I finally caught up on reading this story. I read like 20-30 chapters. On one hand I'm glad to have caught up, on the other I am sad cause now I have to wait for more.

[X] Power

Admittedly, part of me does want to see Cauldron's actions exposed to Alex and the world at large even if the backlash would be horrid. I am not sure if Alex even needs the Protectorate at this point. If he left to start his own organization, how many would follow him?

Also, the magic experimentation was very fun to read. I wonder if Alex will introduce his students to alchemy at some point?
Ehhh, Alex is a big deal but he's not "able to start his own organisation" big yet.

And frankly as awful as some of the things Cauldron have done are it's kinda impossible on anyone on Earth Bet to criticise them without being either a hypocrite or delusional.

[X] Power
Power Roll: (660 points)
Entry Roll D8=2
700 Summon x 7 (Too Expansive), 200 Explosive Summoning, 400 Sheep's Clothing Summoning

Two options this time, the list is getting really small.

Details:
-Explosive Summoning: You can choose when you summon a creature to generate an explosion centered on where the creature will appear, damaging the surroundings but not the creature. The strength of the explosion depends on the size of the creature, an insect would explode like a firecracker, a pig like a grenade, and so on.
-Sheep's Clothing Summoning: When you summon a creature, you may choose to expend a summoning attempt for another creature to use this ability as well. If you do so, the first creature will be summoned in the form of the second creature. It may revert to its real form and back either entirely or partially if desired and is otherwise capable of using its abilities that aren't specifically linked to external anatomy (such as claws or bites) in the false form. Creatures summoned by this ability only count as a single creature.

[X] 400 Sheep's Clothing Summoning

Crap, just a few more points and we would have had x7 Summoning! Ah well, maybe next time. Anyway, Sheep's Clothing Summoning is still useful. Imagine being able to use the powers of our larger Summons indoors by summoning them as small animals? Also great for psyching out our enemies with Confusion-Fu.

Somehow missed the notification for the chapter but things seem to be progressing, and glad Cauldron is not going to save Jack Slash. Hopefully we can get the 9 resolved in full in the operation.

Hopefully, though if I'm honest I'm not sure if Alex would be able to bring himself to kill Bonesaw in cold blood in a one on one.

Not quite sure what you mean by that? Even avoiding fanon, some of the things I know them to have done are so fantastically stupid and self-defeating that I am fairly certain they can absolutely be criticized by the saner groups on Bet. The "let's use Gray Boy to infiltrate the Nine" plan comes to mind. Admittedly, there are not many groups on Bet who can legitimately criticize their actions but surely at least some organizations exist that have the competence and morals to do so. Even Bet can't be that bad? This is a legitimate question by the way.

To clarify, I am not trying to argue whether or not Cauldron is needed. Just whether or not their actions can be criticized. I understand they are desperate and trying everything they can think of but some of their plans don't really seem to make sense.

I would rather save the bulk of the points for another go-around.

The issue with just about anyone on Earth Bet criticising Cauldron is that nobody else could have done a better job, it's easy for us to criticise them with our omniscient metaknowledge and awareness of what plans did and did not end up working out but with the knowledge that Cauldron and the rest of Earth Bet had anyone who genuinely criticises them would be met with the response of "Okay, how would you go about preventing the extinction of humanity throughout the multiverse with limited resources?"

Even the failed plans are largely understandable in their origin, the Gray Boy example may have ended up as a disaster but Cauldron couldn't have known that at the time, it was a good idea in theory and even with as terribly as it went it will got them an extremely useful powerful they could use against Scion.

I do agree with your statement that hindsight makes it easy to criticize them and I understand that stopping Scion with limited resources and information wasn't a problem with a clear solution. Perhaps Cauldron really was the best choice; it isn't as if there was anyone else in a position to do anything about the situation.

But I still really question the Gray Boy plan. If I understand correctly, they had him under observation, testing his powers for who knows how long, and yet seemingly never picked up on the various mental issues he had. I think it was noted that he answered any and all questions asked of him truthfully regardless of source. And despite this, Cauldron attempted to use him as an infiltrator.

For me, this all hinges on how much responsibility precognitives can claim over the outcome of future events. If everything that ended up happening in Worm was the result of Contessa setting up the dominoes then one could say all of Cauldron's actions were justified, even if not in the moment. It would somewhat fit the setting, being a deterministic solution in a world of pure physics. However, if free will does exist, then can Cauldron really claim that they helped or did the people facing Scion's wrath save the day with what they had? Personally, I suspect the former is the 'canon' answer. Path to Victory seems to be based on the world being deterministic anyway.

I will ultimately concede this point to you. I don't want to drag this conversation out when there don't seem to be clear answers and the topic lies on the edge of relevance for this thread. I still despise Cauldron and find them deeply flawed as an organization at best. But I must admit, I cannot definitively say anyone else would have been better in the same position. Which is somewhat depressing but true.

EDIT: Actually, did Cauldron examine Gray Boy after he took his vial? I found conflicting sources on that part. Maybe they really did just send him into the Nine immediately after his Trigger.

Like you say later I always suspected that Cauldron found someone that fit the necessary parameters for someone King would take in, gave him powers and sent him on his way. I doubt they would have been willing to use him as a disposable agent if they'd known how useful his power would be.

As I understand it Path to Victory isn't as deterministic as that, it's less some innate understanding of fate or destiny and more an enormously powerful, godlike computer calculating every possible variable, including human free will, and determining what the most likely path to Contessa's goal is. It's also worth keeping in mind that PtV isn't infallible, even ignoring the major blindspots like Zion and the Endbringers it also can't predict when/why someone will Trigger or what their power will be,

Arguably more to the point however, whether free will exists or not victory on Gold Morning would have been impossible without Cauldron. Without them experimenting with the vials Oliver wouldn't have the power that allowed him to distract Zion, without them forming the Protectorate Foil wouldn't have been around and without the creating the Birdcage there wouldn't have been an army of powerful parahumans for Taylor to control.
I will ultimately concede this point to you. I don't want to drag this conversation out when there don't seem to be clear answers and the topic lies on the edge of relevance for this thread. That's fair enough and they absolutely are deeply flawed.

Also sorry if this was a bit much when you've said you don't want to drag the conversation out, I can be very passionate about these sort of conversations.

I'm not choosing this for less points but because he just did a thing with Bakugami I figured it is on point.

I'm happy with this one, it's a very cool power that Alex will put to good use.
Only 3 uniques Powers left.

Come to think of it, @zagan did Alex share copies of the brushes and inks he made with the Panda clan? I'm sure they would appreciate them.
It's not mentioned but of course. In fact, the Panda's even helped create them.

Hmm, that is true. Soon we will be rolling on a much more potent powers table, that also has much higher point totals on average. And I know that many of us are very eager to get access to those very nice OP rolls. But, hear me out for a minute. Two of the rolls left, that we do not have to get to clear out the old list and get to the new, are the Choose One for 300 and 500 pts. On the new table, we will be much less likely to roll those entries. This will be the best shot we have to obtain them. There has been some anticipation of getting a Metallic Dragon, which we could later age up with further pt. choice rolls, because they will at older ages have access to spells that raise the dead, a power unknown on Earth Bet. While the Choose 300 pts doesn't have something that juicy, I'm sure we'll find something worthwhile (Rose). So, in the near future, I would like us to consider trying for these choices before they become much harder to get again.

Edit: In fact, if we are able to time it just right, so that we get the Choose 500 one first, we could then use the Choose 300 one to age it up to Wyrm. That being said, the page linked to by the Metallic Dragon description in the Menagerie document does not mention which of the Metallic Dragons is most likely to develop Clerical casting skills and therefore have access to the coveted Raise Dead/ Resurrection family of spells. Does anyone know which this would be, and which version of D&D zagan will use to determine the particulars of this?

Writing from Burnscar point of view was tough. I don't think I managed to do her justice. But it was her or Shatterbird and I already used Shatterbird last time we had a S9 interlude.
So this wasn't what I had planned for the Nine, like at all, but I must admit that it was fun to write. Enjoy.

Burnscar
:

Sleepily, I watched as Nilbog's creatures crammed themselves into an eighteen-wheeler's trailer that Jack acquired from somewhere. The abominations were creepy to look at, I wanted to burn them.

I wasn't in a good mood, It was too early to be up and about, and the sun was barely peeking on the horizon. Yesterday, Jack said that it was time to go and that we could finish the preparations on the way. I didn't like it, but nobody dared to contradict Jack. I saw Bonesaw hesitate to raise her hand before giving up. Weren't we supposed to lay low for one more week, while she made some more pet monsters? Or was that another hallucination from the drug she gave me?

I would have liked to stay here longer, after spending weeks moving all over the country to hunt down Parahumans so that Bonesaw could use them as ingredients for her pets. I appreciate the possibility of staying in my room listening to music and reading my novels.

I shrugged, it didn't matter, Jack decided that it was time to go so we were going.

At least I'll be able to see Elle. That'll be nice. I'll nominate her, so the others can't. And we'll be together again. I'll have a friend with me among the Nines.

The others have already chosen but I don't care for their choice, there are not that many options anyway. Jack is going after Compendium, of course, he's been obsessed with the new hero since he first appeared in the news and even more so since he killed Leviathan.

"Hoy, what are you doing loitering around?" Shatterbird's scratching voice interrupted my train of thought. I couldn't help but cringe at the reprimand. I turned toward the woman while lowering my gaze.

"Jack gave clear orders. Go help Victor with the baggage."

Wordlessly I nodded and hurried to join the newest member of the Nine who was loading up bags in the camper undercarriage. I didn't mind him too much, Victor was, well not nice, but not violent at least. And he didn't like Shatterbird, so that was something we had in common.

Victor grunted in acknowledgment when I joined him. with two people, putting everything in the camper didn't take too long. Turning away from the vehicle, I searched for something else to do to avoid Shatterbird's wrath.

Crawler was currently climbing into the back of the truck used to transport him. The monstrous man would be traveling this way hidden by a tarp. Among us, he was the most enthusiastic to face Compendium, eager to face the numerous monsters that the hero could summon. Personally, I thought that this time he would meet his match. He was perhaps the member of the Nine that I avoided the most.

Ideally, I would avoid all of them, but that just wasn't possible.

I spotted Shatterbird looking my way and I hurried to find something else to do. Walking toward the farmhouse, I move to the kitchen. It wasn't a pretty sight, dirty dishes were everywhere, the trashcan was overflowing, and coffee cups littered the tables. Doing chores wasn't something that any of us were inclined to do. Most of the time when we needed to lay low, we kept around one or two hostages as servants. Often with a few modifications made by Bonesaw to ensure their compliance. But the last one, the woman that previously lived here, was eaten by Crawler three days ago.

After cleaning up a corner of the table I started making sandwiches with anything left in the fridge. Maybe someone would like a mix of pickles, sardines, and crushed potato chips. And if nobody did, we'll give them to Crawler, he'll eat anything.

Once I emptied the fridge and filled a cooler with sandwiches I picked it up, thanks to Bonesaw modification it wasn't even hard, and I exited the house. Once outside I realized that the preparations were nearly finished. Bonesaw was showing off her three monstrosities, thankfully they would be traveling with the goblins in the trailer and not with us. I shuddered at the very idea.

As I was reaching the campers, I felt a massive source of heat appearing out of nowhere in the sky. I dropped the cooler and looked up. A massive sphere of energy was bearing on us, it wasn't quite fire I couldn't influence it. I heard screams coming from the others. Panic filled my brain, I turned to run, to get away, to…

Compendium:

Standing upon Bruce's head, hidden by his Rest Room power, I watched as our Combined Attack dissipated, leaving behind a perfectly smooth crater, the size of six or seven football fields, and as deep as an eight-story building. As if an ice cream spoon scooped out a chunk of the landscape.

Calling that a scene of devastation would be the wrong word, it looks too clean for that.

Eerily our Combined Attack didn't produce any loud noise, only a short-lived keening wine followed by a clap of thunder when the atmosphere appeared to realize that the empty space in the crater should now be filled with air and hurried to rectify that lack.

Amusingly above the crater, four Alpha Constructs popped into existence, generated by my Defense Nucleus. It seemed that the Nines counted as strong enough enemies to trigger it. I directed them to follow me.

I kept an eye out but I could see no other movement, it seemed that we succeeded. Slowly I allowed myself to relax and lowered my bow.

"I think it worked. They're dead." Hearing Eidolon's voice coming from Xayorreth's mouth sounded weird, but he still managed to convey his happiness.

For my part, I couldn't fully rejoice. Yes, dealing a final blow to Nine was wonderful, countless lives were saved by that action, and even more were avenged. However doing so implied killing people, horrible people, but people nonetheless. Some of those were more tragic victims than anything. And for the others, a quick death may have been too merciful. Well, it was done, there was no going back.

Again, my gaze drifts to the crater below. While I knew that the gifts I received from the Menagerie could be tremendously destructive, particularly if used in conjunction. The fight against Leviathan shows it in part. This was the first time I got the occasion to let loose against the environment. And the result was impossible to dismiss or ignore. I couldn't help but be proud of the combination of powers and partners that I used.

The Divine Bow in my hand, with Kuja merged inside, was the first component. The homing ability allowed me to target Jack specifically, and the armament Haki infused into it made the attack much harder to resist.

By my side, the second component for this Combined Attack, and the main one, was Rex. Using my newest power, Sheep's Clothing Summoning, a sort of improved fusion, I hide him inside Grace. And for even more synergy I equipped her with her Atomic path.

Then we had Eidolon, he called on the same disintegration beam that he used on Leviathan's core. His transformation into Xayorreth allowed him to boost the potency of its powers to phenomenal levels. The Trump enjoyed his transformation into a Dragon immensely, I could tell that if he could he would keep it all the time.

For his part, Legend took Chandelle's shape to benefit from her Armor Bypass skill with his most powerful laser. Contrary to his friend I got the feeling that he didn't much enjoy the transformation.

I agonized over the last component of this Combination Attack for far too long. I considered an invocation like Zodiark or Judgment. Princess's disintegration beam had some appeal but it would be redundant with Eidolon's power. The spell called Thwack from Trick, which could instantly kill multiple targets was a strong contender. But ultimately, I settled on the Blue Magic that I gained from Thorne, 1000 Needles. The fact that it dealt a set amount of damage no matter the nature of the target was too good to pass up.

Of course, I didn't stop there. In addition to all that I applied as many buffs as I could to everyone, with Multi Boost max out it was much easier to do so. Magic Boost and Speed Boost were obvious. Grant Traits was also applied liberally with anything that could boost damage. In particular, I applied Domo's Hallowed Body to Rex, reflecting a fraction of his immense strength to his magical weight. I gave Totems to all three heroes. And for good measure, we all ate Petaya Berries.

While some might say that this was overkill we were dealing with the Nine here, including Bonesaw. And Nilbog. In that situation, overkill wasn't a concept that existed.

My brief round of reminiscing was cut short when Chandelle-shaped Legend landed next to me. "We need to go down and check. I don't see any trace of them but we need to be sure." He paused. "And you can return us to normal."

From behind me, I heard some grumbling from Eidolon but he didn't protest beyond that as I canceled the transformation.

For her part, Alexandria observed the process with interest, like she did when I first transformed her teammates. Without any means of making ranged attacks, beyond throwing things, she just couldn't participate. So instead she chose to act as a guard while we prepared the attack.

It was kind of a relief to release them. While they were transformed I was forced to limit their connection to the Telepathic Network, which was stressful in the long run. Not that I didn't trust them, simply that I still had some secrets and I'm sure that they had some of their own.

The four of us jumped down. There was no one else with us for this operation. A number of PRT troopers were positioned in the nearby town of Rust, with a few Heroes, to manage the civilians in case our attack had repercussions. We were mainly afraid that the attack would generate a shockwave that could have dealt some damage to the town.

A basecamp has been created next to Fletcher Pond, a small nearby lake, with some medical personnel and a few supporting capes. We couldn't risk detection too soon.

We landed at the edge of the crater, looking toward the bottom.

Eidolon manifested a forcefield in front of his eyes and a short-lived beam of light swept across the surface of the crater. Some sort of scanning powers?

My guess was confirmed when he spoke. "I can't detect any trace of biological matters in the area, we should be good as far as pathogens go."

That was a relief, there was little chance of anything still remaining of Bonesaw's biological weapons but a confirmation was appreciated.

As the tension dropped down, Legend let out a heartfelt laugh. "Ha, ha, ha!" His laughter must have been contagious because Eidolon followed suit and I did too. Even Alexandria chuckled.

Our bout of humor didn't last long but we were all smiling by the end of it.

"The Nine are officially dead." Legend's declaration sealed the moment.

Alexandria nodded in confirmation. "Yes, and just in time. If we intervened even just an hour later, they would have been gone."

And wasn't that a shock when we got there, seeing the semi-truck being charged and the serial killers making preparations to leave. Alexandria's decisiveness probably saved numerous lives. If we had been forced to chase them down, things would have been much more complicated.

Looking once more at the crater, I asked a pointed question. "So what are we going to do with that? It cut across a sizable chunk of land, including a road. Will we fill it with earth? Or maybe water, to make a pond? I may be able to improvise something but I have no power or partner specifically geared to handling such a situation."

"Good question. We'll ask the local population what they want." Legend made for a good point.

"I can handle either choice. It'll be good for the Protectorate to show that we're taking care of the aftermath of our battles." Eidolon volunteered for that duty.

As we were discussing if a monument to the Nine defeat would be appropriate or if nothing at all was better so they'll be forgotten my danger sense flared, the strongest it ever did.

I moved with all the considerable speed I was capable of, it wasn't enough. A burning sensation made itself known across my left shoulder blade and down my arm. Whirling around I discovered in disbelief the one responsible for this. The Siberian with her right arm outreached and covered in blood, my blood. If I hadn't moved she would have cut my head off.

My first thought was, when did The Siberian learn to teleport?

My second thought was, how did she fucking survive our attack! And completely unharmed at that.

My third thought was the one that perturbed me the most. Why did she have an aura that signified that I could use Creature Acquisition on her?

Even as I jumped away my Minds were getting to work. A swarm of Ancestor Moths popped into existence in front of me, forming a wall between me and the Tiger-stripped woman. They had no hope of stopping her advance, but they'd block her sight for a few precious seconds, and their unfortunate death would fuel Adaptive Immunity.

Eva's armor then covered my form, the Laurel settled on my head, and the Rabbit Talisman attached itself to my torso.

A trio composed of Howard, Cressidus, and Doc with Flash Man's powers appeared surrounding her, already poised to strike.

The cloud cover dissipated under Koraidon's influence, the dragon flying above and ready to pounce at the first opportunity. He was joined in the sky by Rex, still disguised as Grace. And the Alpha Constructs followed suit.

Shadow emerged from behind one of the few remaining trees in the area, the ground under the Siberian feet started to darken as his Noble Phantasm activated.

I even decided to roll the dice and used Random Summoning, we were in a sufficiently isolated zone that the risk was manageable. The crater offered enough room for some beefy creatures. (d135=75 Halo, d21=14)

I was rewarded with a Promethean Soldier, a robotic being wielding a futuristic gun that could teleport. It wouldn't be the key to killing the Siberian but it could serve as a distraction. It joined the trio as a range support.

A little Bird flying above the battlefield would serve as a focus for Mundane Equalizing. It would have no effect on her inviolability or her physic-breaking attack but it may prevent her from teleporting.

And just to top things off, I called on Roller as a Designated Target to move around the battlefield. This would force the Siberian to chase him down.

My body switched to plasma, while I drew some health from Solar to start regenerating. I jumped a couple of meters away and then with Devil Bringer I snatched a nearby tree and teleported fifty meters to the left, gaining some breathing room. Only then did Binder emerge by my side and pause the world.

Binder's formal voice resonates through the frozen world. This seems to be quite the pickle Master.

"You could say that."

I watched in consternation the black and white woman, who was in the process of obliterating my swarm of butterflies while ignoring the flurry of ranged attacks thrown her way.

How was she alive? If she resisted our attack, I could have understood. Considering what I put into it I would have had some trouble understanding how but I could have understood. But she didn't, she was in the area of attack and she wasn't anymore once the attack dissipated.

Could she have used her previously unknown teleporting power to escape the radius at the last instant?

Two of my minds reported two additional puzzling facts, gleamed through our more esoteric senses. She didn't have a soul and even weirder considering what I knew she didn't have a kill count. The soul thing could maybe be explained away somehow. But the kill count? I've seen children with a kill count because they killed a lizard or something.

But the Siberian being at zero, that boggles the mind. This monster shaped like a woman should have a kill count in the hundreds, and I wouldn't have been shocked if it reached the thousand.

As my Minds, chewed those conflicting facts over, I looked over the other persons present. Despite the suddenness of the Siberian apparition, the Triumvirate was gearing up for action.

Legend was flying backward while firing pure white pencil-thin lasers from his fingers. The one that touched the Siberian didn't appear to have any effects, but the one that missed bored into the ground as if it wasn't there.

For his part, Eidolon was trying to gain some distance. I didn't see any obvious power use from him, he may not have anything appropriate at the moment and it would take time for him to spool up sufficiently.

It felt weird to say when speaking about one the most powerful Brute on Earth, but Alexandria was the less useful member of the Triumvirate in this instance. Without any means to attack at a distance, she'll have a hard time contributing. At the moment she was flying upward, her hand on her ear. She was certainly trying to send an alert.

Looking at the frozen scene I tried to come up with something to do.

My Minds brought up an outrageous theory. There exist some categories of beings that do not have a soul, that do not have a kill count, and that I can use Creature Acquisition on.

The possibility just wouldn't compute in my brain. There was no way! It would have been found out at some point! She entered the scene more than a decade ago.

Despite my disbelief, I knew that I needed to test it out. This was vital information.

I readied myself. "Binder. We're going back."

As you command.

The world regains its normal color and starts to move again.

My group of attackers struck the Siberan with all their might, to no visible effect. She retaliates against Cressidus with a sweeping kick, destroying my Blade's foot in the process. He screamed but continued his assault, striking with an art to push her back. The attack landed but she didn't move and part of Cressidus's gauntlet disintegrated on contact.

It didn't matter, she was distracted. I launched my spell, a Magic Boosted 1000 Needles. The deluge of needles passed harmlessly through Howard to reach their target and when contact was made, they're was a flash of light and the Siberian disappeared with a pop of displaced air.

Internally I swore!

"You did it!" Eidolon's voice resonates through the battlefield.

I shook my head furiously while looking in every direction, both with my own eyes and with my partners.

"No, I didn't! She's a Projection! All this fucking time she was a Projection! The Master is hiding somewhere!!!"

I regret not summoning Harvest before unleashing our Combined Attack, but it was an unacceptable risk after that revelation that Eidolon could see Stands. We couldn't have risked any member of the Nine being able to do the same or some Tinkertech sensors built by Mannequin or Bonesaw. Now that this was no longer a concern, I summoned the Swarm-shape Stand and let it loose on the countryside.

Alexandria landed next to me. "Are you sure?"

"Yes! Too many things are not adding up. It's the only possibility."I paused my search to look her in the eyes. "And my power is telling me that I can add her to my retinue."

Shock was visible across the face of the Triumvirate members.

And it raised another question. Should I try to take the Siberian as… I shuddered… as my partner?

[] No, I can't stomach the idea. Even if she's just an unfeeling Projection, she was the tool of too many deaths.
[] Yes, she's too powerful not to. I can't let this opportunity go. She can become a tool for good.

Yes, I spent a quarter of the chapter describing the components of the Combined Attacks. And then did I spend another quarter of the chapter listing every creature that Alex called to fight the Siberian? Yes. Was it necessary to go into this much detail? Was it in any way useful for the story? No to both. Do I care? No.
I spent far too much time thinking about the best powers and partners to use so I want to show my work. It's a Celestial Menagerie story if you've read this far this shouldn't surprise you.

On a more serious note, I'm really curious about how you will vote. I'm fine with either.

For the roll, 260 (Banked) + 360 (Chapter) + 0 (Excess words) = 620 points.

Author Note: Two Questions.

One: I can't find the answer on the wiki, is the fact that Alexandria lost an eye to the Siberian publicly known? If it's known, it would be normal for Alex to propose to heal her. I don't know if he would succeed, I need to check the wording of his various healing powers but it may be a nice plot point to explore.

Two: I have a weird question for you guys. I had an idea for a scene to use at some point in the quest. Not even sure where or when, but it wouldn't leave my mind. So I wrote the beginning of it just to not forget it. And when I reached the end of the scene I realized that there were at least two different paths I could take.
I don't want to give too many details but I would like your opinion.

What's more intimidating?
The sudden appearance of a lot of enemies right in front of you.
Or
The slow reveal of the fact that you're surrounded when multiple enemies come out of hiding all around you.

I think it's the second one in the long run, as the tension keeps mounting. But the sudden shock of a lot of enemies suddenly appearing right in front of you does have some appeal too. Or do you have some better ideas in a similar vein?

[X] Yes, she's too powerful not to. I can't let this opportunity go. She can become a tool for good.

always need more power on good ole shithole bet

as for question two, it would be the slow reveal methinks, especially if you play it as it being a never-ending swarm of enemies. and most of them are just watching instead of jumping in.

She is extremely useful and we can disguise her with themes. No reason not to grab her.

The slow reveal is scarier in my opinion. The sudden appearence predominantly evokes surprise and shock. It can be too sudden and overwhelming for the mind to progress to fear for it to be intimidating.

Yeah might as well put her to good use and as mentioned we have plenty of ways to disguise her whether from our Themes or use her in fusions.

Not sure on the other vote. Also each of those creatures was a parahuman? I am so glad we did not put off the 9 any longer.

Slow reveal taps into a more primal terror of being surrounded and who knows if there are more enemies yet to emerge as opposed to the first where you have a shock and then can likely get past it.
