"80 cm chest cannon"

Actually the 'Iron Bitch' artillery piece was stolen whole cloth from HBvtW, I liked the Jaeger being able to get shots off with indirect fire (-2 to hit with indirect fire) at immense range (30 to 120 rng) for the lurkers seeking to play long distance tag, while hiding behind the ranged shield, even if it fired only every other round. My 'incentive' for the Kaiju to close in and lets duke it out...

Normal ballistic fire (only goes out to 20) made rng what it was intended: a secondary stat.

On a side note, up until this point I'd actually thought it was Mammoth Apostle, not Apostate. *Screams in Ramiel*

Well, Apostle died... we took liberties with his corpse with the intent NEVER AGAIN!

---edit

My spin on an avenging Jaeger revenant maybe?!?

It'd make a fucking scary Seijin that's for sure.

Thanks BungieONI, if it could cycle one barrier on while the other cools down... I'm sure that is why Fyr limited it to one per Jaeger for us.

But with this being my (if only existing in my brain) Quest, if I wanna fudge a tad in favor of my protagonist at inception as QM that would be within my rights.

re: Seijin Mammoth
If Fyr wants to kick the tires and take it for a spin, I'd be honored. But from all the comments about updating the bestiary I seriously doubt he's lacking for crap to throw at us...

---edit edit
What was the perk that allowed any bonus charge movement above that need to succeed get rolled into an attack roll? (That was tacit correct? one vstW starts to meld with the others in my head; I should have bought the partition software :p)

---Edit the Last (Entirety of the below edit is meant as a jest) :V:V:V:V

(sounds of Crickets chirping)

Gamers log: "It has been over 25 hours since my fellow councillors have been seen or heard from; The Kaiju are mysteriously quiet as well... Upon further investigation there is no life at all in the Neo-Seattle forums. I'm beginning to think I may not be in my Seattle any longer...

Who knew they were serious in breach tech about the no food/ drink allowed. It wasn't -really- my fault about the Mountain Dew: Code Red spilled on that keyboard, the table had a wobbly leg."

Tacit has a Perk he can use to get extra Resources after a battle depending on the damage the attack deals and had one that let him attack with 2d10+5 instead of 2x1d10+5. I believe you're thinking of another vs the World quest.

Look m8, there's only so much chatter we can make while we wait for Fyr to update. :V

True enough. When you guys go full tilt pages whiz by in a few hours, this is my first lull experienced in real time ;) seeing as how I am used to having tons of posts awaiting my casual frantic need to witness more stabbity goodness.

I'll calm myself knowing when we get back to it everyone will have had time to deal w/t more important RL stuff.

Besides I think I've bookmarked like 6-8 VthW Quests to feed my immediate need to annihilate the kaiju. :):):)

Highwind you appear quite rules proficient, if your schedule permits would you be willing to peek behind the curtain at my thoughts on some mechanics for my "Mammoth Apostate vs the World" thought exercise? My spin is a much bleaker, Pacific Rim meets 'The Mist' (movie not series) style universe, where preventing civilian casualties is a more serious issue.

Oh man that sounds FUN! The Mist is my favorite Movie of all time! Mind if I help out?

It is mine as well; I am grateful for any and all assistance. I'm not sure how best to go about it? Don't really understand if this would be a conversation thing or really even exactly how conversation on SV truly work. There are many aspect I want to keep hidden until -earned- in game but the mechanics and such; making sure my limited understanding of the rules doesn't cause me to build on faulty premises.

If I grow comfortable enough to run it; maybe it could (one day) become more than a thought exercise...

If you click on someone's image you can see a pop up which has a "Start a Conversation" option on it. Click that and it should take you to the PM setup, which is similar to a thread setup. You can also invite further people from inside the PM.

I know most of the player-side rules well enough, but the rest of the system is a bit of a black box to me. But sure, send me a PM and I'll help in any way I can.

Important IRL stuff. Yes. I totally haven't been playing video games I got for Christmas and haven't had time to play much since school started. Nope. Not at all.

Speaking of Fyr updating, mind reminding me what the plan you've agreed on is, and where my last movement records would be?

I've just been busy recently, and Tacit Ronin is something that's easy enough for me to break from when I need less work (thank you, quest structure). Also, I've realised that I'll need to rework the upcoming kaiju even more than before, ugh.

@Fyrstorm. Here.

PPDC:
- Tacit is 11 from the kaiju.
- Jagdhund is 37 from the kaiju.
- Phenom is 15 from the kaiju.
- Attack Helis ~35 from kaiju, 100 from Outpost.
- Scouts and Airplanes 30 from kaiju, 90 from Outpost, spread out.
KRAUN:
- MICHAEL ground defense units 50 from Outpost (46 from kaiju).
- MICHAEL scouts 60 from Outpost (28 from kaiju).
Anteverse:
- Euphonium and Alto are 80 units from the Outpost, heading south-southeast.

Finally managed to work up the will to finish this or something. Not that exciting a round, tbh. Your turn.

[X] Tacit Charges, using the Rear Thrusters' bonus, and Grapples with Euphonium.
[X] Jagdhund and Phenom keep running.
[X] Air Force continue to pursue.

3d5k2+5 for Charging (that is, 3d5, keep the highest 2)
If it hits (11+), then throw me 1d10+8 for Grapples!

Edit: I know there's some other way to resist grapples other than just Dodging-- it's been done in vTW before.

As the others continue their struggle to catch up, Tacit Ronin puts on a burst of speed, covering the last kilometre between themselves and the kaiju, before springing into combat!

Please no grapples?:

Grapple initiated!

Euphonium tries to dodge, but with its momentum there's no way for it to change direction in time! Tacit leaps onto the kaiju's flank, forcing the massive creature to contort awkwardly in order to not only keep its balance, but prevent Alto from falling off as well! With its bulky, handless form, Euphonium already seems at a disadvantage-- one Tacit is more than happy to exploit!

Roll 1d10+5 for your first Grapple Round!

PPDC:
- Tacit is grappled with the kaiju.
- Jagdhund is 25 from the kaiju.
- Phenom is 5 from the kaiju.
- Attack Helis ~23 from kaiju, 90 from Outpost.
- Scouts and Airplanes 10 from kaiju, 80 from Outpost, spread out.
KRAUN:
- MICHAEL ground defense units 53 from Outpost (40 from kaiju).
- MICHAEL scouts 66 from Outpost (16 from kaiju).
Anteverse:
- Euphonium and Alto are 80 units from the Outpost, previously travelling south-southeast.
- Euphonium is grappled with Tacit Ronin.

And I've just looked at Euphonium's sheet and realised that, by complete coincidence, I was actually
right on the penalties! So yeah, this is not fun for Euphonium. If only Alto wasn't Incapacitated, she'd be able to stand a chance in a grapple.

I got the grapple roll!
BungieONI threw 1 10-faced dice. Reason: Breakie? Total: 5
5 5

Tacit Ronin wins the Grapple! 3 Advantage Points!

Unsurprisingly, against a walking artillery piece and an unconscious Cat II, Tacit does pretty well. The melted arm slows them down a little, but it's still not enough to cripple the machine's close combat abilities!

Time for horrible Grapple things! Remember, Alto is a potential target as well!

Could we grab Alto and throw it toward Phenom?

E: Awww no we can't, not enough points.
