Holy hell in a handbasket, we have an Alpha Psyker.

I kind of hope she lives long enough to meet the Emperor when he returns. I'm sure Emps would love to have someone close to his level to relate to.

Also are we sure it's the planet taking all these Psykers and also the Grey Knight? I mean, what if it was Tzneetch, looking to find a way to corrupt to uncorruptable?

What do the defense tiers stand for again?
Levels of defence, in essence they're tied to how much punishment our cities could take, how much they could dishout, and when someone is attacking provides bonuses to us attacking the enemies and debuffing the amount of casulties our people take.

At the level six we were at the Orks were incapable of killing our walls in a reasnable time frame without the deployment of Titan scale assets, level seven apparently would need full Titan Legions or Space Marine chapters to have a chance.

Have we ever reverse engineered that one super biological scanner?
Never taken an action for it, hopefully it was just done off screen.

Might be the key to start reverse engineering Grey Knights.
Nope, it will help, but the key is just time patience and getting the Vangrians to help.

It's taking already corrupted Chaos-Psykers. If it just wanted to create new Wildlife it would take fresh ones.
Maybe it is indeed taking fresh ones..?
The update does state that they are chaos psykers (though whether that just refers to all non cooperative psykers I dunno), on the other hand its Old One bs, they could probably clense it/use it to enhance the anti chaos effect of Grey Knight Gene seed.

I admit the thing that gets me is that the Psykers were dragged,
At least fourteen of the Chaos Psykers including four Gamma-levels and ten Delta-levels were dragged though warp rifts that closed behind them.
Kinda indicates this wasn't willing.

I kind of hope she lives long enough to meet the Emperor when he returns. I'm sure Emps would love to have someone close to his level to relate to.
Doubt it, Emps is Alpha +++++++++ she's just Alpha.

There's only two candidates Chaos (tzeench) or Avernus and my money is on Avernus.

My logic is this.

1. The attack happened so quickly: What ever this was overwhelmed the Grey Knight in the time it took to open a door quickly, and chaos would have probably taken a bit quicker.
2. No residue: IIRC when Ridcully looked the effect he found was similar to what happens when he tries to precog on Avernus.

It could be Ahriman of course.

Though now we have confirmation that Ridcully can break through Avernite blocking effect we might be able to persuade @Durin to let us have another shot at precogging what happened.

NIce turn, but our Navy's situation is very concerning.

Could we use some of our Super Elites for counter-intelligence and anti-psyker duty ? Maybe we can focus on the next batch to be specifically anti-psyker ?

Also, Durin had confirmed that we could make Rangers with the help of that super hunter dude. So maybe such a force could help bring down our deaths due to wildlife.

So, somebody help me our with understanding the scale of our little Burn Princesses power.

Say we set her loose on an ork world with the Phase Tigers protecting her. How much could she burn before we had to extract her?

I meant, is there a table for what each tier stands for?
Yep

It might be a bit out of date (it seems about right), but hey ho.

That would be dependant on her control (which given her tutors in Ridcully and Tamia should be quite high), but

Beta-Level Psyker (26 Power, -14 Control, -6D) – As a Beta-level Psyker, Tamia Jameson is very powerful psyker. She can draw on powers from the warp capable of matching the firepower of a Titan or hiding an army on the move.
Psychic Power: 26+4=30- Grandmaster Tamia Jameson is in the middle of the Beta Psyker spectrum in raw power, though even this is more then enough for her to be counted among the most powerful psykers of Avernus
Tamia is a mid beta and is a Titan buster, Ophilia is an Alpha (where in that spectrum I dunno, but Xavier has the same power as an Average Alpha, though IIRC its still less than her due to it not being inherant
Psychic Power: 31 + 11 = 42- Grandmaster more Psychic Power then the average Alpha-level Psyker, and wheen he fully unleashes his power he can burn entire armies in warpflame.
) so A LOT.

Her base is probably 36~, and probably has boosts that bring her up to High Alpha, at 40~.

Good contender for Power 50+ Paragon trait. Her Control, OTOH.. her Alpha trait probably grants her a -17 to Control. Even with a 24 on the roll and the Sanctioned and Primaris trait, it's.. 14 Control? Likely has more traits to help. Alphas apparently have a negative base chance to pass, after all.

Actually Average Alpha is apparently around 42ish.

She got personal training by Tamia and Ridcully, so hopefully her control is much better than it would normally be.

That is always based on the base strenght.

Ridcully is at 42 Power a powerfull Gamma while starting out as a Delta.
Xavier is at 42 Power a powerfull Alpha while starting out as a Beta.
Tamina is at 30 Power a normal Beta and started out as a Beta.

The summary is that every 10 Power a psyker changes towards a higher/lower category.

Ophellia would probaly at 32 Power be just as strong (not skilled) as Xavier.

We need to secure their assurances of not trying to attack or infiltrate us. As a large Post-Imperial National state run by Superhuman Killing machines that will be hard. They're going to want our cluster of planets to join there union for resources and manpower. An if they find out what we have they'll try and take it as well as causing our impressive secrets to be known by the entire galaxy. Which would cause the Dark Mechanicus to come take a swing at us and more people are going to make an appearance.

1. Thus we have to stay independant and just announce that we have our own borders.
2. If we can get them to respect that then we'll need to create diplomatic ties with Blood Dragons. Facts are we may need there help one day.

My question is how do we stop there people from trying to infiltrate our space and know about our shipping lanes and technology? Even if we try to hide it they'll know were making an effort to cover something up which will arouse suspicion and bitterness for hoarding.

At the end of the day we may have to have tense relations with the Blood Dragons. The kind where we are willing to not have a fight but very willing to defend our corner of space to the death. Which means holding our newly conquered worlds. But I don't think tense relations are necessarily a bad thing because we still have our ultimate diplomatic tool: The Varangian Guard

When they reach strength levels than they could be convinced to go on diplomatic missions on the Trusts behalf and fight alongside the Blood Dragons in order to gain there trust and not wipe us out. If this happens it'll be greatly beneficial because the Blood Dragons will have help and a corner they need not worry about. While the Trust can keep it's technology.

*Technology - I want to keep and hoard it all. All of it.
**I can be convinced to let go of some Imperial tech though

That seems overly paranoid to the point of being harmful. The Dragon's Nest hasn't seized control of the Karnas Federation, so why would they do that to us?

Let's not make them into enemies okay?

....

During the next High Council meeting we should arrange for some kind of counter-espionage by deploying fake technology and duds for them. Losing Imperial tech is fine if it's to save our Dark Age technology.

No. Let's not spend our energy screwing over the one other significantly strong, friendly, human power in our part of the galaxy. Let's instead focus on eliminating the real threats: Chaos forces and Orks. If that means some cooperation with the Blood Dragons then fine by me.

Distance, too well defended for it to be worth it.

I don't think they'll want to fight us nor do I want to antagonise them, but remember there are other reasons.

As for the why... tech.

I believe in this one he was referring to chaos.

A correction: Xavier started at the upper scale of a Beta. Ridcully and Aria started at mid-Delta.

As for the why... tech.

That's a reason not to invade us, if anything. Our faction's fleets have more capital ships than them (which almost certainly includes more Battleships, not to mention the Command Battleships), and attacking means dealing with our defenses on top of that. And that's their total fleet, and even if they did send their total fleet against us they would likely lose. And they wouldn't send their total fleet, because that'd leave their worlds relatively defenseless against Valinor, the remaining Ork warlords, and the Necrons that have been messing with them, as well as anyone else eager to take a chunk out of them. If they have any decent intelligence on us they would never make the call to invade us given the force disparity.

That's a reason not to invade us, if anything.
It is also a reason to invade however, the chance that they maybe able to get our tech.

Its not a smart move cause we know our advantages, they on the other hand do not.

Yeah, unfortunately at the moment we're a bit of an info black hole and they don't know what we can do.

It only takes a bit of over confidence before suddenly they decide its a good idea to attack.

Hopefully not the Astartes are probably smarter than that, but I've been dissapointed before.

The chances of us getting attacked by another uncorrupted imperial remnant, in preference to literally any other enemy is astronomically small. They are almost certain to start by trying to negotiate and then depending on how those go they might try spying, but straight up attacking us is incredibly unlikely.

If they know about our tech as a reason to invade us then they'll have other info on us. And they'll also have records from before the Imperium collapses to know that our sub-sector is highly militarized. They should also have their own scout ships going around and they'll have noticed that Valinor is going on the defensive and that Garkill's domain has been smashed and invaded. And they'd have to be really fucking stupid to want to make another enemy given they're already having difficulty holding on as it is.

We are talking about the cultural inheritors of the Imperium of Man. Intelligence is decidedly optional.

@Durin

1. What's the Inquisition during this time? Are they also clearing the Navy?
2. If they're not clearing the Navy, why? Isn't that kind of thing their job?

So since it turns out that I was right and the chaos psykers did in fact teleport onto our command ship, when are we doing the Advanced Wards action to protect the ship from future attempts?

It was actually that they teleported outside the ships and then physically drifted through the void shields. They couldn't teleport through the void shields. Even the Emperor couldn't teleport through void shields.

Which is amazing and very appropriately Avernite, when you think about it.

Deep-space insertion onto Spaceship.
