Based on durin's advice we should probably sell off a few of our Soldier Class escorts once we get them, replacing them with the Legionnaires we just repaired. We might also further decrease our number of escorts by replacing them with some Youxia Class Escort Cruisers, which would increase our fleet's point defense by a great deal while likely having lower maintenance depending on how many escorts we replace.

We also should restrain ourselves on building up our fleet beyond what we've ordered until we've been able to expand our Forge Cities into Hives and expanded the Forges and Forge Temples.

We should probably ask Freyr during the upcoming meeting what he thinks our fleet should look like given our ground focus and go from there, because I think we're a bit in the dark about what we should be doing.

Basically, I want to focus on her strengths and make them stronger and get that +C to get her to 35.

Last Year Archmagos Tranth reverse engineered the starship construction technologies of The Well of Urd. This technology will have to replace most of the current components of a shipyard, doubling the cost, but should increase the shipyards capacity by a third and the rate that it can build new ships by 25%. While this does make shipyards more expensive the decease in construction times in more then worth it.
Question:
1. Will it increase all Thrones, Metal, Material, AM and EM cost for building them equally or is it focussed more on certain ressources?
2. Will it increase the reduce of upkeep for Void ships as well?

@durin

Could we have Jane's analysis on Avernus' vulnerability to the loss of prominent characters, and what we might do to mitigate the effect of such losses?

(Or have her do an analysis, if she doesn't already have one.)

Another argument for the Helltroopers option - it should be remembered that in the event of a ground battle taking place on two planets at once if Frederick and Syr are in different places that they are likely to be in charge in their relevant locations. That is exactly the time we need Syr available as a general.

The bulk of the Helltroopers are likely to be sent to the world other than Avernus that is under attack, which means that Lieutenant-General Hye Richards who commands them will likely go. With Frederick off world as well, that leaves the commanding general on Avernus likely being General Drago, who has a martial skill of 28 - he can't hand overall command to someone who is lower rank than him, so Syr is the only person with a higher martial than him that he could hand command to. Remember that the overall commander provides a bonus on all fronts, so Syr would provide a better bonus than Drago would.

If Syr is in space commanding our fleet, then it's unlikely she could get to the ground in order to help there. Our general void strategy for when the bulk of the fleet is away is to have Cumae look too difficult to be worth attacking due to most/all of the defence vessels being there, and then letting the enemy take losses trying to smash through Avernus's defenses and crushing whatever force they end up landing. Most opponents will do as we want in that regard. Syr would certainly not be at the location of Avernus's defenses, so her utility as a defensive Admiral would be rather limited compared to her use as a general.

Syr is already capable of commanding ground forces. There is no need to send her to the Helltroopers to gain that.

On the other hand, right now she can't command Naval battles at all.

The longer we wait to send her to the Naval Academy the more significant the malus to martial will be. We have a -15 to Martial when commanding Naval battles.

I'm hopeful that if we send her right now we will be able to get Naval command for Syr without any malus.

The only benefit of the Helltroopers over Naval Academy is the + to Combat. It is not necessary to give Syr the ability to command ground forces, and both Naval Academy and Helltroopers give + Martial.

Furthermore, Void actions are the primary area that we are weak in advisers ever since Freya died. It's a place where we could have Syr establish a purpose and work for decades, without any major disruptions to our current organization.

On the other hand we would have significant problems reorganizing our ground forces to incorporate Syr.

Personally I think we can get over any maluses she might have to naval command for taking that next by having her go on a tour of duty with the Imperial Navy. The main thing Frederick needs to get his own malus lifted it experience, but as an acting Governor he isn't able to really get any outside of an actual war, but Syr is currently not under any such restriction.

Another thing is that the Helltroopers option may have benefits other than the stat gains, from the looks of it:
Any post-education option does that, because she's out doing an actual job and not immediately under her father's eye. This would be true of any option that isn't "just" more education, and may be true of University and Naval Academy anyways because its distant enough from the Palace that he can't trivially take the time to visit or oversee her.

[X] Avernite Naval Academy

We can increase her combat by further swordsman training, also she has command experience from the officers academy and we are a ground commander. Setting her up as an admiral will get her more out of our shadow.

I don't think any of the other regular education options would prove anything. Other post-education options probably would, but not the education options themselves. Also, University wouldn't be distant from the Palace - Dis most definitely has a University.

The Helltroopers would probably be very good for building up her self-confidence. Durin has mentioned before that getting out of her father's shadow would be good for her.

Getting out of Rotbart's shadow can either mean meeting or exceeding his martial abilities (which is a rough prospect at best) or excelling in areas that he doesn't. If all she does is compare herself to her dad, then is she really getting out of his shadow? University or the Admirality seem like better choices for giving her that opportunity now that she has what she needs to lead on Avernus.
