I was exaggerating a bit there-- but considering Euphonium's not made for grappling (no fingers, inflexible body) he's just not gonna have a good time. I don't actually know the concrete penalty for these things.
Well, you might want to figure that out before-
::Sound of Jaeger crashing into kaiju in the background::
Yeah, that.
(We'll wait, we'll wait, I kid)

[X] Tacit Charges, using the Rear Thrusters' bonus, and Grapples with Euphonium.
[X] Jagdhund and Phenom keep running.

According to the Hardboiled Combat doc? a -3 penalty, which is rather high when one considers how valuable three advantage points can be. Plus, Tacit only really needs one turn before Phenom crashes in and joins the pile.

Priority for next downtime: installing a SFT on Phenom and researching Movement Range Bonus feet. I'm tired of him always being the last to fight.

It would be a plus if while designing new 'quicker' feet we cut down the bulk from the currently equipped Combat Sabatons to a sleeker elegant design not meant for curb stompin and maybe reduce our grapple penalty some... getting there is OVER half the battle :drevil:

Have we not investigated this Kaiju yet? I figured the highlighted text would make them a priority for several reasons...

DGINN forces have all been AI, units based off variant KRAUN technology. A downed DGINN jaeger (not seen, but possibly in the dragonfly wreckage or in the lair of Rime) or even the Dragonfly itself might produce a blackbox with a research worthy AI kernel we could base our future AI upon... (No copy/ paste as I don't want to produce a 'Rise of the Machines' scenario, but a foundation to base our own independent research on... more a road map of needed sub-directories, etc.). Hell, we might even gain added insight in the how/why of DGINN. Maybe even DJINN protocols for dealing w/t KRAUN (These should be illuminating).

----Edit and even though I <3 the 'Skadi' rocket taboggan, high speed arial jaeger transport is a thing worthy of further scrutiny.
We were kinda busy setting up Everett. And we have a bunch of upgrades to do next turn. And we can apparently just analyze the Behemoth wreckage for things, possibly including AI pilots. So...

The Behemoth wrecks aren't guaranteed to give you stuff-- but they're available for reference and make it more likely that you can make stuff like them. It's really just "you have this thing, you can try to use it for reference or inspiration or whatever". Not like it'd be hard at your current research level, but you aren't technically getting any Tokens from them.

Not meaning to seem critical, REALLY. I think you guys have done admirable; I just also realize that their is tons of interesting and relevant things each page brings to light. It is quite possible a slightly lower priority could be forgotten entirely... ( say like Vulcans Nest antiverse infestation, Goryo's tunnels, etc.)

I was just pointing out things left laying for too long, begin to decay (As per Vulcan's nest Shineys).

I also edited in a thought to one of my posts and thought it might be worthy of consideration, reposting it here because it was in the middle of a battle and possibly lost due to battle spam:

It regarded "2 gun Jagd" and weapon racks cached around so she could go all 'machine gun kelly' 1 in each hand without stopping to reload.

Or how about Bit (Hover clips), weapon runs dry Jagd ejects spent and goes back to aiming whilst the clip loads itself! Spent clip lands itself safely nearby w/o suffering fall damage.

more dakka, more dakka, MOST DAKKA!

I saw that, there is a dual wielding penalty, but its a really natural offshoot of Hammerspace technology. While that particular variation hasn't been present we have thought of having "hot swap" hand held weapons for Jagd or a dex focused Raubtier who'd partner with Phenom.

I was speaking more on the utilizing of remote control Bits to make more dakka:

Yeah and that's what I was in part responding too.

Though a potentially simpler way to go about it is to just make Bit Hover Guns which hang around Jagd and shoot stuff she shoots at. Hmm... this makes me think of good things for Vixen Gold and I was thinking about ways to use her Spine slot.

E: *scratches chin* Mmmmm that's for Mk IV version of Vixen, her stats are too tied up in other things so her Dex and Toughness suffer.

"Th-ha-hat's a good one," Highwind chuckled, still laughing from earlier. "Well? Mr. Smith, Evau? Got anything for us?"

You are Mr. Smith, and you could get your own department if you say the right thing! Wat say?

Oh! *palm smacks forehead*

Next down time we need to move over some Cons from Seattle to Everett. I think we already realized this, but I feel the reminder bears repeating.

I forget: what's the status of our Breachgate tech again?
I don't remember, but we do need to transfer Phenom since we can't transport Jaegers with the gates and it makes sense to me to have a form of a garrison always present so we have something on hand the moment battle starts.

Complete and ready to teleport our entire Conventional army whenever we feel like coughing up about 37000R for a Breachgate generator, reciever, and power source.

Also, on your recent promotion to council member:

"neoseattle is literally run by a pta board at this point, at least two ranks exist only for the uniform, get in line buddy"

I know that we can't move Jaegers with the gates. But I didn't recall if the tech was advanced/safe enough for moving conventional units yet.

Better start saving up for it now, I guess.

Actually, shit, we might have a reason to cheapen the city scale reactor now that we're revamping everything we got. I know I said it would be a damn shame to mount something like a Siege Cannon on a city, but on the other hand, being able to point a Siege Cannon or Schwert Gewehr at an offending Kaiju as a Defensive Aug just stirs up all sorts of warm feelings in me.

Guys, you can use your Free Comms action to transport stuff between the cities. You've got a (kinda arbitrary) limit how much, but you can do it this downtime.

We do have a terrible track record when it comes to remembering stuff, making long-term plans and following through with them. I'm wrecking my brain trying to come up with a way to fit a "Return to Goryo's Nest to clean up and explore the place" Action.

Everybody gets a character, especially the ones who contribute regularly.

Oi. I made sure everyone had a proper military rank in my Omakes and that there was at least some semblance of organization. The one exception is my own character, who has an inconsistent ramk because, IC, he was an Army General who requested a transfer to the PPDC and everybody kept calling him by his old rank and he didn't want to promote himself after the TdJ, even though he was the highest ranking PPDC officer in the city after everything went to hell.

OOC that's because I wrote the first Omake without researching what were the appropriate ranks for PPDC officers and everything else was made up retroactively.

But everybody else? Jawa's was an actual Admiral, LDj's was an Air Force General, Aledeth was an actual Army General as opposed to my character's in-name-only rank, etc. and all of them were supposed to be just passing through Seattle before Iblis wrecked everything.

ψυχή was the other exception in that the guy himself chose the rank of Commodore which as far as I know was never used by the Japanese Military he supposedly hails from. I chose to headcanon that as him being essentially an International Man of Mystery who was actually the one who brought the blueprints for all the japanese stuff our military used, like our Tanks. Nobody questions where the hell he came from because he's competent, helpful and gave us Anti-Kaiju Tanks.

The good news is that the Reactor we need to power it is the most expensive part and it can be used for other things like... big energy guns? Huge Barriers? Stuff that needs a lot of power.

We absolutely can. And really, it should be easier to make a Siege Cannon equivalent as a City Augment than as a Jaeger-scale weapon. Euphonium seems to have been built around the gun, rather than the gun being built into Euphonium. With a City Augment, we don't have to worry about miniaturization and mobility as much as we would if we wanted to make a Jaeger-portable weapon.
