Man I want both of those but I feel like this will expand our options more right now.
Edit: Also I feel like this would be a great generic good power for Gift Summon if no other power synergies with what we give them being able to summon more than once a day is always useful
Yeah I think the only reason it's anti unit is because it's technically only effecting the user. But after that it might as well be anti army at minimum.
@zagan
If Compendium gets a Companion and then decides to gift that Companion, does the Creature keep the Companion status in the trade?
If we get sustained immortality and use Grand Summoning to all fuse into one, what happens?

We have a tie at 12 votes each for Sustained Immortality and Summoning 3/day. Considering the importance of the vote I'm not inclined to just roll. Is anyone willing to break the tie?
it does but it doesn't get a bonus power. In addition, you can give a creature that is not a companion and make it one but that counts as the bonus power too.
It's an interaction that I never considered, good catch. Having the Ultimate Summon wink out just because the Keeper would have died might be fun narratively but it would probably be too much. I'll say that it would lose one "component".
We already have effective Immortality. Go for 3 a day! It's better. If someone kills a Partner, we can instantly resummon them. What the Empire did to trap Alex can't happen again with this power.
Both are good, also both are good reasons to keep on hitting the power tree. Though I guess this increases our material extraction, like the seeds that boost stats from dragon quest monsters
[X] Armsmsaster proposed a spar. Me against the rest of the team.
QM addition: [X] Kid Win has found his specialty and he wants to show off. Let's go see the results.
[X] Power
Power Roll: (710 points)
Entry Roll D39= 21
600 Summoning 3/day, 700 Sustained Immortality, 200 Companion
Sub-vote results: 600 Summoning 3/day
Banked: 110
Would you be interested to know that bits and pieces of this chapter (and the next one) were written more than a year ago? The last time we had this activity vote system was in place in fact. I was glad to see this vote win, I could finally use them.
Also, I've split the chapter in two, it was getting too long. So the "Spar" will only be in the second part.

Once Denis left, in a much better mood, I started the ball rolling so I could heal his Dad. Being Sunday, this didn't amount to much, mainly a message to Colin and to the PR department informing them of my plan. The administrator of St Laura Clinic would need to be contacted and my visit planned for. Despite the well-known speed of administration, hopefully, this could be solved before the end of the week.
I also summoned Yuhe to discuss with him how we should go about it. He confirmed that he knew a bone regeneration jutsu. It was a tricky piece of work but doable. The patient would just need to eat a lot of protein and calcium before and after the procedure to facilitate things. I texted Dennis about that so that his father could change his diet immediately.
In the evening, I teleport in the orb and go visit Nimue's dungeon. Outside three of the four members of the Pioneer were standing distraught and somber.
Today they faced their first setback while delving at Camp Camelot. When they reached the third floor, they, and Zap in particular, got overconfident. The Crutter got ahead of the team and failed to look up, like me, and received a Slime Achatina on his head. The shock stuns him long enough for the giant snail to stick itself to his face and start asphyxiating him.
Zap was far too out of it to oppose any resistance. The other three were quick to rush to his aid, but killing the Achatina without hurting Zap took some time. And when they managed to kill it, Zap's airway was already full of slime and congealing paste. All the healing that Star could provide turns out useless in such a situation.
Despite the fact that it was heartbreaking to witness, I chose to not intervene, it would negate all the challenges of the Dungeon if I did so all the time. And it was a lesson that Zap and the others wouldn't ever forget.
One of my Minds joined Zap in the mental realm to assure him of our support. The little alien was spitting mad, mostly at himself.
The three remaining members of the Pioneer exist in the Dungeon as soon as Zap's body dissipates, unwilling to continue without him. I wholeheartedly approve of this decision wholeheartedly, this shows wisdom in not risking themselves in a dangerous situation without their full strength and it shows compassion by refusing to progress without their comrade.
As I joined them I did my best to soothe their guilt. They did nothing wrong except perhaps getting overconfident. And then to distract them we spared together, two-on-two, me with Kuja as my weapon, to her delight, and Caradoc with Star on his back for in-combat healing and backward vision.
It wasn't a very fair spar, my side had an insurmountable advantage but we had fun. Kuja with her new blurring property proved extremely hard for Caradoc to block. And while his Spin Attack could be devastating, without an ally to provide distraction or some set up the three-second charge time proved to be a huge hindrance. Still, it only provides more motivation for him to grow. One excellent trick we discovered was when Star took control of Caradoc's body to dodge one of my strikes coming from a blindspot at the last moment.
I dismissed the three of them a little later so they could rest and return to delving tomorrow.
For my part I still had a lot of work to do, I was on a night patrol until midnight. The gangs were starting to resume their activities, so a visible patrol to deter them was perfect. I would have preferred something more discreet but I could understand the reasoning.
So that was why instead of skulking around on Shadow's back I was rolling in the middle of the street riding Koraidon's colorful bike form. I was visible from miles away and I had no hope of catching anyone doing anything. Of course, it didn't stop my Harvest's units or Shadow from intervening discreetly. If a mugger found himself tripping over nothing at the worst possible moment, well that was just a happy coincidence. It was important work but still boring.
The only upside was that it allowed me to consider what I would be doing tomorrow. Colin organized a series of team-building exercises. He reserved an army training ground near the Canadian border just for it and he called on a number of capes from other cities and states to protect the Bay in our absence. It was an insane amount of work, preparation, and favors spent. But the boss insisted on it, he said that it was necessary and that it should have been done much earlier. In a weird way, Leviathan's attack, subsequent death, and the following confusion among the villains the world over freed up enough time and personnel to allow it.
While that sounds great on paper. Colin said that I would play the opposition against the rest of the team in the majority of the planned scenarios.
And I didn't know what I was most afraid of. Winning or Losing?
Winning would prove, if there was any doubt left, that all by myself I was stronger than a full Protectorate team. I don't think the others would be sore losers and resent me for the rest of my career but being beaten repeatedly by an overwhelming force couldn't be fun.
Losing would in fact depend a lot on the specific scenarios, I was strong and versatile but there were certainly a number of cases in which I could be delayed, checkmated, or put in a no-win situation. And if I need to worry about collateral damage, that would limit my options considerably. I didn't mind losing that much, and in fact, I was highly interested in discovering what could cause it. If only so I could plan for it. But I would feel bad if I needed to fake my loss just so my colleagues could feel better.
Idly, I put my skills as a strategist to analyze the powerset of my teammates and think of counters.
Sad to say, but Robin was a nonfactor, except perhaps as a scout and distraction. That reflection reminds me of my stockpile of Seed of Strength. I may need to eat a few more myself, to raise my base strength some more but giving the rest to Robin may be the optimal move. I still haven't found a good partner for him and if one came later I could still give it to him.
Roy was in a similar position, The Musical Instruments theme would render his power useless against my partners and myself. He would be reduced to using his enhanced strength and his roar on the environment. Of course, he could always surprise me but it was unlikely.
As Movers and Brutes Ethan and Jamie could be among the most dangerous, simply because they could one-shot my weakest partners. I would need to force Jamie to stay on the move and use elemental attacks on Ethan instead of kinetic ones.
Shawn was one to watch out for, I may need to keep Malcolm unsummoned so I could give his ability to absorb lightning to the others on the fly.
Then there was Hannah. She was a special case in that she had Manhattan Transfer in addition to her power. I knew that she couldn't yet summon a full swarm of it but she was improving every day. That would give her access to a surveillance network nearly on par with my own. And the versatility offered by her everchanging weapon wasn't to be dismissed.
And of course, there was the boss, I was sure that Colin would have some surprise for me. Maybe he managed to finish the drone he was talking about last time. That prompted me to think about Surveyor, I need to make a decision about it. It would synergize well with Colin but I hope for more for my boss and mentor. I'll talk to him about it soon.
The rest of my patrol was as uneventful as I feared it would be. At best a few would-be drug dealers saw the ominous shape of Shadow at the corners of their eyes and decided that tonight wouldn't be profitable.
Once I got back to the Rig I didn't waste time going into the Orb and then into Nimue's Dungeon to continue my Dungeon Master training. I was in the middle of the second floor fighting two Critter minions when the Menagerie gave me the strongest supporting power I ever received. A weight settled on my soul and opened doors that I didn't even know existed.
It was extremely basic, the easiest supporting power to understand among those I received so far, but the one with the most far-reaching consequence.
I dispatched the two critters with two quick punches from Devil Bringer so that I could focus on this.
Wow, I didn't think this limitation would ever be broken./Well there was Substitute Summoning, but that was more a redistribution of resources./This changed everything, being able to call each of our partners three times per day is huge./We need to reconsider a lot of things./This expands our options of partners massively. All the ones that we only used for Material Extraction until now can be summoned once or twice per day while still retaining access to their materials./And of course, we can still use Substitute Summoning in combination with it./As an aside it also applies to some things like summoning our Berries or Flowers./It gave us three tries for if we want a specific Champion's attribute./While it's not something we want to encourage, and it shouldn't be necessary, it does open the door for more aggressive tactics from our partners, even sacrificial ones./Let's keep that as a last option. But on a similar note, Supercharged Boost became much more useful too.
That discussion continued in my brain as I rushed to finish the Dungeon, mentally apologizing to Nimue as I did so. This couldn't wait.
The rest of the night was spent experimenting with that new power. As expected, I couldn't summon a partner a second time if it was already present. No surprise there.
On speed, there was no delay between dismissing a partner and resummoning it. I also discovered that I could now include a partner already summoned in a list of Chain Summoning, but that it would fail and break the chain if the chosen partner was already summoned. It even works with a chain of three times the same partner. Did you manage, at great cost, to beat Massue? Great, do it again. Twice.
I also discovered some unexpected synergy with Substitute Summoning, I could sacrifice two summonings of the same partner to summon another one of the same rank.
All in all, this was a productive night. I left the Orb around seven after freshening up, to have breakfast in the cafeteria. While eating, I received a confusing text from Kid Win that amount to asking me to visit his lab as soon as possible. Seeing that we weren't leaving before nine and a half I decided to go immediately. I wondered what he was doing here. Today was a school day, so why would he be there at this hour? Did he spend the night here?
When I reached his lab I found it open, Colin was already there looking more animated than I was accustomed to. For his part, Kid Win, sporting bloodshot eyes and an immense grin, was extremely excited gesturing every which way, with an unidentifiable tinkertech object in his right hand.
As he spotted me, he whirled around and shouted. "Compendium! Come in! You won't believe it! I found my specialty!"
I smiled, that was excellent news. "Congratulations!" I glanced toward Colin who nodded and smiled.
Listening to his babbling and confused explanation I managed to piece together the fact that he had an epiphany yesterday evening and spent the night in his lab frantically trying things out. He said that he was looking at things all wrong. His specialty wasn't centered around a type of item or a theme, but instead, it was a way to build things. He called it modularity.
Colin and I spent a while with him, as he showed off the modules he already created. One that was basically a battery, one that generated lasers, one for antigravity, and one for teleportation. Depending on how he assembled each module and in which order he could achieve a number of different results, from a floating laser rifle to an antigravity backpack to a laser that could recharge other items a distance.
And each new module he created would expand his options almost exponentially. It was truly impressive. As we left Colin ruefully confined in me that Kid Win may one day surpass him.
That led me to think of a robot that was modular too, something to keep in mind. For now, I need to focus on the upcoming training exercise.
Wordcount: 2203
Excess words: 400

So yes, I included Kid Win's revelation in this chapter. It wasn't the focus but it was high time for it to happen.
The next chapter is the "Spar". I'm really looking forward to it, I have a lot of ideas and I hope I managed to do them justice.
For the roll, 110 (Banked) + 240 (Chapter) + 0 (Excess words) = 350 points.
Most entries are 300 or less as is and Debt is active in any case.
I wonder if Alex will report 3/Day or keep it as a surprise for the next Endbringer? Presumably the former, the resource gains are simply too useful to ignore.
