Strength is raw physical conditioning. Lifting stuff, swimming, running a long time, punching hard. It's added to many melee attack damage as well.

Agility is swiftness, reaction speed, and immediate awareness. It's used for dodging things, jumping, ducking, outrunning folks, and other twitchy reactions.

Melee is the general skill of up close combat with knives, swords, fists (power or otherwise), chainsaws, whatever else.

Intelligence is raw intellectual power, knowledge, and drive to learn and study stuff. It is also used for military logistics.

Tactics is your knowledge of battle tactics, from the strategy of leading armies to simply knowing when it is safe to rush across a hallway in a gunfight.

Nerve is the stat both for shooting firearms and for keeping your cool. Nerve checks are common in combat to prevent from panicking or fight through pain.

Charm is the social stat used for flattery, smoothtalking, lying, seduction, verbal sparring, deflection, and navigating high culture.

Presence is the social stat used for reasoning, explaining, teaching, intimidating, impressing, or public address.

Contacts is rolled to know people you need to know, and to have a good reputation with them.

Belief is your actual faith in... whatever you have faith in. The Emperor, hopefully. It is used to resist temptation and corruption.

Scripture is your knowledge of the intellectual side of your religious faith. If you can quote from the holy books and theologians. It's intelligence for matters of faith.

Fire is your ability to project your faith out and convince others of it. Want to convert somebody or whip a crowd into a fanatical fury? This stat.

[X] Dock at the shipyards, explain yourself to the local authorities and ask them to keep quiet, then travel down. Relationships between terrestrial and orbital power structures are always strained.

The politcian's option.

Praxis is lucky she didn't run into any Hereteks that could have made her arm strangle her in her sleep or anything until now. Gotta ramp up the paranoia, girl!

As for the vote, hmm...

[X] One of the distant hives, and then take the train lines. Keeps your ship safe from whatever might be going down.

Safaris are cool but I dunno if I want to take Dahlia on one, no matter how appropriately we're dressed for it.

If this were Whispers I would totally want to go out and get those sweet Encounter rolls but this is Suffer Not and I think we're more likely to run into a tragedy than a beautiful vista out there v:

Edit: also idfk what we'd say to the shipyard authorities. "My Eldar fling told me to come here for reasons" is probably not going to get in anyone's good books

"Accidentally" giving the shipyard authorities a glimpse of our Inquisitor's seal should make a lot of people stop asking questions.

But that's not going to stop the rumours from spreading, so what we should do is lean into the fact we're dressed as a witch-hunter and make something up about an investigation into rumours about a witch cover (we even have a Sister with us and a hat!), so when the rumours spread, anyone looking into why there's an Inquisitor coming will just learn that we're not here for them.

Of course, they might think that's actually a cover, so what we should do is fake witch activity, to make it obvious why we're here - which creates further problems, but we can solve those by importing a kind of gorilla that thrives on the meat of Chinese needle-snakes!

Indeed and also I maybe forgot that we could just, y'know, lie.

I am not very bright sometimes :V

I still think it's probably better to have our shuttle at risk than our ship if something goes down?

Trains! Also, this should give us the opportunity to sense the mood and spot any large scale issues we missed.

As Inquistor, I think we might be able to pull it off with sufficient deadpan delivery.

After all, are you really going to tell the Inquisitor that they can't have a fling with the Xeno. What if they made a joke? What if they didn't?

I see no possible way this could go wrong.

I thought we were trying to avoid chaos corruption? What is this Tzeentchian level complexity doing here?

[X] Out of the hive a ways, and fly in in the car. Not exactly the safety choice, there were Things out in the waste, but totally anonymous.

Well, my visit to the dentist was not as sexy as I feared it would be.

And it did made me think:
Imperium doesn't have much room for anesthetics, does it? After all, it's only purpose is to numb pain. And to spend valuable resources on a mere pleasantry of avoiding pain? Such a thing could only be accessible to nobles, and only through an excuse of it "unbalancing their precious nervous systems, necessary for their duty to the Emperor" or something like that.
Well, there are also some pain-deadening drugs for combatants and maybe for operations where the subject really shouldn't trash around in agony. Also Mechanicus swims in the stuff.

Same probably applies to a number of medical conditions. Migraines, toothaches, chronic pains of all kinds- unless it makes you unable to do your duty, what value is there in making it go away?
One exception I can think of is sleeping pills- a minute spent lying down and not sleeping is a minute truly wasted... unless there is some super-caffeine invented, then say goodbye to the very concept of goodnight.
That people who put away treating those conditions eventually suffer from truly debilitating sensations? Price of duty at best, outright weakness and cowardice at worst.
It doesn't help that even Mechanicus is filled with idiots, especially regarding biological fields.

I kind of doubt that painkiller theory. For one thing, not every aspect of the Imperium is controlled 100% by the state. It's not a plan economy. If there's a demand for medicine to help with pain you can probably buy it, unless it was outlawed. And somehow that seems too grimderp even for the Imperium. You might get some pretty shitty painkillers in Imperial Institutions, ie Imperial Guard units being told to just toughen it out and get back in the fight.
