Maybe go for Brotar and Ikatun?

We can hit either the Ikatun-Quintura salient, or the Barbarun-Gathin one. The issue is that Barbarun-Gathin will mean we share a border with the Chaos force, and we can't count on Neon not to take advantage. We should hit one of them though, because it denies them at least one additional flotilla, but I don't think we have the strength to hit both. The Gathin one is likely going to be nasty though since it's already dug in as it shares a border wi...

Ah

That's the ticket.

We can actually force them into a strategic pin, I think. By threatening Gathin while seizing Barbarun, Gathin's flotilla is functionally pinned in place. They need to maintain their force because they're bordered by two separate enemies who are each isolated from the other in turn (And thus, can't be turned against each other), and going after one of them guarantees the other one can just roll in and take it, and have a free avenue to their heartlands. That's unacceptable to them.

Rush down, hit Quintura Diablo before they can mobilize to deny them of their mobile forces, then pivot up and invade Barbarun and Ikatun, and I think we'll effectively neutralize both major threats to us.

Okay, Tanya and her cousin survived. Not sure what we'll do with the prisoners besides executing them. Might want to do an [Other] action for that sometime in the future.

As for Neon.......THEY'RE SO HUGE WTF?! And wouldn't you know it, there's a Chaos force on the other side of the system.

As for general plan, I'm still all for going on the offensive, pushing back into their territory and see how they like getting hit back. Brotar isn't a the Hive World is it? Cause no way we're touching it if that's the case (besides attacking and whittling away the Neon forces present).

Neon has a lot of ships but most of them are facing off against the Chaos beachhead into the Amrataur subsector.

Its going to take a bit of finesse to weaken Neon but not enough to allow Chaos forces to advance until we have built up a fleet to plug the entryway into the sector.

Ideally, we'll build up another fleet to push into Valhidem to kick out Chaos forces and prevent them from advancing into the sub-sector while our other fleet makes its way to take Neon systems.

I've worked out my plan, the question is whether we want to raid Quintura or seize it. But I think we can force Neon into a headlock in a single campaign and force them to either come to the table or into a detente.

More importantly, if we can knock the Quintura fleet on it's ass, they'll have to commit a reserve to Brigach, and that removes any slack they might have left in their defenses if they don't want to get rolled over by Chaos (Which is actually meaning they're going to Hell). That'll buy us a good deal of time before they can effectively move against us again. If we're less lucky, they might just conceded Quintura without a fight, but that's presumably a reasonably high value system if it has a mobile force garrison despite no hostile borders, and we can probably profit quite a bit by holding it.

Those 1 and 2 AP research options are looking increasingly tasty.

We could spend one AP on attacking Neon, one on MilInd V, and one on either more research or helping the Lamenters with their fleet?
@HeroCooky would increasing the DP for new ships before the Lamenter ship option finishes improve the quality of the two frigates they're building?

[] Mind Over Matter
Study the Imperial Ships for any scrap of ship-building information to improve your Designs.
(Gain: Unlock (Imperial Ship Study) in Research.)

is better because using Imperial Ships that ran on the suffering and blood of its crew are probably rancid, the tech itself should be fine, but let the abused machine spirits rest.

As for the plan I think that we should get level 5 bonus for military, research imperial designs and make a fleet for lamenters as thank you, because Imperials are know for being suicidal and with knowledge of imperial tech will be able to abuse it.

I'm leaning towards raiding. If we take Quintura then we'll pose an intolerable threat to their backline. Taking Quintura will mean that we'll just have to take Brigach and Kriegar to isolate basically half of Neon's systems. And if we've taken Quitura then that garrison there would have been either destroyed or severely weakened, forcing Neon to either weaken their defenses at Gathin or use their strongest fleet in Qulach Forge to throw us back. Which may create an unacceptable (to us) weakening of their frontline against that big Chaos beachhead.

Plus if we take Quintura it'll stretch our fleet thin since instead of being able to base our fleet in Brotar and react to any attack we'd have to travel at least 2 systems one way to respond to attacks that local SDF cannot handle.

We don't have the military strength to really do a big push yet. We'll want to build up another fleet that can backstop defenses against the Chaos threat before we make serious advances against Neon (i.e. conquering Quitura Diablo)

Looks like Tanya survived after all, who was that who just apparently ganked her minder though?

Question real quick, is the Imperial Shipbuilding just an auto-build @HeroCooky , or is it 1 DP but stacks with the 2 DP shipbuilding boost?

EDIT: Oh fuck, Neon is massive, sixteen systems large. And there's a confirmed Chaos beachhead too. Gonna need the Good Shit here.

Any juicy targets within strike range of our fleet @HeroCooky
'Aight, in order:
What minder? Lord-Militant Gunther was the one in charge of her. Also the one that sent her the ships. And the reason she got sent to Brotar.
Mind Over Matter/Imperial Ship Study is a permanent DP improvement. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle gives you a flat boost to ship numbers being built once you spend an Action to build Scouts/Destroyers/Frigates/LC.
With the Andromeda's...the map.
(Quintura Diablo and Brigach are reasonably developed Civilized Worlds/Archive World in their respective systems.)

Worlds (you can reasonably reach):
Brotar - Defense Station
Barbarun - Agri+Frontier World
Ikatun - Mining World
Gathin - Armoury World
Kriegar - Penal/Mining World
Semumrum - Aboreal+Lumber World
Quintura Diablo - Civ+Civ Worlds
Brigach - Archive World
Malras Zeta - Battery World
Saget - Cemetery World
Qualach's Forge - Industrial World
So it appears that Tanya was in a chaos sub sector that was probably already beginning to have chaos for their leadership
No? Neon is solidly an Imperial Enclave.

It would.
It doesn't work like that though?
It does? 1.5 + 0.5 [Lamenters] + 1 [Federation] = 3 - Action Done.

I stand corrected.

Thanks for the info then. I think I've gotten the gist of it now. Oh yeah, one more thing, the extra DP, is it just automatic with the loot?

For our next turn, would be in strong support of any plan with a colonised planet, and Military Industry V. Seems the two most direct ways of expanding our capacity in advance of a proper campaign, now that we've had this brief reprieve.

This is a good idea but risky. I'm kind of wondering if it would be safer to alpha-strike Quintara Diablo to get rid of the last major 'free' Neon mobile force, then just sit in and fortify Brotar and not open ourselves up to two fronts.

The pin on Gathin is still present even if we don't advance into Barbarum. In fact it's better, since that force would need to advance two systems to attack us, leaving Gatin uncovered for longer.

I do think we at least need to take Brotar this turn for defense in depth, and because Neon won't be able to react to us much this turn. They have no intel.

@HeroCooky how do the actions split up? Would it be one action to invade the Brotar system, one action to invade the planet (is there a planet in Brotar, or just a station?), then a third action to go smash the fleet in Quintara Diablo? Or can some or all of those be combined?

As in artillery battery, or are the Imperials shipping out entire spaceships full of AA cells?

Energy, it's a Stellaris term for a planet that's all about stocking up and producing energy supplies. So a Prometheum spot, or a plasma refining thing, or whatever the fuck the Imperium uses.

Anyway, I've gotten my answers. I think we're good to go, and I've got my . Quintura's not their Capital System, right @HeroCooky ?

And I guess we're too late to update our infantry gear at this point too, even if we were to do the research right now?

I really want to study the ships, but fuck, With how big neon is, we should probably push the hulls into service and then study the hulks left from later battles, because as is, It looks like we need the metal more then the research option on our action starved budget.

I still think we can seize a few systems now while they're distracted. Remember, we have considerably more speed than we used to have, so I'm not that scared of them attempting to re-seize Brotar if we take it and down to the Civ Planet.

I'm more inclined towards simply building up our infrastructure and refurbishing our ships with newly claimed technologies, and let Neon duke it out with chaos as they grind each other to sand. I'm also wondering if we could throw down some super diplomacy and cause some worlds to fold.

If the number of Lamenters were to grow, would we get another action from their aid or nah? Do they have a homeworld / recruitment world yet, or do they only recruit from our various worlds? Do they have any Libarians yet? I'd image any future Lamenter Librarians will be like Jedis, and do that mind battle thing where they can aid fleets except with lots of singing.

Basically everything but their core systems is our oyster right now, apparently. But we need to make sure we don't get eyes bigger than our stomachs.

I'm writing up an OOB as we speak. Neon isn't going to give up on us, and Chaos isn't going to pressure them very hard if it means them getting to focus on us more. We need to make Neon pivoting to us any time in the near future Unthinkable, and that means knocking them on their ass in a way they can't just brush off.

Preferably I'd like to take Brotar, Barbarun, and Ikatun. Or just Brotar and Ikatun, whichever one is more feasible.

Stationing our fleet in Brotar will mean we can respond to any attack on Barbarun and Ikatun due to having astropath and Navigator equivalents.
