Durin's is clearly a member of the Reptilian Illuminati/MJ12.
Joking aside, this is pretty common when it comes to making massive combat turns. I like Haman's and Enjou's turns equally, but all honesty we are generally just voting for 1-3 difference in both their turns. That's not a slight against them or the options that Durin is giving us. There are not too many permutations that Enjou or Elder Haman can do without coming up with retarded turns.
It is really a matter of objective preference at the voters at this point...so yeah, kind of like US democracy at this point. Both the authors agree on pretty much the most important things...but differ on several "small" issues that most of the audience either isn't too interested in or is okay with whatever.
I gave some reasons for the latter thing, but let's ask the boss man on the ODPs to make sure my original assumptions are correct. @durin - What is Parnell's reasoning regarding preferring the replacement rather than just building new ones?

If this was a US democracy, Elder Haman and Enjou would be constantly insulting each other, deliberately keeping away from anything like acting like the other one, and going to the absolutely most insane extremes to differentiate each other.
That's just every presidential election. Although the last ten years haven't been the greatest, most people in the US government agree on things that attempt to keep the US strong...the biggest one being defense spending.
Case in point, both Enjou and Haman agree on the same things with our military budgets.

@durin - Given the sticking point with Syr's education, could we just vote on it and have continue her career be an option? It seems to be a major sticking point and it's stupid to have the entire rest of the plans discarded on that one issue.

With both plans doing Long Term Planning I've taken a few days to get my head back on straight from all the fleet build arguments then looked over my plan again. The short version is that I was keeping a fast unit in it as I used Elder Haman's as the base then modified it from there. Really looking at what we're trying to do I don't think that they add enough of a anti-harassment capability to be worth it and we should have the Trust cover us from a harassing fleet or enough range ships to counter their speed. They're armor is just too weak to stand in the battle line with the others and there wasn't enough to really do much to a harassing fleet other than die slowly. The changes I'm making should add to the fleet's survivability and it's main role of brushing away stationary defenses and defense fleets while protecting our transports. With this I'm done.
@durin this should be the last time I bother you with this but can you answer a few questions on the new set up?
1: What's the EM upkeep?
2: How effective would this be at Planetary Assault? (Stationary, monitors, fleets).
3: How well would they guard the troop convoy?
4: What would be the best match up for such a fleet?
6: What would be the worst match up for such a fleet?
7:What would it take for the enemy to hammer such a fleet?

Do you consider this to be trolling? Do you think we'll just tacitly accept the reasoning behind your votes? I'm morbidly curious as to your actual reasons for just flat out stating this. I've seen you bitch about it before, but to nurse this grudge for so long.... Isn't this a violation of Rule 3? This *seems* to be pretty damn hateful in regards to its intentions. I mean, it's sabotage, not very effective sabotage but an attempt at sabotage nonetheless.

I don't believe that these techs are tech that we lose the chance to try again on.
That was mentioned only for the Starship Construction tech as I recall.
