Bloody hell.

This is painful.
Not really. We now have 12/10 civilian morale, 15/10 Mechanicus morale, and 12/10 military morale. We've lost none of our bonuses.

Now keep in mind that we will have more psykers developing and fewer psykers of our own to police them with. Anyone care to bet on how many cities get obliterated by major Chaos Psykers in the next few decades?
We'll just handle them like how Midgard's been handling its psyker population.

not being a military genius I can't do what you ask me to an instead give you a massive command bonus to your rolls
I can't really fault you for that.

No more than normal.

We get alot of hunters every year and we have Jane on the Job with Xavier.

We will survive.

In some ways the casualties of the psykers is a good thing cause now we ain't dealing with rampant over population and have enough teachers for everyone.

We've had a psyker crisis before. And a cultist crisis before, as well. We'll devote.. umm...

..actions from elsewhere to deal with it?

You know, if this invasion had came 3 turns later, it wouldn't have been as bad at this. Especially for our psykers.

Hey, could we have orbital psyker habitats?

Just a thought.

Now, we'll probably be diverting Diplo actions to dealing with the cultist issue and/or rebuilding morale, while spending Mechanicus actions on repairing damage.

Can't really conceive of a way to have our fleet help right now.

Oh, guys, we're heading for the 100 turn mark since the founding of Avernus.

We're gonna get to see what trait comes after Avernite Elder (+4 C).

Maybe +5C, bonus to surviving on Avernus?

Living on Avernus with a wickedly good anticultist system should result in at least a bonus to piety, I think, if only to reflect that going chaotic is death, and Avernus is prime spot to go chaotic. And less chaos psykers in the future as a knock-off.

If anything the daemon invasion has simply sped up the natural selection of Avernites. Faster than we'd prefer, but hey..

Also, maybe Frederick might breach low demigod to middle demigod level of Combat..

The wildlife is made up of Old One bioweapons that have manifestly been toying with us. If the planet mind wants to keep up the pressure, it can.
If the wildlife was as OP as you are imagining they wouldn't have let Deamons get past the Pole.
Secondly they have not been toying with us. As best I can see, Avernus sort of sits back and lets the ecosystems sustain themselves (with minor management like preventing the Life eater fungus from spreading outside of its swamp) and it only ever intervenes when something comes along that might wreck the environment. Humans? Fine as long as they don't pollute too much, we have WoG on this. Necrons? GTFO. Orks? They're part of the ecosystem now. Deamons? Really GTFO.

We don't know.

I'd like to think that is what is happening, but hey.

According to @durin most of the people with weak wills were killed so the average will power of Avernus has proably increased.

Pretty much.

I mean I think you may be underestimating the wildlife as much as he is overestimating them, remember we still don't know where the majority of the real threats are and the ones we knew off were asleep initially.

The Dark Gods are apparently at least wary of whatever the Unborn are.

Actually I think you're wrong. I am not underestimating the wild life at all.
The majority of deaths on Avernus every year where never due to the major powers like the Penguins, they were always due to most common. Unless there has been a massive paradigm shift in the ecosystem and how Avernus views us threats like the Unborn, the Deep Ones and the Mantle Wyrms will continue to be a Sword of Damocles. They could royally fuck us over, however they have not and will continue to not for the foreseeable future.
The one possible exception is that a Deep One or two might be peckish after using so much energy to fight Deamons and will want a snack before going back to sleep.

Ignoring this most deaths on Avernus will continue to be from Blink Spiders with the other common threats continuing to be the common threats.

You posted while I was responding to Alex Pears, see this abbreviated comment for the relevant thoughts..

I can't get over the feeling the planet is just . . . playing with us, shaping us to its own ends.

Like Bonsai. I mean, C'mon, this was a full on slanneshi daemon incursion lead by multiple daemon princes and greater daemons. Literally any other world would have been plowed under and daemonformed into a hellworld, but look what happened. We lived. Sure, one in five people died, but only one in five people died. By all accounts, that's damn good.

Actually we have confirmation that there are other worlds that could have survived.
Mostly the topest of top tier Fortress and Forge worlds and worlds with a major Astartes chapter. But still others.
