Honestly, if it counts AP generated by Songs and Traits to be AP, this is an incredibly powerful thing. The only thing stronger would be "I said "Rounds Up" and I meant it", which would mean that we basically double our AP when it comes to chewing through single action projects, and get a hefty reimbursement on megaprojects like the Planetmaw (Which would give us 3 AP on completion).

I do think we should think about Automation! Also maybe this?

[] Economic Harmonization - (Shipwright's Grove)

And yes, build some SBGs... also, we still haven't done an Andromeda 2??

I need to figure out exactly how the Symphony works, but if it lets us convert AP from, say, a research fest into more AP, we could get a lot of research done in one fell swoop to catch up on our backlog. With three actions, two of which generate a free AP, we'd get roughly 5.5 Research AP out of it if the Symphony pool works that way. That's enough to speedrun even the Knight update if we want.

Inteeeeeresting. How many psykers are in a choir again?
5 Psykers per Choir. Just as a reminder; these only include STABLE AND SANE Psykers from the Rank Iota (8) and up. All those below, or not stable and sane are turned into aides and helpers. Fun Fact: You have around 400 Delta Rank Psykers in your nation.
(The scale goes to 40+, but anything after 19+ is either not feasible for sane humans, or theoretical. Bnuy was a Gamma (14) Rank Psyker, FYI.)
Does that include free AP?
It says "Total Action," does it not?

JESUS. So basically every 2 turns we get a extra action.
You Have 3 [Three] Actions.
...
A Cry For The Future - Gain 0.25 Actions for every Total Action spent. Actions gained this way are rounded up.

We have 3 actions a turn, and actions gained this way are rounded up. That should give us 0.75 actions rounded up to 1 whole action a turn, shouldn't it? Even ignoring actions gained from other methods like songs?

Understood. So Lamenter choirs should be equal to five normal choirs on average. Probably because simply becoming a space marine enhances the soul and psychic might of a psyker.

Now that you've brought up the unstable/weak psykers who don't make it into the choirs, I wonder how much effect having better gear would have on them (as well as if sanctifying a whole subsector provides bonuses to psyker stability, though that might be a bit to granular as the quest grows in scale)

It says "Total Action," does it not?

(insert manical cackling here.)

Basically immortal until killed.
Which with Lamenters has a tendency to be "next tuesday", doesn't it?

Holy fuck.

No.
"Actions gained this way are rounded up".
We have 3 actions? -> 0.75 Actions gained -> rounded up to 1 Action gained.
We have 5 actions? (emergency turns)-> 1.25 Actions gained -> rounded up to 2 Actions.
4 turns = 5 turns for us.

Any way I think that we should grab economic integration with grove to maybe start integrating them
No.
Not 4 turns-> 5turns.
3 turns -> 4 turns.
The turns gained are rounded up.
Each turn we get at least 1 bonus AP from that.

Oh my god.

So I think economic integration and research now.
As for which research:
-[] Safely Harmonized Cogitation Equilibrium
(Develop the means to allow multiple brains to communicate and act as a semi-coherent singular entity. Safeguards Included, thanks to New Dawn.)
-[] Noosphere Harmonized Interface and Directed Anti-Gravity Military Utilization
(Develop cheaper Noosphere-Access Augmetics and Grav-Chute Infantry.)
-[] Small Automata Experiments and Plasma Integrity Studies
(Gain: Automata and Automatization Research are fully unlocked. Also, improve your plasma-based weaponry.)
-[] Novel Infantry-Grade Weapons and Armor Development II (0.5)
(Gain: Infantry Weapons and Armor Upgrades.)
-[] Experimental Infantry-Grade Weapons and Armor Development (0.5)
(Gain: New Infantry Weapons and Armors.)
these look intresting

Also, @Alectai , shouldn't we find some time in the next few turns to take these?

-[] The Shatterprow (1/2)
The counter-part to the Starlance, the Shatterprow does not attempt to project its psychic might ahead of itself but instead focuses on enhancing and hardening the prow of the ship it is attached to, increasing a fearsome ramming attack even further without the need to fire continuously.
(Gain: 5 DP Weapon: Shatterprow. Requires a Choir to operate.)
-[] The Starlance (1/2)
Though named after the weapon that annihilated twenty-two Light Cruisers in its first showing against the Federation, the weapon is projected to be far weaker than its namesake, and, far more importantly, will not need a billion sapient souls to fire, nor the weird black stones used as amplyfiers. Situated in the prow of a ship and operated by a Choir, the Starlance projects a beam of psychic might against the enemy in a continuous stream at short ranges, with its destructive potential enhanced if a ship accelerates against its targeted foe.
(Gain: 7 DP Weapon: Starlance. Requires a Choir to operate.)

And try to make an Andromeda that's not a pure liability?

We've still got half an action out of this, but Look at all this fucking research guys.

Our QoL is about to go fucking insane.

Here's a simple plan that sets the stage for designing some cool new ships to make our fleet even better. But also gets some more SBGs just in case. Plus, economic harmonization.

Huh. Cool. No bonus action for milestone, though I suppose the symphony kind of gives us permanent bonus actions, doesn't it?

Is this a bad time to make a case for the planetmaw? We do currently have 65 free Choirs. If we pulled 5 off of our scouts then we could do both Unto Works Generational & The Devouring Mechadendendrite at the same time, dropping it down to six actions. Then once that's done and between The Devouring Mechadendrite & the new Symphony we could start slamming out X-bonuses every few turns.

@HeroCooky Hope you're feeling better, I appreciate the update a lot, definitely take your rest if you need it. I know I really enjoyed checking the quest when I was sick, but I wasn't writing it! One of these days when I finish my current project...

But, question for you! Now that we finally have the melodies - is Progress/Community/Family/Unity the auto-development song we're looking for?

And try to make an Andromeda that's not a pure liability?
Both of those upgrades require the ship to be in close range of the enemy, which is not where I want our choirs to be.

I think the best plan for the Andromeda is to take the Crusader Fleet Carrier Focus doctrine and stick a carronade and a micro-warp jump engine on it. So it can run from any fight and shoot anybody from out of their range. Preliminary plan here.

We should push out at least 2 SBGs this turn. We really shouldn't be neglecting military build up when we know that Chaos is likely approaching.
I think we need a policing force more than we need a fleet. We have fortifications, a decent fleets and we have nobody nearby who really wants to attack us. In terms of the prophecies we'll have at least a couple of turns of warning on both fronts given our existing relationships with those polities.

Hmm, if you're going to be bullish on the Shatterprow/Starlance, I can probably remove Irritia Translators and the Novel Infantry Grade...

Yeah, I'll do that actually.

Don't forget to include a free action to let the Lamenters recruit Librarians!

So, for this turn, if we went all out on research:

3 actions on research = 1.2 actions from glint of genius = 4.2
a cry for future = 1 extra actions
total = 5.2
Does glint of genius then also apply to the extra action from the symphony, adding another .4 actions? Or is double dipping not a thing here.
If double dipping applies, that gest us to 5.6 actions if solely spent on research.

Either way, that should mean we can grab power staves with a single turn of research, and possibly get bigger bonuses from choirs/symponies in the future.

[ ] Plan: MOAR song/symphony bonuses + lamenter Choirs
-[ ] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand (Grace of the Faith - Ixcat)
-[ ] [Free] Allow Lamenters to start recruting psykers for lamenter choirs.
-[] [General] Research:
-[] Improved Psyker Staves (0/5) 5

The ability to create psychic focii is no longer a mere beginner's art within the Glimmering Federation, and with knowledge and familarity comes the ability to strive further than yesterday. With The Sun Melody having become a measuring-stick upon which one can see progress, its is estimated that further refinement will be capable of of reducing the damages incurred into "mere" full-body third-degree burns.
(Gain: Improves Choir efficiency and might when using Songs and Melodies.)
-[] Standard Psychic Hoods 0.2 remaining actions here

Yeah, I think they'd be helpful in general, and we can circle back around to the Novel Infantry stuff when we have an actual war on. Since that will take less time to spool up than, uh, Designing New Ships (TM).

Can you be convinced to switch military action to economic harmonisation with Grove? I would love to pull a North German confederation with them and annex them after we win war toghter

This looks rather enticing, though I would like it if we did a free action to allow Librarians to be recruited and another to change our doctrine to Crusader Fleet one since I believe it has been a century since we last switched it.
