I could go for more Alphas appearing, assuming the ones we get can be deployed in combat we could really use them for anti Gargant work.
Well, we do have a lot of lesser Psykers for the Lesser Daemons.

Massacre Machine Dreads and Gants will likely needs at least a Gamma to kill though. Probably a Beta.

Jacobs Letter to Mommy
Omake - Jacobs Letter to Mommy

'Music is the key to life'

You use to say that Mom use to say that all the time to me when she showed me her music videos. She was an Opera singer from Salem originally and she even did a duet with the Desert Witch in her honor after the war of the Pink skies. She's a hardcore veteran and my dad was cool too. They called you the voice of the wind in that one magazine because they said that every body that heard you stayed to FEEL your voice.

I remember dad making me finish my third plate of food so that we could go to that one benefits concert for the City Orphanage. Everyone loved your songs and I never got bored with all of those songs you performed.

My name now though is Jacob Oakheart because my new mommy doesn't have a baby. She says that she loves me more than anything and she's always watching out for me alot. Every morning she checks my body for spider bites and other bed bugs. She picks me up for school in her APC that she owns! She's mega cool about letting me park it sometimes too if I get good grades.

I really miss you mommy but I wanted to send this letter to you at church so that you know I'm going to be okay. Saint Lin says that those who were loyal to the Emperor are always by his side and that's why I know that your probably going to be given center stage to entertain him and everyone else.

Oh and I still practice my instrument in the shower like you use to when you washed me. My music teacher is even going to be giving me a part in the Annual Music Festival that my new mommy promised she would be taking me too. She's been trying to get me to focus on fighting with swords and i'm good with that too. I hope that one day I can be a great singer like you and swordsmen like my new mommy she-

OH THAT'S RIGHT!

remember that lady you said beat up a psyker while trapped in an inferno of evil fires? It's her! The adoption agency said her name is Jane Oakeheart. I remember one Jane in kindergarten class room. Maybe they know each other? Who knows though right?

Well with that good bye for now mom. Tell dad i'm still eating 3 plates like he said I should to join the Catachans.

*END*

The idea here is that Jacob is still young and deals with his more social problems with the written word and singing. Jane for her part does show alot of attention and shower him with her love as a mother but this is still developing. His age here is 5 or 6 and his naivety is still quite high despite the death of his parents. Oh and like most kids at that age he's pretty ambitious.

EDIT: I re-wrote this a bit so the narrative is kinda bad. Sorry :(

So, interesting turn.

It sounds like the campaign against the Orks has been going really, really well. Which it should, given the sheer quantity of resources we're throwing at it with Diviner support. Hopefully we also get some decent bonuses from the campaign in terms of experience given our losses—we might be able to start reducing our malus to Navy martial and Xavier seems like he hasn't gotten a trait in a while. Then there's the 'standard' improvements we get from Lessons Learned...

Admin-side we're beginning to run out of cities to fortify. Which is, quite frankly, nothing but good news—having them fully reinforced to the limit of our ability to afford before the Orks start going nuts will be lovely. Soon we'll probably be able to focus a good number of admin actions towards further refining our education system and maybe closing up the Thrones deficit we're running. I'm still leery about trying to run the rail line under the bay, even if it would be a very good thing to have defensively.

Siren trade is going to take a while to show further dividends, but the banishing rune looks amazing. Once Tamia finishes researching that we should probably have focus on either the Orkish counterfrequencies so that we can start figuring out how to use those before everything goes to shit or having her improve Songweaving. Or founding an order, but an order either for Songweaving or Siren Runes would probably be premature.

Gerald getting injured sucks, but one year of enforced downtime is manageable. I would really like for him to get back to some long-term work—either continuing the Warding crusade or starting to found orders. Ridcully is going to need to start using actions to stir up the civil war too, and it's probably as close to an ideal time to do so as we're going to get—our own army shouldn't need much oversight given that we're on mop-up for the near future.

We should have Lin spend a good bit of the next five years on Those in Shadows—we have a significant number of powerful psykers coming up and the attrition rate on battle psykers is likely to be fairly brutal. Plus, the conversion efforts seem to be going well without needing an additional +20 to the roll from doing it twice.

I don't get why everyone's on the Jane in the Inquisition thing. Jane is amazingly skilled at what she does, but she hasn't managed to get to the point where she's trained her subordinates to make her truly redundant. In fact, I would really like it if we had enough Jane actions to let her hunt psykers twice each turn instead of once every other turn—she adds a LOT to our ability to deal with Chaos psykers just with her personal participation. Plus, if she went Inquisition we wouldn't get the indirect bonus to our Chaos psyker hunting that having her in charge of training and organizing our anti-psyker forces.

Oh i'm not saying put her in the inquisition. I was trying to joke about that.

I'm just saying that if Jacob became her right hand man then she may have even less to do depending on how he turns out. She has to be the one who does the administrative work and he has to go out and fight.

Or they turn into battle buddies and shank Chaos Psykers together.

I'd suggest Choosers of the Slain, but that seems a bit off.

Hmm. Anyone here really deep in Norse myth?

Otherwise I'm just going to start digging into Morrowind names for fun and bad jokes.

That was me wondering out load if that's a future goal of hers and making a hypothetical argument as to maybe why, no one, me included, has stated that she should go.

I have a few questions @Durin

1. IIRC we have taken Heavy rearm for both Helguard and Helltroopers, but we the only rearm option we had for the PDF was "light", how long until we got the other two PDF rearm?
2 Capturing and moving the Chaotic Psykers to the sirens is very difficult, but are they sure to move if they are in a stasis field/chamber?
2.1 If chaotic psykers can be safely moved during stasis, can we equip the psyker and/or witcher hunters with stasis grenades and stasis chambers to capture the psykers feasible?
3 How much "regular souls" is worth the souls of the different categories of psykers for the sirens?

I can't really say anything from Norse mythology really comes to mind. I mean, the einherjar fit pretty well, but the term is already taken in the Trust. Something based on Heimdall would be a good fit as he was a warrior-god as well as the one who kept watch over shit, but my ability to do conjugation in ancient Norse is non-existent.

Alternatively, it could go another direction and use the Norse equivalent for knights (skutilsveinr), but that does imply a level of social status that the Elite Operative program just doesn't have...

Then again, someone more into Norse mythology than myself might have something better.

*Norse nerd here*

Call them the Ulfhednar, they're Odin's chosen elite. Noted to make Berserkers look like children in some sources I've seen.

Berserker - Wikipedia

I like it but i'd like to make it easier on poor durin when writing up that name in updates and stories.

EDIT:

How about Emperor's Wolves?

Ulfhednar are also called 'wolf-coats' also I think. An the originals are berserkers. An the Ulfhenar are basically berserker vikings with extra skill that work for Odin.

How about just The Emperor's Wolves or Hunter Wolves? Make it like there always out there hunting for danger like a pack of animals. An wolves are noticusly good pack attack animals. Plus being in a pack/group is very avernite and a corner stone of the culture itself. Not being in a group and going solo is literally known as suacide.

Question: What's the difference between Helguard and HelTrooper? They both seem like power armored infantry.
