Actually we blew Tranth's expidition good will on Sanctus Foreum.

The main issue is that we've no idea what state the conservative faction is in at the moment.

And in battle sure.

For assassinations which we will probably need to keep the orks from mobilising, not as many.

Also should we get the other luna ruin before we send Tranth off?
We have goodwill margin. The conservative faction will only get stronger the longer the mere thought of annoying them makes us back down. You want a more progressive Ad Mech? consistently do progressive things without the sky falling in until it becomes the new normal.

I'm not backing down at the thought of irritating them, I'm cautious because these guys still control a majority of the admech's military and the Vanir shipyards and kicking us half way to civil war strikes me as not great.

The loss of the latter could be especially devastating.

And no unfortunately the only way to get rid of them is the waiting game. We can reduce their power, we have already done so immensely, but until they start dying enmass there's no getting rid of them permanently.*

And no they are not going to become stronger by us doing nothing. We did nothing for over a century and they did not crush progressiveness, they don't have the power.

The real issue is that we have no idea how powerful they are at the moment. We don't know how much the demographics have shifted within the admech.

*Ok this is starting to bug me HOW OLD IS THIS GUY!
The highest ranked conservative in the Imperial Trust is Archmagos Arkhan Varnek, the leader of Vanaheim's Mechanicus and the human in the Imperial Trust. This eight hundred year old Archmagos is a traditionalist and is highly uncomfortable with the changes that have been made over the last century. While not vocal in his opposition to the Avernite Fabricator-Generals his disapproval is still public, which given his seniority and rank is a major issue. Archmagos Varnek is currently conisderd to be the third ranking member of the Mechanicus in the Imperial Trust behind Fabricator-General Scott and Archmagos Veneratus Tranth.
He was eight hundred when we investigated him and that was in year 100.

its year 255 now. He's around 955. Admech can at max live 1000 years. Bastard's gotta die soon right? Or is he just going to keep living out of spite?

So, couple points/ideas.

For Void Command, shipyard construction will not be done in time to reduce completion time for our repairs from this set of battles meaningfully. While I'm not opposed to working on upgrading our ability to handle ship construction/repair, I would prefer to spend at least one of our actions upgrading defenses—the ones surrounding Avernus are well below the minimum planned level and having the shipyard defenses slip relative to the value of the shipyard as a target is worrisome.

For Diplomacy on the Areatha front, would it be possible to effectively do a trial run where we spend a year with her visiting the University (and potentially Lin) with the idea of giving her an open pass providing nothing too outrageous occurs? A year of more controlled interactions should give both us and her a bit more of an idea of what to expect and reduce the odds of stumbling over something really bad.

For Mechanicus, I'd really like to have the Mindcatcher worked out before we look into the Gravatic Array computing. Some technology that evened out the cyber warfare front between humans and AI could be exactly the sort of cheat solution needed to cheese the computing requirements of that thing. If successful I imagine a lot of those that called for its destruction (aka the most rabidly anti-AI techpriest factions) will have a lot of egg on their face too...

For the Telepathica, it doesn't look like the massed songweavers requires Tamia, although it might benefit from her anyway. That said, even though it's immensely valuable expanding our Choir size and skill, I think getting the runes we're about to purchase integrated into our forces by our best psychic researcher and rune specialist by far would be better for now. I'd also like to remind people that we've got an action to look into the weird metal Jacob's Sword was made from, the Alpha tutoring if I'm reading it right, and some critter powers for her to look into in the mean time.

For Runes, I'd also like for people to consider the Reinforcement one, as well as inverted fire and inverted air. Reinforcement sounds like it should/could provide a real survivability upgrade to our psykers from better armor in addition to things like reinforcing our walls in the case of siege. Inverse fire should improve our ability to handle heat/energy weapons, as well as possibly letting some of our forces duplicate the Muspelheim trick of setting everything on fire and fighting in it, while inverse air could immensely aid or atmospheric craft speed and maneuverability, as well as stealth.

Don't mean to sound pushy, because I'm honestly trying not to be, but have you reconsidered having Aria make the order of Psyker hunters? Because like I mentioned we are going to need to do that anyway and we don't really have any pressing matters in regards to those kinds of actions while it would extremely beneficial to have it up and running as soon as possible. Not seeing a reason not to either considering that Aria is the best person for the job.

I was really hoping the VG would recruit our first male alpha, at least if they looked like they could be hot stuff.

Clearly Pavlov did not make the cut.

Does anyone know how the grey knights compare to our psykers. Obviously have some advantages but I can't imagine they're comparible in raw power. Probably could beat any of them in a fight though.

They recruit for control and skill not raw power, but given that at a minimum each Grey Knight would be a hero of another chapter at this point on non psycic skills alone I'd say they're a lot better than anyone we have save our heroics.

And even then as its the best anti psyker power set, Daemology mastery is likely. Say hi to the constantly teleporting, phased terminator armoured death brigade.

+ they're almost impossibly resistant to psycic attacks.

Given that we're likely to still have a heightened number of souls this turn, I'm of the opinion that we should wait until next turn before deciding on purchases.

SLOT A - Year 1
-Y1: Repair Workshops
-- EXPEDITE YEAR 1
Didn't inverted_helix mathematically prove that this is a net negative on resources unless we massively expand our military?

-Y5: Sirens Trade (<TBD>)
We're still on a souls glut so I think this should be delayed. I recommend replacing it with a Persons of Interest, focused on either Lulana or Areatha.

-Y5: Gravatic Array: Computing Issues
I recommend waiting on this action until we're done with the Mindcatchers. Those things may enable us to solve the computing issues problem so we should check them out first.

-Y1: Valinor Campaign: Support
-Y2: Psychic Materials (Blink Spiders)
-Y3: Research (Illusion Pines)
-Y4: Research (Spiderbane Dragonfly)
-Y5: Valinor Campaign: Support
Honestly, the campaign really doesn't need any more hero support. It's going fine on its own and Aria isn't going to make a real difference. Stick her on more research so we can continue getting through the backlog.

Agree that it just feels pointless to have Aria get involved in the campaign which I voiced earlier. We already know that Valinor sent the majority of it's best forces in the invasion of Avernus and they pretty much have no army. Throw in that we already sent Xavier along with most of the battle psykers and it just feels pointless and a waste with it being overkill.

Aria is qualified to set that up but I beliefe combat psyker in general are that already.
What Tamia needs to do is set up the order of interference (focussed on disrupting psykic workings)
That reminds me, should we maybe order some human terminator armor for our heroes to be made? Don't think we are ever going to get any otherwise.
We bought some for our heroes already. The RM cost stops us from producing them.

Asked Durin and he outright said that specced psykers would be flat out better. The thing is that battle psykers are generalists when it comes to combat meaning that while they are good at many forms of combat they don't really specialize in any form of combat. Put it another way, while we had people that were able to create wards and heal we didn't have people solely dedicated to it so we founded orders to do so making them better than generalists.

Psyker hunters would be solely specialized in skills dedicated to countering psykers specifically making them outright better than battle psykers at fighting psykers since they would not be splitting focus into other areas of powers since they would only focus on a very specific area.

What Tamia needs to do is set up the order of interference (focussed on disrupting psykic workings)

Pretty sure that is exactly one of the main areas that the psyker hunter order would be focusing on.

1. What exactly is involved in the trade deal? Trade of alkhestrical components for the final products, or trade of tech. For instance us trading the equivilant of tech levels 1-2 in exchange for them educating our psykers on how to do our own Alkhestry? Or wait and see?
2. Does Lulana know of any Alkhestrical stuff that produces permanent physical boosts with out negative side effects? Bit of a pipe dream I know, but one can hope?
3. Has Lulana expressed any interest in meeting with the Mycenids? They're far enough away that I doubt the two species would ahve interacted much and the Mycenids probably could provide a lot of compounds for the Nynye.
4. Can we do a person's of interest on Lulana?
1. it is finding that out
2. sort of, the price in unborn embryos of the same species is a bit high though
3. yes
4. yes

Right this is our budget.

So currently Focus -5000 the one our psykers really want

53952

Warding -25000 the one OOC we really want.

28952

Enchanting -15000

13952

Power-8000

5952

reinforcement -5000

952 remaining.

That would be my preferred purchasing spread. Can someone check my math and opinions?
