the fact that she is already as good a tactician as many of your senior officers shows her talent.

++Thought for the Day: Nothing can hide from the wrath of the Emperor.++

Avernus is a planet with a very martially-focused people, as is to be expected from those living in a place where everything is trying to kill them. Everyone from artists to bureaucrats to corporate executives are soldiers, each and every one trained and ready to hold the line when need be. This outlook is also reflected in their children and their schools.

On top of receiving a primus-grade education, students are taught both the basic and the advanced aspects of battle, from field-stripping a lasgun to maintaining squad cohesion when under ambush. With the many dangers of Avernus ever-present to kill the unwary and unable, it's a vital necessity to teach the younger, squishier, more-easily-killable members of society how to properly wage war against the things that would see them dead.

Their skills are put to the test at the end of the first and third quarters of the year where the students within a school are made to fight each-other in large mock battles. At the end of the second and fourth quarters, they are instead made to fight the students of other schools. This allows both students and educators to learn the strengths and weaknesses of their own styles as well as allow for cross-pollination of skills when the different styles meet. It is an efficient and effective method of instilling the martial skills and traditions that make the soldiers of Avernus the best in the Nine Worlds. However, even with his high degree of martial understanding, Governor Rotbart failed to notice that it had one small but significant flaw...

"What do you mean my daughter can't be a leader in the Blood Games any more!? She's one of the best tacticians in her year!" Of all the things Frederick thought the principal of Syr's school wanted to talk about, this certainly wasn't one of them.

"She is not one of the best, she is the best, and not only of her year, my lord. Her excellence in martial matters far outstrips her peers, and that is the problem. Every single time she's participated in the events, she defeats her opponents so quickly and so unexpectedly, they never even know what's happened until it's all over. They never get a chance to properly get used to participating in such large-scale events and there's only so much they can learn from after action reports. She is an incredibly gifted student, but-"

"Can't you just give her enemies more troops to work with? Better equipment? She loves participating in the Games. She doesn't laugh any harder than when she makes plans for them in the days leading up to them. It truly is a joy to her."

"I'm sorry my lord, but we can't change the entire curriculum just to suit your daughter. She'll just have to play the part of a trooper the next time around."

"I see... Well is there anything else of note? How is she doing in her other subjects?"

"She is doing fine, my lord. Above-average in most areas, though late assignments are occasionally a problem and her understanding of the Imperial Truth does not exceed that of most other students her age."

"Thank you, I'll keep that in mind. I think that's all."

"My lord."

After the principal made his leave, Frederick sighed to himself, not knowing what to do. He really didn't want to upset his daughter, remembering the last time she got...out of control. Maybe when Freya got off work they could figure something out. Frederick sighed again. He really needed a drink, but there was paperwork to be done.

Two meetings. About what?

Talk with Lord Marshal Sigurd about the Knight STC found? But why?

First Artisan Granalf about how to best supply power-armored regiments?

Hmmm, ok, so yeah, we'll need two subjects to talk about.

I think that talking with Svartalfheim about comparing our power armor training and plans is a fantastic idea.

For a second subject, I'm not sure. Part of me thinks it might be interesting to leave our schedule open to let someone come to us for a change.

Hmmm... maybe we could propose another technical conference with Svartalfheim, Muspelheim, and the Admech? The last one was a resounding success, so I think they would all agree that continuing their knowledge exchanges would be a good idea.

I'm not entirely sure on what subjects might be good to look over. Ship building is one possibility - increasing the efficiency of shipyards, perhaps seeing if anyone has some preliminary insights into the ship building tech found on the Well of Urd before we reverse engineer it, etc. It might be better to wait for Vanaheim to be available for such a conference, though, as that's in their wheelhouse.

Anyone have any other thoughts on topics?

Only two things I can think of. One does Surt have any info on the well, after all it is a big ship and they have VERY extensive records, the other is can anyone think of any way's to get info on how good he is out of him, cause he is the only character with a 50+ stat

I don't think he'll have any history on the Well of Urd, as it's part of Avernus's history and they gave us everything they had on that.

For figuring out how good he is, that'll likely be a matter of time and continuing to improve our relationship with Muspelheim.

Ok, I don't really have another suggestion, and I'm not sure if we actually have two meetings, so I'll just vote for this one for now.

[X] Arrange a meeting between the First Artisan, Champion Surt, and the Fabricator General.
-[X] To the First Artisan, express interest in a possible military exchange of Power Armored troops or some other comparison of training methods, so as to maximize the effectiveness of the regiments they are looking to train up.
-[X] To everyone, suggest that another technical conference be held, and perhaps even make such conferences a regular occurrence. After the resounding success of the last one in improving the productivity of the Nine Worlds, further knowledge exchanges are likely to have similar benefits. You are currently interested in seeing if the efficiency of shipyards might be increased, and possibly seeing if any insight might be gained regarding the ship building technologies found on The Well of Urd before any attempt at reverse engineering them is made since there is currently a rather low chance of doing so and every attempt will make subsequent attempts harder. However, that topic may be best to put on hold until Vanaheim is available to send their own experts to attend, so suggestions of other possible topics is welcome.

Suggestions for improvement to this write-up is welcome.

Things I can think of to talk about:

1: Exchange notes with Muspelheim about the Quartoks and our relative success in persuading people. What have their arguments been, etc. Also, maybe find out why they are pushing so strongly for this.

2: Nilfhiem about colonizing Avernus V (although this is still delayed due to them being behind a Warp Storm forever)

3: Discussions with ????/Security Council/Inquisition for contingency planning in case Vanaheim has fallen to cultists or worse while they are cut off. Should we base some extra troops on Alfheim? It would provide extra security to the most vulnerable system. Could be explained by training against the Orks (since that is one of the major threats), and also keep a large force available to quickly move on Vanaheim if it become necessasry (hopefully it won't be).

I think we're fine here. We can campaign a bit more to change some minds from abstaining to supporting, if need be.

I think this is a long way away. A century at the very least. We'd need to build orbital defenses for it, and we need a big enough fleet that we can cover the whole system. We're not short on Promethium either, and we could build more Forge Cities on the moon that has Promethium or just expand the ones we've got if need be.

Also I really don't see why we need Niflheim's help for this. It's essentially building another moon city, just on a ball of ice. We have all the tech we need to do it.

For Vanaheim, so long as the Navy has remained loyal, then if they don't have it in hand we give them the Jotunheim treatment. Send in the Black Irons to fuck up the cultists, send in the Teachers to keep loyalist areas secure.

Alfheim I think will be fine without us sending troops. They have upgraded their defenses and improved and expanded their PDF, both to the point they think they can hold against most attacks. I imagine a good number of the Imperial Guard will also be stationed there. The Siege Infantry Brigades we're training up for the IG will likely be sent there as well, I would think. Lastly, they have Asgard as their nextdoor neighbors.
