[X]Plan Spirit Father, Shining Daughter
Edit: I won't be using plan voting for this.

...Mostly curiousity but if I'm right this can combine with Fatherhood and Leadership to make Gwarlon something of a 'summoner' build where if you leave him alone he just makes more and more dudes to act on his behalf, which is complimented by Leadership. Could even get that Kitten Daughters trait working for us here, though if it does ah...Noot sure how much I'd want to build on that particular idea given Seryn and her Cath Wyr.

Primarily, it would formalise his leadership over other spirits, especially his kids due to Fatherhood.

[X] [Seryn] Upgrade Aspect of Life
[X] [Seryn] Upgrade Lesser Goddess of Vigour
[X] [Gwarlon] Gain Aspect of Death

Want to bend Seryn toward growth rather than war.
Want us to get a death aspect so that we can have more worship and create an underworld so our people can say their last words to their loved ones on the own time (and possibly have a chance for rebirth or a second attempt at life, though the cost will need to be high). Also, #Pluto.

So, Seryn turned Escalf into a female?

That's sure to change around Sangerish society, regardless of anything else.

Accidentally due to dice rolls. She got a crit against Esclalf when dominating him so she imposed part of her own spiritual nature on him, giving him an Aspect of her one of her Divinities. I rolled a D3 and got Femininity as a result, giving Esclaft an Aspect of Femininity.

And yes, it will definitely irrevocably change Sangerish society. In fact, in a handful of years, the Sangerish culutre will be a variant of Bedywnish and Bedynnish culture that has a major focus on farming between the actions of Seryn and Edryd. Also, Seryn and Edryd are now dating.

Edit: Also updated Isorine on the character sheet.

How much did Seryn sacrifice to the Dice Gods?

She has been critting like crazy lol.

Also, is there any action we can take to learn the traits of the Shadow Spirit, or is that something we'll just learn with time?

She has been critting like crazy lol.

Part of it is due to Seryn becoming a Goddess early without anybody having the opportunity to replicate her success. That gives her a relative bonus against weaker opponents which results and it grants her a significant bonus in her main areas. Because of this, a high roll of hers oftens gets turned into a crit since she focuses mainly on doing stuff in her area of expertise.

Edit: Seryn is big fish in a small pond and it has been showing in how successful she is as bad rolls can be brute forced into not being so bad or even successes.

That said, Seryn has been getting more crits (failures and successes) more than any other person. Part of it might be due to having more actions and dice rolls in general.

Also, is there any action we can take to learn the traits of the Shadow Spirit, or is that something we'll just learn with time?

Studying or experimenting with it. However be warned that the shadow spirit monster is dangerous and the only thing keeping it in check is Gwarlon's hold over it. Having observed and studied for a bit, the general consensus is that the sensible thing to do with it is just consume it for spiritual power before it can break free and cause havoc.

I really wanted to get an animal spirit pet though :(

Since I noticed the Shadow Spirit has 3 spirit tier traits, if Gwarlon was to take his time with consuming it would be be able to get the totality if it's power?

Or would consuming it just upgrade one of our traits like consumption usually does?

Don't worry, Arwyn has your back.

If you were to consume the shadow monster, you could either pick three upgrades or get six random upgrades.

Wait, did Arwyn find something cool while she was out wandering?

I'm so hype! :)

If that's the case, I wouldn't have any problems consuming the Shadow Spirit, especially since we seem to be making headway on culling the Shadow Monsters.

Sooo here's a thought: What if we gave Evatine or Isorine some of the power loots from Shadow?
What I'm thinking is that Isorine trades with us, but technically is still out doing her own thing, I dunno if we've ever actually properly started to shrine-share with her alongside the rest of us. It'd be nice to get her more into the fold, yanno?

[X] [Seryn] Gain Aspect of Loyalty
[X] [Seryn] Upgrade Aspect of Lightning
[X] [Gwarlon] Gain Aspect of Spirits

Should have good synergy with a spirit aspect and the chief aspect.

Vote closed: Loyalty for Seryn for sure, but the ties are going to be broken in favour of Warlord and Spirits.

Hmm, I do admit I'm becoming rather worried about Seryn.

She is, as Oshha described, becoming our "attack dog", especially with the new Warlord trait.
She has a lot of powerful warlike traits, and we really don't have that many people to war with, thank to our general diplomacy expertise.

With the Shadow Monsters almost culled, and the Sangerish now firmly under our thumb, what are we going to do with all of these excess warriors?
Essentially, although Seryn does really well in war, I'm beginning to worry about how well she will do in an extended time of peace.

Maybe we can start a tournament of some sort eventually?

You got a fair few cycles before that starts to be a problem and there will be a couple of options along with whatever else you guys think of on your own. Also Seryn will do fine in an extended period of peace. She'll be lazy, but she wouldn't be causing problems.

Edit: By the way, the update is almost done, but I just remembered that Wyrn had kids this year so I need to get them sorted out.

I guess when your sister is a God known for her Vigour, you can really push it until the kids are made :V

Yep. Technically they could just go to Sangere now for a fertility blessing, but neither Wyrn or Cadyl want to go to Sangere right now so since Wyrn is insistent on kids, they are doing it the old fashion way of fornicating until the lady is pregnant. Given how Wyrn wants more kids, I'm attempted to give her the 'Lusty' trait.

You have a new population at Sangere to work with here, so you can see to the effects of making the more skilled trackers leaner in their breasts, duskier in their complexion and more compact in their strength so that they can stalk prey more easily and to make the stone workers and woodcutters taller, broader and longer of limb so that they can carry larger loads. Figure out how much fine control you have over individual body parts, what are the limits before your power stops helping, or the changes start making them worse at their jobs.

***

This cycle was an interesting one and thankfully, none of it bad.

The wedding between Cadyl and Wyrn went well with your new daughter giving your son a most magnificent diadem with blessings from you, your brother and Seryn while Cadyl got his lover a shirt of solid iron, having found ore and then shaping into the iron item it is now using a mixture of Earth and Metal Magic. While not an exact fit for Wyrn, her blessing from Seryn allowed it to reshape itself to make itself look beautiful on her.

It also gave Evalon some ideas. Speaking of your brother, he and Myrlin were able to figure out how to make additional shrines. For each of your more powerful Aspects, you could have a shrine while a Goddess like Seryn can place shrines anywhere within a region. The end result of this being Evalon adding his new shrine to the family collection in Avawyr.

You are mainly visiting others this cycle, leaving your kids to handle the running of Avawyr while Bronwyn handles trade and assisting Seryn with the construction of the Bedynn boat pens. The girls and Vardyn are proving quite adapt at handling Avawyr, allowing you focus on the wider state of affairs.

In this case, you have spent the cycle either making more Prydymar or formally bring the various friendly villages together from your core set of villages to Isorine and Prylake in the north to Edryd, Esclalf and Sangere in the south.

It went well with both villages and their spirits agreeing to join your authority. No longer the Four Villages and now the Six Villages. Seven if you counted the empty village of Bedygan.

Speaking of Sangere, the southern village has been undergoing radical reform under the gaze of Seryn and Edryd. Even brought Esclalf to heel under her dominance, your daughter has been using Edryd to crush the old Sangerish culture and replace it with something like what exists in Bedywn and Bedynn.

The slaves and wives have been freed while the arts of war and farming are no longer inherently intertwined with the warrior-farmers who would rather remain warriors becoming Cath Wyrs while those who would prefer to remain reject war in favour of farming.

Within a few cycles, the whole situation should stabilised and a new and sustainable status quo should have formed.

The new relationships down in Sangere are somewhat annoying to you, but nothing you cannot bear. Seryn accidentally impose an Aspect of Femininity on Esclalf when dominating him, but he-she is now dancing to the tune of your daughter. The relationship between Edryd and Seryn is somewhat more troublesome as your daughter has taken her latest Chosen as her lover. While you still do not particularly like Edryd, she has earned your respected and impressed you somewhat. Plus her feelings for Seryn are genuine and vice versa.

The only problem is that Cadyl has retained a distaste for the Sangerish, but while that has faded as their old culture is dismantled, your son has retained a hatred for Edryd. You cannot fault him for that as Edryd did once attempt to make Cadyl and Wyrn his baby-producing wives, something you also retain an unhappiness over.

Nonetheless, you ought to try and resolve that situation before it grows out of hand into something actually troublesome.

Speaking of Cadyl and Wyrn and baby-making, Wyrn got her wish and after being impregnated by Cadyl not long after the wedding, she has now popped a set of twins, a boy called Dyrfyn and a girl by the name of Arthyn.

Dyrfyn is pretty normal for baby boy, but Arthyn has clear supernatural aspects like all of your family, including the eyes, tail and ears of her mother and you can feel more varied influence in her spiritual aura than you do with Dyrfyn, whose is normal for a mortal.

While she found her 'bloated gut' to be very annoying despite how her blessings allowed her to do things a normal expecting mother could not, Wyrn remains eager for more kids and mostly metaphorically dragged a resigned Cadyl back to bed for more. A smile forces on your face as you remember how Wyrn was already showing signs of another pregnancy by the start of the Cold Season.

Speaking of oversized body parts, Seryn took some inspiration from the results of Wyrn's bet. While not replicating what Wyrn inflicted upon herself, Seryn attempts to give more specialised bodies to women who do a certain job in order to make their work easier for them.

Her first attempt at making better scouts and trackers is more successful than her later attempts at making better woodworkers and stoneworkers. With her scouts, she managed to give them slightly smaller, but still large breasts, turn their hair black, make their skin either the colour of copper or bark. As for the workers of wood or stone, she made them taller without being freakish whilst slightly broadening their shoulders.

She attempts to lengthen or shorten limbs and otherwise alter the strength of their bodies, but Seryn ran into the limits of her power as while she could easily make external, mostly cosmetic changes or add superficial features, deeper, more internal parts of the body were beyond her ability to change. Oh, she can make one strong and more muscular or increase their vigour and endurance, but your daughter has no fine control over it with most of it being doing or not doing.

And then you had the fact, that most of her followers did not want specific changes determined by Seryn, but to have their bodies looking as how they wanted them. And to your pride as a father, Seryn has been remembering her lessons on consent when it comes to altering the bodies and lives of her followers rather than throwing her weight around.

To cap off the good events of this cycle, Arwyn returned home from her long expedition into the Bydi Forest. While she had much information and knowledge with her along with all of her explorers, your daughter had two things which really stood out to you.

First was another animal spirit. Unlike the Wildcat Spirit or the Wolf Spirit, this animal spirit is not a predator, but a prey beast as it is a Stag Spirit. Arwyn left the beast alone for now, but Seryn has been making it known that she would like to hunt the Stag Spirit if you would let. Still, you could hunt it yourself or just let it be.

As for the other discovery, Arwyn discovered a supernatural well. Rather than containing water, it is filled with a thick goopy liquid that is green and glows somewhat according to Arwyn. Perhaps you should check that out.

That addresses the issues through it remains to be seen how successful it will be.
I mean, the best way I can think of for Cadyl, and eventually everyone of the Six Villages, to overcome their hatred of each other is to see how the other lives and that we are in the end not so different.

This should help Cadyl quite a bit, since Sangerish culture is almost just Bedwynn culture at this point, and the people he hates are so radically different by now that within a few cycles the culture of Sanger will be all but stamped out.

This is especially true for Edyrd, in that he has changed in such a drastic way, becoming a woman who is the chosen of Seryn instead of the Warrior farmer with hundreds of wives.
Sure, the attempt might still fail, but if it does we can just try again next turn from a different angle.
