Good luck author on your romance attempt, and don't worry too much about it. Heck even in canon it wasn't exactly the main focus but there was it moments, but it up to you in nailing down the timing of romance moments.

I can think of a couple Moody Blues in the JoJo section could show us who kidnapped him and we could follow that copy to them, same with Hermit Purple only with their divining power but we would have to get lucky on the power rolls and have the points since their both 400.

I'll be honest I don't want to use the Owl. Even if it amounts to giving the Idiot ball to Alex, something I dislike, it would be too easy. While the quest isn't about overcoming a challenge with improvise tools, it's much more a power fantasy, using the owl to find someone, anyone would trivialize what few challenges are left.
Well, I didn't want to create an OC just to be the love interest and there are not that many age-appropriate girls in BB for Alex to date.
I seriously considered Vista, but that would have been in an Epilogue or after a big Timeskip, because of the age difference and I don't want to wait that long.
Same thing with Aisha.
Briefly, I considered Parian, but that would have meant making her bi. And I'm not really comfortable with changing people's sexual orientation. (Even though plenty of people are perfectly happy changing Taylor's orientation, for some reason I don't think if I did the same to Parian they would have been as accepting. Just a hunch.)
Thematically Bitch could have worked but I can't imagine her being in a romantic relationship.
I could have gone outside of BB, but that would have required more setup. Also, I like Crystal and I think she's underused.
It mostly a double standard, also I'm glad you didn't go for Aisha and Vista their age difference even with a time skip I wouldn't be comfortable with. Yeah I don't see Rachel as romance option especially with her personality tho she have a sexual relationship with Biter

There are other character in Alex age like Prism but she's dating Rory and is a New York PRT hero. So yeah either it's Crystal or an OC, which either can work but at same time I agree Crystal is underuse

Though I wouldn't mind some custom creatures, we haven't had a Greater Companion yet. I imagine the voting for it will be fierce, though. For a long time I would have pushed for the Luggage, but since we already have it, we should probably go for something we don't have. We could make a 300 pointer we already have a companion, but then it is replaced by a purely random other 300 pt creature.
