I think we can safely ignore mysticism for now since we are not going to look for magical artifacts yet.

We need is a good Hearst Hero unit and Clove is perfect since no doubt he DC roll will be high if we don't pick here since it will take a lot to convince her to work for another Dr. Eggman and next turn we can use Clove to recruit Paestol for her mysticism status and Nephtys to make sure nobody else pick the vulture.

The problem of the Egg Bosses it's that they hold a lot of knowdlge of doctor MO so they will be a pain to deal in the future.

My vote goes for him, Majima is the fucking GOAT! THE GOAT!!! Although I'm a bit surprised he doesn't have any stewardship stuff given he was "Sotenbori's Lord of the Night", managing an army of robots under the rule of a mad scientist can't be any different than running a hostess club.

Though if we go for Clove instead we better come back Majima next turn, it's non negotiable for me.

I understand where you're coming from. I like the guy as well but we can get them next turn through a Herat action which is why I want to recruit Clove and her sister since we're currently lacking anyone besides Bell (who knows how long before we do something bad.) who has a decent heart score. Plus I want to help them. They're pretty cool.

The Egg bosses are a must for me since they know Eggman MO and can be a very powerful tool against us from whatever King or prince that get them.

Majima opens a bunch of interesting stuff, but I feel it's better to focus on covering our weaknesses first. Majima would like to push more to being the type of figure we would want in an adventure, and we have better martial options promptly available.

Of the remaining heroes...we are not pushing for Heart right now, Belle will help cover that front for the time being, and we are absolute monsters in Brains and Logistics in-between Starline and Eggman. Furthermore, Metal Sonic helps cover Martial actions for now, so our main focus should be Trickery and Mystics, which makes me think that we should for either Nephthys or Piastol, who would likely be our best at Mystics until we get a proper sorcerer backing us. And I feel getting more knowledge about what is going on other areas is important, so I'm pushing for Nephthys.

I don't know, Clove is time limited and Belle will absolute refuse to engage in diplomacy with more shady characters and we are not even sure if she will stick around.

Not obly that but Clove no doubt will be a high roll DC since it will take a lot for her to go back working for Eggman again right now we have the opportunity to get her free plus havibg the opportunty to also earning Cassia as another Hero as well.

Two Heroes for the price of one.

I love how offended eggman is that one of his versions COULDN'T DO SOMETHING

I really, really want Piastol and Majima, but that's my personal preference. Piastol in Skies of Arcadia is a reoccurring boss who wields death magic and is one of the harder fights in the game. I'm not sure if her personal hunting hound will come with her or not. Majima is a madman with incredible combat skills, but he's also clever and a trickster beneath the madness. You don't survive 20+ years as an active member of the Yakuza without being a badass and a schemer.

I do think for our first go around we should probably pick the Pronghorn sisters. They have story potential, Eggman has a vested interest in them, and they might be time sensitive. But I would highly recommend that we consider taking Piastol for her Mystic powers, and Majima for what I hope is his trickster skills.
 
I want to eventually* work our way through this crop of Eggboss options starting with the Pronghorns. The Pronghorns are definitely one of the ones on a time limit. Belle will like us trying to cure someone and I know it's kind of metagamey but I think one of the best way's to counteract Archie Eggmans memories influencing our Eggman when they inevitably surface is going out of our way to wave in our doctors face that our doctor is superior. And developing a cure when Archie Eggman was unable or unwilling to is a way to do that.

*I'm not opposed to recruiting the others on the list but I do want them all these Eggbosses eventually.

Any way Hero wise I think our best picks are


Pistoal- To shore up our Mystic weakness, and having a Reaper on our side is always useful...don't know much about her though so I can't vouch for her reliablity...

Proghorns- Basic principle, pride, time limit, and likely has a decent spread of stats in useful areas.

Canaan- Literally an anime character! Almost certianly on level with Metal sonic combat wise, and also a Heart unit with superpowers. Also a connection to Maria which if the same thing happened to her then us then...very worth investigating.


The above three are the ones I consider highest priority. Followed by Nack, Majima, and the other old subordinates.

Getting our hands on a Valkria lance would make our inevitable confrontation with Selvaria a lot easier, and others don't really need an explanation.


Personally my top two picks are-

Proghorns, and Canaan.

Immideately useful to us, interesting narrative hooks and Belle would probably like them.

Canaan might be an anime character, but she first appeared in the visual novel game 428: Shibuya Scramble. Published by Sega. The game is one of, if not, the best visual novel i have ever watched/played. I had to bring on of their characters to this quest one way ro another. Canaan is an overall badass so yeah, the Metal Sonic comparison isn't that far off.

If reliability you want, Piasol is a solid choice, expert bounty hunter of Pirates, and as griffinlw said, is one of the hardest bosses of Skies of Arcadia, thought that's also cause the bosses do scale with your level of your party, so no matter how much you grind, you can't just raise your stats to just one shot her. And her Death Hound is a menace in battle.

If reliability you want, Piasol is a solid choice, expert bounty hunter of Pirates, and as griffinlw said, is one of the hardest bosses of Skies of Arcadia, thought that's also cause the bosses do scale with your level of your party, so no matter how much you grind, you can't just raise your stats to just one shot her. Alright so yeah, I'd say our top picks our Piasol, Canaan, and the Proghorns.

Proghorns should be a good start since Clove has a descent Heart Status thus making recruitment of other Hero Units easier.

Also we should consider Thunderbolt at some point she has eletronics traits thus making the attempts to hack in the Egg net when the time comes much easier.

Mildly inconvenient we can't see their stats. I'm fairly sure Canaan is outright superior but the Proghorns are more pressing.

...Honestly Thunderbolt distrubs me.
 
I'm a big fan of Skies of Arcadia so I guess I'll give you guys the spoiler-free Piastol Lore.

As a child Piastol lost everything to Sky Pirates: her family, her status, and very nearly her life. Finding herself lost and adrift, she devotes her life to hunting down Black Pirates and Blue Rogues alike, seeing them all as the same brutal pirates who took everything from her. Despite her young age, she developed a title as the Angel of Death. When a pirate receives a Black Spot from her, it's a sign that she's hunting them and moving in for the kill. Ironically, I believe she receives a bounty herself despite technically being a bounty hunter.

Upon meeting Vyse for the first time, Piastol instantly clocks him as her rival and begins a long side story that spans nearly the entire game. Vyse's crew and Piastol clash 4 times with increasing intensity in each bout. Canonically she never defeats Vyse, but that's less of a mark against her and more of a sign of Vyse and his crew's prowess. There's no shame in losing to Vyse The Battle Lord/Sky Battle King Vyse

In gameplay terms, she's a mixed physical and magical attacker who has her own versions of Vyse's cutlass fury and rain of swords attacks. On the magical front she has a preference for Silver Magic, which has power over life and death. Naturally, as the Angel of Death, she focuses on the death part and loves to inflict instant death. I think she also picks up Blue magic (wind/water magic I think) at some point. If you ever actually play Skies of Arcadia I highly suggest having Aika spam her magic shield during Piastol fights. Deathound is Piastol's support, a trained monstrous canine with the ability to cast healing magic and inflict poison on her enemies. Deathound is strong, but Piastol is definitely the damage dealer in their duo.

Yeah she's the stereotypical obsessive fan exept for Eggman instead of a celebrity. In the comics she even had pictures of Eggman and metal sonic but with her head pasted over Metals. Shes violent and obsessive but loyal and (more importantly to Archie Eggman) skilled enough to make it to Eggboss rank. We should get her eventually but unless she does something to get arrested (not unlikely) she'll keep for a while.

I don't think so, Clove was a Egg Boss, a general, and her troops love her and were 100% loyal to her and her sister to the point they worry for Cassia health every time the younger sister was deployed in the field.

So expect her to have status to match a general of the Egg Army so she would have very good status in Power, Heart, Logistics and descent status in Trickery as well.

Remember Egg Bosses conquer and ruled continents for Doctor Eggman in the Archie Comics so expect they status to reflect that. I very much expect Egg Bosses to be top tier minions.

This actually does raise a good question are the egg grandmaster here as well? From the old Archie sonic continuity.

Canaan and Pistoal can wait. That sort of competence is too be valued highly and extremely.

After we help cure clove sister and prove ourselves as the superior eggman after all, fulfilling one's promise does lead to greater loyalty down the road

I hope not the Grandmaster in my opinion were too flat, although it's possible the Dark Legion is here and are setting shop on the Angel Island. Who knows maybe they are fighting the Nocturnus Clan there as well.

I mean the dice to acquire the Master Emerald is very high so it means someone is protecting it.
