If we take -[] New Horizons Colony Charters - Colonize a random world at 0.2 progress per Turn as long as this ISC is sponsored. we get a new world every 5 turns pretty fast for a passive action and the larger we are the more ships get build per action and the lower the hits for integration are.
Still, no matter how big we get there's always going to be particularly bad worlds that are going to make things difficult since unlike the Imperium, we actually have standards. Like I imagine Forge Worlds and Hive Worlds will always be something that hurts to take. And if we happen to absorb a lot of worlds at once that could lead to our Infrastructure taking a blow.

This. The 2 action penalty for developing infrastructure is so painful that I think the only reasonable way to do it is find more discounts - like more ISCs

Honestly, I think even with ISCs raising infra will be a pain. It's just gonna be a matter of prioritization of what we want raised while leaving other parts to the wayside for a while.

Mainly picking this for the Postman Memes, but it is a solid pick IMO. Civ Ind 10 will either let us get 3 more companies and 1 more active slot, or something equally good, either of which would hopefully allow us to reduce the cost of upgrading another category.

I'm still not sure about going for this over Integration Specialists. While the other two would help us expand at a faster rate, Integration Specialists would help us expand in both occupied and abandoned systems while taking less hits to our infrastructure. Like, we can expand to Hostile Worlds without taking any penalties with this which sounds well worth it and definitely something we'll want active when we take the fight to Chaos in 621 and liberate tons of malnourished slaves.

This sounds nice but i think we used the action once so far in the entire time this quest has run, and we need to active this the turn before with the coming war vs chaos i do not see us finding the place for colonise actions soon.

Damn I was busy these past few days. a Shame Triple Helix Genetics Unlimited didn't win, the Designer Babies and Thules would have been great, and we didn't get the 25 actions but oh well. I really hope we do put actions into to Tech before the QM has to throw us a window or thing to do it. I mean really just one action every other turn or so. Our Karnivores are still using all melee with no way to change the loadout, the bombers haven't been updated yet, and the directional ion shields are still there.

I will say the lore/fluff of how the companies started and the QM adding a bit more to it is fun and the effects are good. hmmm just depends on what Development we want the discount in. And I will say the trait for .3 progress if we spend 2 actions is never going to happen, there will always be something to put that off or someone crunching the numbers shows its more efficient to spend the two actions on research on something else.

We've also got the passive effects of increasing our regional cohesion going for us too, and the augmetics boosting QoL and recovery alongside making us stronger in battle.

All in all, I'm happy with what we got out of this!

I'll disagree with you there. I'll even go out and say that we've researched twice in a turn more often than we've actually colonized another planet (of which we've only done twice in this quest). And while there has been some curveballs thrown our way, there are still periods where we can plan for stuff as we've done several times throughout this quest. It's especially simple for us to do since swapping an ISC is a free action and takes effect next turn, and we have done such a thing where we made plans for next turn and kept to it.

Unlike planetary colonization, which we have done precisely ONCE in the entirety of this quest, and that was back when we still had only one half of a Subsector, and I don't think making it so we could get 3 instead of 2 per action will help. Meanwhile, the majority of territory we got had been from absorbing other settled worlds either through conquest or diplomacy. It's also been how we've lost a fuckton of infrastructure levels b/c almost everyone else have shitty standards compared to us. And I don't see that changing anytime soon, especially since our neighbors are the Space Baltics: Imperial Ganger edition and fucking Chaos who intentionally make all their worlds as fucked up as possible.

To believe that we could absorb these worlds, especially if we get several in a single turn, is hubris IMO. Especially when you take a minute to look at the map of the systems and see that most of the systems in 621 have multiple planets, each of which we'll need to take. So excuse me if I'm not confident in our ability to take several planets from Chaos without some infrastructure dipping into the Red unless you guys are cool with our Medical Infra collapsing for the 3rd time.

Which is why more than anything else I'm pushing for Integration Specialists, b/c they'll save us grief in the long run. Especially if it saves us on our Void and Civilian Infrastructure (the former is really important since if you don't have a good navy you're fucked and the latter b/c we're looking to raise that pretty quickly and taking a dip in that will not do us favors where we have the opportunity to get it to X in 4 actions if we do it right).

Which means, honestly, that further Infrastructure growth is going to have to wait for a while. But that does give us the opportunity to catch up in some other fields, so it's not all bad. Definitely in favor of doing that big Design Turn when we open up though while we prep to open up the 621 Front.

We don't, but it will still be a slow thing and it won't stop us from dipping into the Red, and I have a pretty big feeling we will due to 621 being such a fucking hellhole. And while we can recover to lvl 5, if we made any progress in one area we'll be set back and all the actions we put into it would be caput! Our Void Infra is especially vulnerable since it's at IX now and likely won't get to recover up to that point again so that's gonna be bad. Plus Integration Specialists would allow us to colonize Hostile Worlds for no penalty at all, so that would also be another plus and open more worlds for us. Then there's the fact that Hive and Forge worlds will ALWAYS give us infrastructure penalties since even now at our current height Voxx Primus would give us -15 to all Infrastructure and even if we get to taking the whole Sector I still see those type of worlds giving us infra losses without taking steps to address that.
 



If you were to look at the Map, you would see that Chaos currently holds 15 worlds and is contesting 1, and we have no idea what kind of state the independent worlds are in, but I'm wagering that the two in Kalikrax aren't doing good since they were mentioned a few updates ago getting tons of their people abducted by Chaos.

These are a lot of worlds that we're gonna have to take, and while a lot of you are content to just shrug off infrastructure levels as irrelevant since they can slowly restore themselves to level 5, I'm not since that whole damnable subsector of horrors is bound to plunge at least one of our Infrastructures into the Red and I very much don't want that. And I doubt most of you want that either since y'all like to try and make our people's lives as best as possible yet you're choosing something that will enhance an action that we never lose than the option that would greatly minimize the harm our people will be feeling back home and our ability to help the people we're trying to liberate.
