aleksander Andreassen and then lost:
1 knight court, 8 companies of VG, 2 companies of VG Scouts, 5 companies of BD, 92 PDF Armies, 216 guard armies, 534 Grenadier Corps, 38 PA Corps, 115 militia Siege Armies and 257 battle pysker regiments.
That is a minimum of 1120 VG space marines and 200+ VG scouts, 500+ Blood dragon Astartes.
11.5 billion Militia, 9.2 billion PDF, 21.6 billion guard, 5.34 billion grenadiers, 380 million Power Armoured men and 308+ thousand psykers.
48.02 billion people and rising.
At least right now.

We've lost nearly 60% of our Guard Armies, 48% of our Grenadiers, roughly 40% of our militia and 100% of our PDF Armies. That sacrifice has bought us relatively lighter casualties among our elites.

No matter how you look at it, this is a nightmare. I can only imagine the horrors the SecundusQuartus is facing with the living metal nids.

Quartus.

Secundus is the one dealing with the pissed off C'tan.

Callamus is relatively safe right now.

@Nurgle could you rewrite your plan without the [x] so it doesn't mess up the vote tally?

so how well are we doing overall on the strategic level

Our conventional forces have suffered roughly 50% casualties. Our elites are in much better shape.

Military turns have no vote moratorium

Assuming that the volume of the average human body is 0.07 m^3, you could build the great wall of China almost 30 times over with the dead.
EDIT: That's just the bodies, not the wargear.
I wish there was a "Horrified" reaction I could give for this. It's easy to forget the true horrific scale these conflicts operate on. And to think this is but a minuscule fragment of the intergalactic fleet the Necrons have been fighting in dark space. :o
