I've added the last two actions.

I wouldn't count on having many open military actions next year. If we spend the year campaigning on Alfheim we may not have the personal attention to give, as we won't be there, and we're going to want to be building up

For example, if we're fighting the Tyranids, we're really going to want to get both Deathstrike Missiles and Macharius Heavy tanks to counter tyranid synapse creatures as soon as possible, and that's not mentioning the Vikings that are obvious. I think we need them more than Limberlost.

At least two regular military actions will open up because Militia and Wargaming Grounds will be completed this year.

Also, you're still not doubling down on something. Tarot or Warp Scanners would be best, in your plan.

[X]Constant Recruitment: Psyker Hunters
-[X]Expedite: Constant Recruitment: Psyker Hunters

I don't think we can expedite this - it's a training program, not a building action.

Can we expedite Collegia?

Yes. My plan has it expedited.

Welp, as more or less expected - Alfheim.

When we're sending ships, I'm thinking we could have the Star Fort towed (that's how it's moved :p) to Alfheim. It'd make for a pretty potent base, as it's supposed to be capable of sheltering damaged vessels and doing repairs even during battle.

Heck, it could probably be carrying a few of our defense monitors...

(I dream of double Star Forts above Alfheim - I recall Vanaheim has one too... :p)

[X] Send Aid to Alfheim

I really hate that we didn't do Vikings last turn, but this is what we gotta do - our personal attentions are locked, so we can't drop one on one and the Munitorum action on the other.

[X] Population Pressure: Expand Hollin: Phase One
[X] Asteroid Miners

Let's take care of the population pressure in the longer term and start up some asteroid mining.

[X] Establish Embassy: Svartalfheim
[X] Diplomatic Contact: Jotunheim

Continuing to get embassies and contacts. Us leading those thousand regiments is probably a good idea, all things considered. We know the training and equipment of our Guard the best.

[X] Constant Recruitment: Psyker Hunters

We need this organization reinforced.

[X] Try to complete STC fragment: Warp Scanners
[X] Try to complete STC fragment: Wider Bandwidth Vox

I want to start clearing out the STCs; vox bandwidth is a nice little quality-of-life for military intelligence, and the warp scanners should help with... hmmm... what's after 'nids? :p

[X] Emperor's Tarot
-[X] Double Down on Emperor's Tarot

Continue trying to get this

[X] Lead Reinforcements

Let's do this :p

================

Now, we have a thousand regiments to send, with 5 wings counting as a regiment and an armour regiment to count as a single regiment.

I'm thinking first we send all the Guards and the Black Irons; our PDF is pretty damn strong, and with the militia finishing up this year we should be good on dealing with wildlife.

A nice chunk of the air force - in the vicinity of half - is a nice addition - and a bunch of our interceptors and star bombers.

Now, the PDF. I wouldn't send Rough Riders, all things considered; the mounts are nothing special (yet - perhaps we'll crack that Phase Tiger rider thing ^_~) and are quite liable to spook against 'Nids.

Armour and mechanized infantry, definitely. A rounding out of others, of course.

[] Plan "I said 'everyone'!" (1000/1000 slots)
-[] Imperial Guard (158 slots)
--[] Guard Infantry x30
--[] Guard Mech Infantry x18
--[] Guard Light Infantry x25
--[] Guard Heavy Infantry x18
--[] Guard Armour x20
--[] Guard Drop Infantry x33
--[] Guard Baneblade Squadrons x8
--[] Guard Vanquisher x1
--[] Black Irons Mechanized Infantry x15
-[] Air (75 slots)
--[] Thunderbolt Fighter Wing x50
--[] Lightning Fighter Wing x30
--[] Psyrodactyl Lightning Fighter Wing x3
--[] Avenger Strike Fighter Wing x25
--[] Marauder Bomber Wing x20
--[] Wings of Thungder Marauder Bomber Wing x4
--[] Marauder Vigilant Wing x4
--[] Cargo Shuttle Wing x14
-[] Space (24 slots)
--[] Fury Interceptor Wing x80
--[] Starhawk Bomber Wing x80
-[] Planetary Defense Forces (743 slots)
--[] PDF Mechanized Infantry x100
--[] PDF Armour x150
--[] PDF Heavy Infantry x50
--[] PDF Light Infantry x150
--[] PDF Infantry x368

I think nobody in the subsector can complain we didn't give 110% with this. And that's a side benefit of sending a full thousand - making a positive impression on the subsector.

As for worries about leaving things light on Avernus:

1. Our PDF now is about as strong as our Guard was a few years back.
2. Militia finishes up, meaning that we've got little worries about wildlife short of something significant.
3. We're still leaving quite a few regiments - all the rough riders and some of each category of PDF regiment.
4. In space, we have defense monitors and our seriously heavy orbital defenses, so leaving 'only' thirty wings of interceptors and bombers is going to be plenty.
5. Likewise our planetary air force is in pretty good shape.

Finally, we want to hit hard; the faster we can clean out pockets of 'Nids that make it to the ground the less biomass they'll have for the next wave, and the one after that.

We're not voting on this yet, please remove the X's so as not to clutter up the vote tallies.

EDIT - Thanks.

@durin : Will we be able to build Macharius Vanquishers after we examine DAoT Vanquishers we found?

Also, nobody is finding it odd that we are basically finding DAoT versions of PDF and militia equipment in the ruins? A bit odd for what should be high-value research colony on deathworld, especially with huge ship graveyard over A-III.

I would guess that everything we found is categorized as environmental defense equipment.

On Avernus you need big guns instead of space suit to survive.

Do we know why or what killed off the DAoT cozlonists on Avernus?

All I know is there was a space battle going by the wrecked ships?

Didn't Saren find the journal or something from the personal belongings that would shed some light on what happened?

Maybe we should soon go to one of the ships and retrieve the black box. If anything is Ragnarok proof it would be the black box of a space ship.

No, not really. They had the same STCs that most of the Imperium's weapons are built off of. They used them just like the Imperium does, but they had a lot of cooler and more powerful variants available due to the better tech base. They also had to deal with the wildlife to survive, so they needed ground forces as well.

Nope, but I imagine they had Men of Iron much like the rest of the DAoT human worlds. That probably had at least something to do with it. The Age of Strife saw a lot of worlds die, so I'd guess a combination of things plus the wildlife just made things non-viable.

Added double down and Expedite

Previous refoundings did not include the defenses we currently have.

Also, don't forget to double down on the Tarot. And you should Expedite the Collegia. It's quite affordable to do so.

EDIT - I'm changing over to Collegia. I'd rather start refounding Liberlost next turn, since we could afford it due to the Forge Complex coming online at the end of this turn.

You misunderstood my question. I am not talking about equipment we are finding, but rather what we aren't finding - where is a good stuff? For DAoT, lasguns were equivalent of shotgun/hunting rifles; We found impalers which is actually military grade equipment of that era. But where are things such as photon thrusters, grav weapons, non-exploding plasmas, particle and advanced las weapons? Or, hell, why we haven't found a single volkite gun? These would be perfect against most of the local lifeforms. For that matter, where are Rhinos (RH1 N0 - Tracked Exploration and Multi-defense) and Land Raiders?

If it was a normal colony, then lack of anything more advanced than DAoT era colonial forces is perfectly reasonable; However the fact that it is a research station (and therefore should have lots of data) on a high-end deathworld (meaning it needed weapons to defend itself), and more importantly, ship graveyard means that there should be some advanced tech here - except we aren't finding any. Why?

Better question: what happened to the inhabitants?

My personal guess? They packed up and left, and what we're finding is the stuff they forgot to/didn't take with them.

Either that, or our guess about this planet being an Old Ones weapons depot is wrong and the wildlife was engineered by DAOT humans and promptly wiped them out because they only had colonial grade defenses.

Considering that there is a DAoT ship graveyard in the system it indicates that there was a battle here. So I find the possibility of them being able to just pick up their stuff and leave, highly unlikely. On the topic of what we are finding. Simple answer. Durin does not want us to find any of the really advanced stuff, so we are not finding any. And we are not going to find any. That`s why it amuses me greatly when people start talking about us being able to repair DAoT ships and make them as good as they were.

Does anyone feel like Governor Frederick Rotbart should name his sword style the Glorious Power sword Style. (bonus if you get the reference)

1. Even for the DAoT I'm sure there were limits on how much of the higher end stuff they could produce. Resource limits were still a thing.
2. A lot of the stuff will also likely have degraded over time to the point that it isn't even considered a partially useful sample for study, so might not have been mentioned. There should be better preservation in the moon ruins, so we might find some better stuff there.
3. Much of it will also likely have been deployed in battle and lost in the field, since we know there was some form of conflict, due to the ship wrecks.

And we have found a good deal of high level stuff. It's not necessarily the most exotic stuff, but it is high level stuff.

Exalted? They tend to like Glorious stuff. I do look forward to seeing how Glorious Black Crystal Bullshit works out for us.

Nope while that works I am referring to a web comic 18 bit theater Fighter in that has true insane sword skills matched only by his damage soak and lack of brains.

Yup, we'll have to fight the 'nids without any of the upgrades we were working on. That is a shame. And a lesson to not trust the hints we think the GM is giving us too much. ;)

@durin:

Can we trade with Asgard?

Can we shuffle around our existing artillery so that the forces we take to Alfhiem have more artillery (the forces on planet would then get all of the new artillery that is currently being made). Would that leave the artillery-poor regiments on planet vulnerable to the wildlife?

Do we need to take economic actions to set the Asteroid miners we've bought from Atlas and Vanahiem to start mining?
