Taking the Mickey: A Save Disney Quest

Ugh... we need a Grand Floridian... which is a Large... Luxury Hotel... the success needed... well if we want to make it we better do it first we will need the time to build the successes...

-[] A Fight!: Katzenberg and Wells have gotten into a minor spat over some nonsense or other. Maybe you could play peacemaker?

DC: (30-10) 20.

Benefits: Prevent loss of Katzenberg/Wells relationship. Chance to improve relationship.

-[] Fundamental Differences: Disney and Bluth have gotten into a major argument about how to handle the Pixar acquisition. This is shaping up to be ugly.

DC: (60-10) 50.

Benefits: Prevent major loss of Disney/Bluth relationship.

I'm not completely sure on what the rest of the plan should be, but I'm fairly certain that if we don't take these two actions right now then we will regret it.

[X]Plan: Board Games

I think my turn follows all the rules, if someone could verify I would appreciate it, and I will adjust accordingly. Now my reason for my choices: We need to start working on the Studios Park, New Hotels, and the two future world attraction. We also need to clamp down on office discord and kickstarting the Disney animation Renaissance under Bluth and Katzenberg. We also make inroads and maybe pick up advisors earlier by expanding imagineering. I'm ignoring the Disney Channel, and also Disney Store for now in favor of dealing with crises and sniffing for sponsors with Nintendo.

I fully plan to support votes for looking at the Disney Store next quarter, and I would like to go Greener, we simply don't have the time right now given our brutal building and planning schedule right now

EDIT: I have switched my vote to Board Games in the interest of working on Lille over Wonders of Life

if we could replace A Look At Disney this turn It gives us a +5 planning bonus on all planing rolls.
If we then plan 2 new hotels next turn both will then have half a success extra.

-[] Continue Planning a New Resort (Lille, France): You've finally got a location down, now it's time to start getting to the nitty gritty details. Some people were a bit surprised about the exact placement, but given how cheap the land is here, and the fact that it's liable to become a European hub once the chunnel gets done, you think it's the best choice. {PLANNING}

DC: 15 per success, requires 50 total successes. 14/50 successes. +25 to rolls on this project. Reroll rolls below 10 for the next 2 turns.

I also want to point out that this bonus is a limited time offer.

Looks good. There's other stuff I'd like to spring for, but we're really squeezed for actions this quarter.
I agree with the reasoning for Nintendo before Store (the possibility for getting in on Nintendo products early is tantalizing), and a focus on appeasing Bluth and Katzenberg is important if we don't want this to snowball before The Little Mermaid even hits production.

Next turn, aside from starting our next hotel, we should probably continue planning the French expansion and give the store some attention. I'd also like to look at outfitting more solar and giving talks with Eastern a shot, if they haven't been bought out by next quarter.

just noticed, but this is ignoring the Lille Park. Is that intentional? I can agree with the other two changes from my tentative plan (nintendo instead of disney store (fair), hydrophobia instead of skyway (don't really care that much)), but I'm not sure we should delay the Lille Park.

If you really want to delay a major board goal action, shouldn't we delay the -[] Mind and Body: (pavillion instead)? it requires only 12 more successes compared to the 21 for Lille (which, by the way, rerolls any <10 for two turns)

Will the "Attend the Disney Store Opening" action be available next turn?
unless we actually DELAY the opening (unlikely), it will probably be changed to something like "go look at how the disney store is doing". Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Opening day is a bit of publicity and a look at how many people are present to the opening, but what we actually want is hard data over a longer period of time.

It was intentional. The reason being that Studios Park is a must to get to ground breaking, but also I'm hoping to focus on Lille in Q2 through 4 and get to 35 successes. All our other goals require us to be at groundbreaking, the Lille Goal just requires us to be further along for planning.

Yes, but we only have two more turns of rerolls. Given that context, I'd rather go with the Lille park instead.

What we may actually want is an advisor and the extra action that comes with him. And, to start on a positive foot to that advisor bonus.

Two more turns of rerolls, AND the pavillion requires 12 successes TOTAL compared to the 21 for Lille (SAME DC)

it's simply more efficient/effective to aim for 12 success over three turns instead of 21 over three turns

a bit of a shame we can't be there for the grand opening of the disney store (or do go greener, or try two office politics for extra advisors and bonuses, or...many other things, really), but we do what we have to.

Hopefully next turn we'll have a few more free actions thanks to offices no longer being on fire, and a couple of minor goals being completed.

[x] Plan Get things done

@tygerbright you might want to add an explanation of what you changed in your plan compared to other ones if you want to convince people to vote.

I see you took the second pavillion and store opening instead of sponsors and imageneering, right?

I'm not completely convinced about store being better than imageneering though.

store is time-limited, but imageneering comes with a chance of new advisors...

I'm tentatively voting for both of these plans, I might change my mind later

[x] Plan Get things done

This takes both the Store Opening, and continues the Lille park progress to take advantage of the bonuses it currently has. The rest of the plan is the same as the others, and while it's sad for Imagineer's to go, we can pick it up next turn.

I think that both Nintendo and the store would fall off in benefits/rise in difficulty the more time we take to do those actions.
Sponsors and Imageneering I feel are much less likely to change over time. The chance for new advisors is tempting and would be my choice if there was one more action. Also, Sponsors feels like it contributes less than any of the other actions and Nintendo covers some of the area with additional benefits.
