Nah, Whisper wouldn't shoot the Darcsen, instead, she would shot whatever hero unit you assign to it. She would imagine Eggman has evil plans for them and would try to help them reach Safe lands.
Would need to consider that, could be in the cards, but most likely, any damage he takes from the fight won't be easily heal for next turn

Also, for some reason, I imagine him losing in comical fashion to Big the Cat and come to the conclusion that he's some kind of wise sage. He would then get a questline to learn new moves from Big.

You know.....How about we catch Whisper....and wait until we get to the Metro City (Condemned) region? THEN...we throw her in.
We are the villain-protagonist of this story. But compared to the rest of the world? We're basically a saint. So we BURN that bit of info into GUN and Restoration's collective brains. And we continue to do so. We could just use Metro City, or Nightmare, as examples that WE are the best hope for the world, since Sonic is MIA. AND we should probably create A LOT of deadman switches. If they SUCCEED in offing us, the consequences WILL doom them, no questions.
As for a dance off after the fight between Shard and Metal? It'd be hilarious....just hope our operatives are up for it.
As for Shard vs Metal? I get the feeling that Shard WILL make an escape attempt. If he gets away....Metal will probably seethe.
If Metal wins...I hope Shard will be (somewhat) intact enough for us to extract some data...perhaps his core personality. We can keep Shard in a locked corner of Eggnet, so Sage has another AI to talk to.

Big feels high Power and Heart, really low Brains and Trickery (maybe bordering on 1). Logistic also feels low. Might have medium Mystic? Like, he is extreme in most areas, either great or terrible. So we'd need a good Logistics, Brain and Trickery.
... Starline? His power is not terrible though... but they have the opposite luck.

I feel like it should be less about stats, and more about character. Like a fraud who just happens to give Kiryu really good advice without realizing that's what he's doing. Or Kiryu just misinterprets what he's told...
Well.....perhaps after we make some investigations via Badniks (Egg Drones, most likely), we outfit Whisper with something that can cancel out the sonic signal in the City....THEN throw her in....and let her go ham on the criminal element.
You know what would be hilarious? If Eggman has a Sega Saturn. He'd be the only one who's not affected by this. So he'd sit back and enjoy the show of Segata pummeling everyone.
