[] Spooky Scary Skeleton of a Plan
-[] Fix tacit Ronin.
-[] Install missing armor and weapons
-[] Study the Kaiju brains in our possesion to better understand how this hive-mind thing works.
-[] Breach Research Action: Study what exotic effects the Breach can generate, with a focus on what can be weaponized or used to improve our weapons.
-[] J-Research: Shoulder-mounted DEW for Tacit. Focus on power first, with reasonable range. A limited number of uses is a fair price for something that can lay down the hurt.
-[] Free Comms Action: Search for assets that might be recovered for Neo-Seattle. People are also assets, of course.
-[] Improve one of our Jaeger's stats.
-[] Research Waltz's biomechanical shell.
-[] Research Jaeger-scale flight. Use the Token.

That's what I want to do this turn. Mostly, I want weaponized Breach-Tech as soon as possible because it is our ticket to Super Robot town instead of the Mostly Real Robot Land we're stuck on. But before we can make Breach-Powered Fangblades we need to know what the Breach can do. Can you create circuits out of it, what hapens if you run varying levels of electricity through the PlU alloy or the Blue, that sort of thing. Ascalon showed us a complicated enough PlU-Blue circuitry can create a hammerspace, so we know it can be done, and we know electricity does something because it also had loads of neurons connected to it.

I altered the wording of @KnightDisciple Weapon Research to be more vague, both to allow Fyrstorm more freedom in designing the weapon and because we might get something with better endurance depending on our roll. I'll be honest and say I imagine the Endgame version of this weapon to work like Bellzelute Brigandy's shoulder lasers, homing optional but welcome. I mean, we have Breach Magic, homing lasers shouldn't be considered impossible until we try.

Funny thing, both our Jeagers can use Ascalon's Blade since both have 3 Dex. It definitely should go to Jahdhund, because she earned, but that also means upgrading her STR or Dex to make it more effective. probably the Dex, since that's the one that gives bonuses to the weapon damage.

Tacit is also two points from his current stat cap, so it's worth it to upgrade him some more, but not extremely important for now.

Researching Waltz's shell is there because we keep forgetting it exists and we've had it gathering dust for a good ling while now.

Finally, we have my newest Pet Project of making our Jaegers fly. It honestly isn't that important in th long run, but it'd be a very good thing to have.

Not really an edit:
@Space Jawa I'm okay with your plan, but it'd be better to just call for another conference with KRAUN and bring all that up then, like the last time, instead of cramming them all onto the plan.

I also think we don't need to research all that in Safe Mode. It's a useful tool when we're dealing with something we don't know at all but by now we know enough about opening and closing Breaches that we don't need to use it.

[X] Plan Strange Times, Strange Measures (Version 2.0)
-[X] Clean up the mess (-500 R)
-[X] Attempt to research Breach-centric Weaponry System - Attempt to devise a means by which to take our ability to temporarily create breaches and weaponize this ability, possibly through the use of some kind of 'telefrag' effect. (SAFE RESEARCH MODE!) (Free Breach Research)
-[X] Research Jaeger-based laser weaponry DEW System (Free Jaeger Research)
-[X] Build SH-6 Scout Chopper Squadron*2, Hellhound Squadron*1 (Free Construction Action)
-[X] Contact KRAUN to request another conference with them (Free Comm Action)
-[X] Repair Tacit Ronin, Re-Install HF-2 Fangblade and install Supercomposite Plate-I Armor on Left Arm and Sensors (If I'm not mistaken, we did research the ability to install this stuff on the Sensors) (-1650 Resources)
-[X] Repair Tacit Ronin (Second Action)
-[X] Build Jaeger Recycling Plant (-1500 R)
-[X] Upgrade Manufacturing to 9 (-4500 R)
-[X] Upgrade Population to 10 (-5000 R)
-[X] Upgrade City Scanners to 7 (-3500 R)
-[X] Research Kaiju Hive Mind - Using Palisade and the Kaiju brains we have in storage, see if there is a way we might be able to 'weaponize' the Kaiju Hive Mind in some way through the Kaiju brains in our possession against future Kaiju attacks and in other Kaiju encounters in general (SAFE RESEARCH MODE!)
-[X] Research 'Breachgate' - Research gate system capable of holding open a breach between two points for an extended period of time in order to allow for their use long-distance travel as well as improving the ability to research an open breach. (SAFE RESEARCH MODE)
-[X] Build J-Tech Lab (Research Augment) (-1000 R)

(17650 Resources Spent, 16450 Remain)

-With all that said, your plan feels pretty solid to me. Would you be willing to swap the Electromagnetic Projector J-Tech Research for something to give Tacit some at least close-to-mid-range ranged weaponry, and possibly swap the Breachgate Research action for a building a 2nd J-Tech facility (for 2 free Jaeger Research actions)? If you are, I'll toss my support behind your plan.

Part of me was actually figuring on using the improved Electromagnetic Projector as a ranged weapon for Tacit; the stun/temp strike stuff fits right into Tacit's close combat shredding game plan. Shoot EP, stun Kaiju, have Tacit stab them while they're recovering from the shock.

But if people really want lasers, I can swap out the Electromagnetic Project research for Jaeger Laser research.

And I really do think that the 'Breachgates' are important. Not just because it will further ensure our ability to research the Breach (Which I think is of utmost importance right now), but also because if it works? We might well actually have an ability to realistically expand. And maybe even connect with KRAUN more directly, which I think would be huge.

I'd be more open to switching the population upgrade for more J-Tech, honestly.

I also think we don't need to research all that in Safe Mode. It's a useful tool when we're dealing with something we don't know at all but by now we know enough about opening and closing Breaches that we don't need to use it.

They're still breaches, they're still dangerous. I'd really rather play it safe than sorry at this point.

Guys, remember that breach research should always be done as safe research mode.

@Fyrstorm , do we in Neo-Seattle/PPDC have any ideas on places we could try to go to salvage partially-wrecked Jaegers? Offhand my only thought is Oblivion Bay, which admittedly isn't horrifically far away....yet kind of is. If that's our closest prospect, is our best bet a combo of "build a ship fleet" and "bring Jaegers and Carryalls", or just "Fill the skies with Carryalls!"?
Other than Oblivion Bay, I'd say your best bets is (from an IC perspective) Anchorage. You picked up Tacit's reactor from there, and there could easily be more stuff waiting there. Last time you checked, however, the place was kinda wrecked.

Needed more Tacit fixing. (But then I noticed you changed your vote)

(If I'm not mistaken, we did research the ability to install this stuff on the Sensors)
You did.

I never even filled in the Xs in the vote, it was just a way to show what I wanted and then follow up with commentary.

Anyway, I'm kinda curious. if we research something like "Exotic effects caused by the Breach", would we get just a info-dump on what our scientists found or would we also get bonuses (or difficulty reductions) for researching stuff using those effects?

Also, fuck. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of Graham/a Graham expy being a jaeger pilot. More specifically, he would fit hilariously well as one of Trailblazer Yamato's pilots. Why?

1) TY was supposed to use a daisho set. Mr. Bushido is (unfortunately?*) a thing that exists.
2) Trailblazer Yamato. Awakening of the Trailblazer (Gundam 00 movie, for those that don't know). Sweet damn on a stick.

I don't know, maybe I'm too focused on Gundam for my own good. Maybe I'm crazy.

And I just now noticed that. Derp.

You'd get an info dump for sure, but you could get some bonuses if you rolled high enough.

*(I don't actually know, I've only seen Season 1)

I am 1000% fine with MISTAH BUSHIDO...I mean, uh, Graham Acker (or equivalent) being one of Trailblazer Yamato's pilots.

Did we ever put any research into extending the range on the taser?
I know our scientists figured out how Hellwyrm did it, so we should be able to replicate that, right?

Because I'm a horrible person.

Also, this is nonsense. Out of curiosity, can someone also roll for recovery on a different site? Just making sure Noah's not cursed or something.
I didn't see if someone else did the roll, so...

Noah Recovery: 1d10 2

He's cursed :(

We used Hellwyrm niftyness to make ourselves much more resistant to Electric damage & stuns instead.

I think the 1st iteration of @Space Jawa 's plan might have resulted in that, depending on rolls.
I'm all up for doing that next turn; we'll have 2 J-Tech freebies anyway, so like I said, more room to start specializing that research.

Well, I think we know what we want. Locking in the plan.

Roll me...
2d5+8 for Breach Weapon
1d10+8 for Frickin' Laser Beams
2d5+9 for Hivemind
2d5+8 for Breach Portals

Also, the KRAUN thing is (obviously) going to be another conference thing like the first time.

Also also, I'm going to take into account all three rolls for Noah, because it's just one piece of shrapnel, he's survived it for a month, and super robot pilots don't just die in their beds from a poorly treated injury! That, and Ashley would kill him if he died.

Maybe in a future turn we could send some Condors out there to see if they can find anything we missed the first time around.

These are the things I was considering bringing up this time around:

  1. Give them an update on our status, including ensuring they are up to date on all Kaiju's we've killed and the current status of Jagdhund, as well as telling them anything they don't know about Vulcan's Nest and the situation over there (Especially the way the alien environment has taken over).
  2. See if they might be willing to share with us the information needed to build an ANGELnet transceiver independent of Jagdhund, if for no other reason that should we hit a worst-case scenario and lose both Jagdhund and the destruction of Neo-Seattle is imminent, we can be sure to let them know about it and try to send them all information we have in order to ensure that such a loss would not be entirely in vain.
  3. Send them data related to our ARGES targeting system and Faraday Frame.
  4. See if they have any information they are willing and able to share with us on the ability to create a nuclear explosive device, for the purposes of using it as part of a theorized 'Breach Buster' anti-Breach explosive device we're planning.
  5. See if they have any information they could share on the creation of Supercell reactors capable of powering a Mk V Jaeger.
  6. See if they have any anti-Kaiju information they can share with us that would help us kill more Kaiju.
  7. Make clear how big a role Jagdhund played in defeating Ascalon, how helpful she has been, and how thankful we are that they have continued to allow her to operate out of Neo-Seattle, as well as going over the upgrades we've given her while she's been here; hint and suggest at the idea of letting us borrow another MkVI 'roboJaeger' as an additional reinforcement to further help us continue our fight on this side of the country and ensure we're able to keep up the fight and our research towards solving the Kaiju problem if they have one to spare or they have any operating in our area that might be able to use Neo-Seattle as a base of operations and how useful it would be to helping us help them win the war, but don't outright ask or request as much.
Consider this an open list for consideration if anyone wants to add any agenda items to it either to bring up for KRAUN or to add to the list of things to see if KRAUN would be willing to share with us.

I think this is probably a good balance of give and take. We don't want to try for too much at once, but it hits some critical points.

I'm going to be doing this in two parts, just so you guys know. First part will go up to KRAUN, then we'll deal with that, and part 2 will be the rest. Okay?

Unusual side thought - what if, by the time this whole crazy thing is over, we ultimately become part of KRAUN and rather than 'just' being Neo-Seattle and one of the last remnants of the PPDC, we wind up effectively being something like KRAUN Pacific Coast Command or something like that?
