the reason that their day harassment is so dangerous is that you are sending your worst troops into their territory in an attempt to take it
I do not understand why all of the plans are to attack, given that you are about to wipe out the Dark Eldar artillery holding your ground and shelling them for a while should be seriously considered
We want to take the walls so that they can not run.
Most likely pointless because the leaders at least have hidden passages or teleporters to get out.

from what you can tell there is a massive underground tunnel network, you would be surprised if there are not enough passages to get a significant portion of the Dark Eldar out though them if they tried.

... Well, before we were over crowded, but we don't really have a reason to keep pressing on, so may as well start altering our plans to drop the advance now, eh?

1234 cool

Can we scout out the tunnles to try and find a route to sneak a elite force in the inter walls at the same time we hit them from the outside?

Ok yeah, you have a very good point.

I also just noticed that we are very low on Midgardian troops, having only 455 regiments of the type we send out to get killed in every assault. Further attacks are likely to get the rest of our Midgardian mechanised troops killed. Aside from dropping morale in our army (especially with Midgardians), Aelfric might not appreciate that we got so many of his men killed. Continuing to attack with infantry will only hurt us unnecessarily. I've changed my vote to hunkering down and shelling them to death.

[X] Night- Split fire between two targets.- This will allow your artillery to target multiple areas while still having a significant impact.
[X] Night- Target the artillery- This will reduce the amount of damage that the Dark Eldar artillery can do over time but will cause less damage then some of the other targets due to the fact that the artillery is most likely well fortified against return fire. This option would be best if you are planning to take your time and turn the fight into an extended siege.
[X] Night- Targets designated by ground forces.- This will allow the artillery to provide a major advantage to your forces in the city and would be a major advantage for them. This option would be best if you are not reinforcing your currant vanguard by much or are pushing the attack tonight.

[X] Do Not Attack

Starting some fire support for the troops should give them a significant advantage. We can afford it now that we've destroyed a great deal of the opposing artillery. Not attacking because now seems to be a good point to consolidate the gains that we've made and take a breather; we're close to finishing off their artillery (unless they have a lot in reserve that they kept hidden from us - a distinct possibility) so when we decide to attack full steam ahead we won't lose so many.

you could as a write in option, however that would result in a lot of losses given that they are an absolute labyrinth, full of traps and Dark Eldar

Do we know where their aircraft hangers are and can we attack them with artillery?
Also, can we use our AAA as direct-fire ground attack guns? Even if they just shoot at the tops of tall buildings to make rubble?

No you do not, you suspect somewhere in the inner city
Yes you can, they are not as accurate against ground targets but can still function in that role

We need to make absolutely sure we're killing the Macrocannons today. We'll target something else if we finish them off, after all.

[X]Do Not Fire any Deathstrikes- Save them for use on future targets
[X] Attack cautiously- You could have your forces slowly and carefully advance, reducing the amount of enemy territory that they can take but reducing both your total casualties and the kill to loss ratio of your troops.
[X] Begin to fortify six hours before dark- This will reduce the amount of territory that you take by a massive amount but will allow your forces to erect good fortifications at their positions, clear killing fields and search for secret passages before dark making it near impossible for the Dark Eldar night forces.
[X] Attempt to gain control of the walls first before slowing moving inwards- This option will involve taking control of the outer walls of the city fist, which will allow you to either cut of or reduce the chance of forces in the city escaping or being reinforced but leave your forces spread out. This should not be selected if you are being aggressive as it will leave your forces vulnerable to counter attack.
[X] Have your Midgardians lead the attack- This will allow your more expendable troops to take the brunt of the fighting saving your elites for later use. - This option would be best if you are not in a hurry and are avoiding the inner walls.

Continue with the existing strategy.

I have to say though this is getting a bit tedious, voting for the same things day after day. It would be quicker if we just picked a strategy and went with it until something actually changed.

Perhaps we should not attack at all tomorrow. With dwindling numbers of artillery the enemy commander may decide that now is the time for a full-scale counter-attack, while that still has a relatively high chance of success to destroy our positions (as artillery is a relatively easy way to destroy ground forts, and they're in the position where they're losing ground against us each day in the artillery duel, so attacking us as soon as possible makes more sense than waiting).

Further evidence of an imminent counter-attack is that the enemy raids have suddenly dropped sharply in frequency. They may be trying to bait us to overextend, before coming down upon us just before we start setting up defensive positions (Doing this at a regular time seems like a bad idea. Makes planning counters too easy).

And if we did not attack we would conserve more troops for our own final push, which really should happen only once a great deal of the opposing macrocanons and at least some AAA have been taken out (anti-aircraft guns can shoot down the deathstrike salvoes).

several things have changed, for example you no longer have crowding issues and have lost the vast majority of your Midgaridans (with less alive now then attacked yesterday)

This is actually a very good point, I think. We've solved our overcrowding issues, and we're moving too slowly to take the entire outer city before the other side might retreat or get reinforced, and once we've dealt with the Macrocannons we can just shell the crap out of them with out them being able to shell us back. Switching to not attacking.

If we are using all our artillery on a single target, day and night, we should assign the objectives we want to attack when the enemy's artillery is destroyed.

We have now turned this into the sort of heavy siege fight that we are good at and the Dark Eldar are not (comparatively speaking), so fort up and grind them down.

Given the casualties we have taken we should bunker down and use our artillery advantage to blast them to bits. Save the deathstrikes for when we make a push

Just a question, but if are we able to target the enemy antiaircraft units with our artillery?

Because if we can clear those out, they should make direct resupply and air support of our beachhead feasible... still hazardous, but we will no longer need to clear an area outside the city for the supplies to land...

This will also help when we fire the missiles. And might mean that the drop infantry have a use. Destroy enough and we may even be able to start bombing (assuming the other battle-groups don't need air support more).

Though they still have many of the highly skilled fighter planes, which were really difficult to destroy last time we saw them.

I think that helping the infantry to not die is probably the next best thing for the artillery to do at this time, after destroying the last macrocannons. Maybe the day after tomorrow (when we expect to have destroyed all enemy macrocannons) we could start splitting fire between our other various strategic goals (fire support, destroy AAA, smash up the city, knock holes in the inner walls, etc etc).

We can, but keep in mind those are spread out throughout the city, both as mobile units and fixed emplacements. One thing we might target is orbital defense weapons - if we can take those out, the space forces can bombard the city with impunity.

[X] Write In: During the day (assuming the Eldar airforce continues to not be active) use AA to target the city in general.- Firing into the city with an aim to ruin as much of it as possible would most likely kill a decent number of slave-soldiers and some Dark Eldar as well as reducing the benefit of the Dark Eldar's knowledge of the city. This option would be best if you are planning to take the entire outer ring before attacking the inner ring.
