Reflections of Metal.
Fuck it, all this talk got my muse up.

Reflections of Metal.

Metal Sonic was irked.

As he was being repaired after a quite close fight.

He couldn't help but think about the situation.

While his creator was entertaining the idea of a a cease fire between The Restoration and G.U.N. he understood it.

He had reviewed the records of the old black arms invasion.

Black Doom did everything he could to play every single one of them like a fiddle while the alien reaped the rewards.

He saw the logic behind the ''alliance'', after the shattering the world was far too chaotic to try the old methods.

They needed to adapt, they needed to evolve if they wanted to survive the coming storm.

At least until his creator had amassed a force strong enough to crush everyone that opposses them.

A force he could very well co- OBEY EGGMAN.

No, the creator knew the best, he just needed to do what he was told and take out the creator enemies.

But if there was a spoken fact about this little truce.

Is that they didn't need to get along.

The creator for sure would never get along with the ones that caused him trouble for so much time.

It was the same for him.

He would never get along with the allies of his loathsome copy.

Especially not him.

He would rust away before he even though of giving that cheap knockoff any other treatment other than sending him to the scrapyard.

''And that should be the last touch up'' Doctor Eggman said as he pulled up his wielding mask.

Metal Sonic just moved the arm that had been removed during the battle, testing his articulations and calibrating his systems.

''Looks like everything is green with your systems Metal, but still this is the 3rd time this month you get into a fight with that robot of the restoration and we are not even done with half of the month'' Doctor Eggman berated his greatest creation.

Metal ignored it, this wouldn't be the last time he got into a fight with that knockoff he was sure of it as he started to go away.

''Metal stand in place'' Eggman said annoyed.

At the order the machine stood there motionless, it was obvious he was pushing his creator patience.

''Look Metal I know you are irked about that robot, I was baffled when he even appeared on the first place, but I want you to listen to me very carefully'' his creator said in a neutral tone.

Metal neutral expression continued, his creator knew him better than anyone, he created him and programmed him after all.

He was made to be the one and only Sonic after all.

So for another version of him to be out there, it was something he couldn't accept, he was the one and only Sonic.

The only reason that he hadn't dismantled that pirate knockoff is because his creator hadn't seen the necessity to approach him yet.

But when the right moment came oh he will enjoy sending that copy of his to rust to the bottom of the ocean.

There can be only one Sonic after all.

''I still don't know what is up with all these other versions of you out there, but I want you to remember that you are the only Metal Sonic in existence, someone I cannot replace'' his creator said in a neutral tone.

He wanted to refute that, especially due to the existence of the other models of the metal series.

And yet.

He couldn't, his programming knew it, no matter how many times they had failed in destroying his loathsome copy or even when he went trough his rebellious phase.

His creator had never truly replaced him, he always came back from him.

''Don't worry about these inferior copies my boy, when the right moment comes, heh we will do what it needs to be done, but for now blegh, we need to play nice with the neighbours'' his creator said those last words with disdain.

He just gave a thumbs up and went away once again.

And yet, Metal couldn't help but to go back to his old memory archive.

He cannot be replaced.

Those words lingered on his mind for a good while.

Looking back at all the moments on which his creator could replace him.

And yet.

Stardust Speedway date: XX-X-XXXX

As Metal Sonic fell to the bottoms of Stardust speedway, his system slowly shutting down, he couldn't help but look up as his creator ran pass the barrier towards his base of operations on Metallic Madness.

He had failed, he lost againts that blue rat.

He was supposed to be the fastest thing alive and yet, here he was falling, shutting down, dying.

His creator had put his trust in him and yet he failed him.

He was a failure he deserved this.

Or at least that was what he though.

When his systems flared back to life he was confused, his system was supposed to never again to flare back online and yet. he was functioning, barely, but he was online.

And then he saw his creator, commanding him to come back to certain coordinates on mobius as little plannet was once again close to it.

So he did, it was a difficult journey, but he did.

Then his creator for some reason proceeded to repair him.

He couldn't understand it, he had failed and yet, his creator proceeded to need of him once again.

So he accepted his new mission.

Death Egg MK2. date: XX-X-XXXX

But things didn't go differently this time either, he once again had challenged his loathsome copy to a race aboard the death egg that held prisoner little planet.

With his new body he would defeat this time his loathsome copy.

And yet story repeated itself once again.

He failed, this time something different happened on the other hand.

As a horde of badniks had loaded him into an escape pod and set coordinates into a hidden base from his creator.

Had his creator told them to sent him here? he never knew the answer.

Atomic destroyer date: XX-X-XXXX

This time his creator had managed to get away with one of the chaos emeralds, so he was tasked to make sure the blue nuisance didn't get to his creator and the echidna he managed to capture.

This time he wasn't playing games anymore, this time he was going to kill his loathsome copy.

Only to once again end up in failure.

Yet his creator once again recovered him and repaired him much to his intrigue.

Carnival Island date: XX-X-XXXX

His creator this time was after something different, the chaos and dark rings were a curious thing, even for Metal Sonic.

They set shop within the island after it appeared from the bottom of the sea after the incident with the master emerald.

His loathsome copy was nowhere in sight so they had pretty much free reign to do what they could.

That was until the Chaotix team reached the island.

Composed by Knuckles the Echidna, Vector the crocodile, Charmy Bee, Espio the chameleon and Mighty the armadillo, they proceeded to cause all kinds of trouble for them across the island.

Metal Sonic decided that enough was enough and confronted the team at the central hub of the island.

Only to be defeated as the defense system he was incorporated in was destroyed.

But his creator did the unthinkable, instead of powering up one of his machines with the last dark ring they had, his creator decided to power up Metal Sonic despite his failure.

At that point Metal Sonic couldn't care anymore, he was holding a power he never had before and he would crush those meddlesome creatures once and for all with his Kai form.

And yet the five mobians had managed to defeat him.

All that power and he lost once again.

Egg Fleet date: XX-X-XXXX

He then finally reached the date of his most rebellious phase.

His creator had taken a long while to complete his greatest update, the bio-data scanner, after thinkering with it for so long and the happening of the Chaos and Ark incident, the system that would let him reach his peak was finally installed within him.

After his defeat at the hands of the Chaotix, he knew that he needed to use whatever means he had access to defeat finally those that had caused him so much trouble over the years.

Even if he needed to betray his creator, he would be the overlord that stood on top of everything.

Taking over the badniks horde with his creator bio-data was easy enough.

Then taking the samples of the twelve individuals that stood againts him trough trickery was even easier.

He had finally reached his apex as both Neo Metal as the Metal Overlord.

And yet.

He once again failed, no matter how many times he tried, he continued failing.

Not only that, but this time he had gone a step futher and betrayed the one that still saw utility in him.

After being recovered once again by his creator Metal Sonic expected to be dismantled there in that instant.

And yet, his creator did no such thing.

''I must say, at first I was beyond furious at what you did Metal, to think you would be so ungrateful after all of what I have done for you, all the resources I spent on you, all the years of bringing you back again and again, only for you to betray my trust'' Eggman words echoed with dissapointment.

''And yet, you weren't programmed for it, you somehow went and grew beyond your programming, you always wanted to reach new heights, to finally crush those that opposed us, to finally prove yourself, you took the opportunity to stand atop of the world unmatched, much like I will do once that pincushion is out of the picture'' Eggman said this time with pride.

''I must say my genius surprises me that you even reached this point, but at the same time, it was you who took the opportunity, you who decided what suited you better, trust me, I will patch that rebellious phase out of you, but if there is something I must say right at this moment about you is only one thing'' Eggman words continued echoing within the memory of the machine.

''I am proud of you'' Eggman last words during that day echoed within him as his software was finally updated.

STOP REPRODUCTION OF ARCHIVE.

Despite all the defeats, despite all the humillations, despite everything that he did.

His creator was proud of him.

He had know after that, that his creator would never replace him.

For his creator there would be only one and only Metal Sonic.

And yet that didn't stop his annoyance at his obviously inferior copies.

Especially the one he meet recently.

Metal couldn't delete that first encounter.

It was when he was raiding another camp of those fools called the empire.

He was having a great time making those soldiers fear him.

But just when he tried to continue his fun.

He appeared.

''You know, don't you think you had enough fun already?'' a mocking voice resounded within Metal auditive sensors.

The voice it sounded so much like his loathsome copy, but yet different, for one reason.

It was a robotic voice.

As Metal Sonic let go of human he had grabbed by the neck, he decided to amuse his curiosity and see who had stopped his mission.

He wasn't prepared to see what stood before him.

It was a black metallic visage and with gold lines based on a hedgehog desing, a green gem of uknown origin embed in his chest and green eyes, but also a cocky smile far too resembling that loathsome copy.

''What's the matter cat got your tongue?, then again I doubt you expected to ever see me again'' the uknown robot said to him with a sense of familiarity Metal didn't understand, he had never seen this model before.

And yet it irked him, that it was so similar not only to his loathsome copy, but that it was also similar to him.

''Well, giving you a chance here, you can go away now to whenever egghead is holed up or you can try to continue this little massacre of you and I sent you directly into the scrapyard, your choice'' the mysterious robot said with a direct threat to Metal.

So what did he do?

He charged a spindash at the robot as soon as possible and launched himself at it.

He didn't expect for the robot to react in kind with his own spindash.

As both spindash clashed, both robots were pushed back from the potency of it, at that point Metal was intrigued about this new unit.

But that curiosity soon turned into unfiltered rage.

''So that is how you want to play eh?, well don't say I didn't warn you, it is time I pay you back for last time imitator'' the uknown unit mocked him.

If Metal could blow a fuse without suffering damage to his internal systems he would have done so, it was a thing to copy his loathsome copy design, it was a thing to stop his mission.

But calling him an imitation?

He didn't care anymore, this unit would be sent to the scrapyard personally by him.

And yet when he took another look to the unit, his appareance had changed a little.

The green gem was a blood red now, one of his arms was transformed into a canon and finally, the former green eyes, had transformed into a very familar blood red eyes.

His eyes.

He was a machine, things like existensial dread was something he wasn't programmed to understand.

And yet he couldn't help but feel as if he was looking into a mirror.

A very twisted mirror.

And yet he didn't care, this unit had insulted him on a level only his loathsome copy had done it.

So his priority right now was to crush him.

As the battle raged on Metal didn't care about what time it was.

Destroying this uknown unit was the only thing he cared for at the moment.

Even when the annoying platypus and his ''sister'' had commanded him to come back to base.

They weren't his creator, so he ignored the order.

He didn't notice when the battle was over, but he didn't care, he was battered up a little, with one of his eyes broken and one arm missing.

But his opponent was also just as badly damaged as him, with one leg missing and his left hand totally crushed.

And yet he couldn't be irked more, because the damn faker was still smiling like his loathsome copy.

''Ha, gotta say the doc didn't really do a good job getting you back up considering some of the stuff you are missing, but man you are still one hell of a fighter to get me down to this state, but still not as good as the original, as I told you once, accept no imitations'' the uknown unit mocked him once again.

At that point Metal wanted to end this charade, to put this fool in the scrapyard and melt his remains.

And yet he couldn't do it, as he felt something tugging him trough that platypus portal.

He didn't get to see the reaction of the uknown unit, but what he did get to see was his creator clearly not very amused by his shenanigans.

Metal couldn't help but clutch his hand into a fist.

That entire month had been a mess in general, not only his creator had to spent valuable resources into fixing his little tirade.

But also someone had managed to hack into the Eggnet despite Sage's defenses.

To say the creator wasn't happy in the least would be putting it lightly.

To everyone surprises, the being that managed to do it was of similar nature to that of her ''sister''

It took a while to discover the identities of the ones that had caused so much trouble for them.

But her ''sister'' was hellbent on getting to know in her own words ''that digital fleabag'' so he decided to help her to investigate the identities of the ones that humillated them.

It didn't take them long to discover that the robot unit and the AI belonged to the restoration.

Probably belonging to an alternate timeline much like the creator Egg bosses did.

But both didn't care, Sage had managed to discover the one that managed to get pass her defenses, one Nicole the Holo-Lynx.

On the other hand Metal had discovered the one that irked him so badly.

Shard the Metal Sonic.

Just the though of the name reviled him to no end.

After that both of them had gotten into scuffles here and there with both of them.

Well in the case of his ''sister'' it was a mix of scuffle with the restoration AI, while developing some curiosity over the unit designated as Shard.

But Metal Sonic didn't care.

Whatever his ''sister'' did was up to her, he won't be questioning it.

But he had added a new directive to his objectives.

And that was to dealt with Shard the Metal Sonic permanently.

He will show that cheap knockoff who truly was the original.

After all just a cheap knockoff would truly imitate his loathsome copy.

And yet he cannot stop thinking on why that cheap knockoff is able to pull off so perfectly an imitation of his loathsome copy.

He wonders just what makes that knockoff so close to Sonic the Hedgehog.

And yet uknown to the murder machine, said cheap knockoff was also thinking on his ''imitator''.

''And done, that should be the last joint Shard, why don't you test it out'' Rotor the Walrus said to the robot on the repair table.

As Shard did just that he could tell the repair was perfectly done.

It may not be the quality of Uncle Chuck, but honestly considering the situation is not something be can really whine about.

''Thanks for the repairs Rotor, I really needed that'' Shard thanked the Walrus for making time to do this.

''Anything for a friend really, but still, you should really stop picking fights with that guy Shard, this is the third time you come to my workshop for repairs this month'' Rotor said to the Metal Sonic.

''Yeah, yeah sorry about that, but that guy just ticks me off to no end'' Shard said annoyed when thinking about his well counterpart.

The last thing Shard remembered was being in the middle of an explosion thanks to a self-destruct detonated by one of Eggman lastest variations of his original visage.

He could feel how his gem was mostly cracked in the explosion, he really though that was the end of it.

But then he heard something shatter, the next thing he knew is that he was back online within the so called restoration.

It took him a while to get used to it, but he wasn't going to really throw away this well third leash at life.

Even if he couldn't do much until recently with the kick off of the black arms from Green Hills, when he was back online and fully functional, they warned him inmediatly about the Zeti and what they could do to machinery.

Yeah he wasn't stupid to gamble with that.

His first real mission was to scout the empire territory nearby.

He never expected to find him, of all the things he could find it had to be him.

Seeing Metal Sonic was not a good surprise for him.

It reminded him too much of what the egghead was capable off.

Of what he once was before.

After all that was his original body frame.

As the Metal Sonic went back to his room and sat on a computer to make a report of his latest battle to Jewel, he still had these last months events in mind.

Many were baffled at how the Doctor had decided to reveal himself once again to the world.

Like the man they knew would have never done what he did in the first place.

Still he cannot deny those were some good dance moves.

And yet the massacre at that camp reminded Shard of what Eggman could accomplish if he wanted.

So he fought what at first he though was his impostor.

But after a little digging with the help of Nicole in the restoration archives and egghead database, well he couldn't really call him an impostor anymore.

''So I heard what happened, are you okay Shard?'' a female voice he knew well talked to him from within the computer screen taking him out of his thinking.

After finding themselves in this crazy new world, Nicole and Shard had done everything possible to help each other and find their friends.

There were a lot of people who was still unnacounted for.

And well Nicole was honestly the only one Shard really knew well apart from Larry, so they had stuck together since finding themselves here.

''Yeah, yeah nothing a little welding and oil couldn't really repair'' he lied, Nicole had tried to have this conversation with him for a while now.

But well opening up wasn't exactly a strenght of his.

''Shard come on, we have been over this already, you can talk to me about this'' Nicole pleaded to his friend.

Shard sighed, he knew this was a lost battle already, he had been bottling up this thing for a while now and honestly at least Nicole could understand what he is going trough.

''You want to know? fine, look I know I have been getting into too many fights with that guy, but it is just that I cannot stand him, I just cannot Nicole, like at first I though that guy was just another model egghead made to replace me in the first place'' Shard explained as he told his friend.

''But then, suddenly a portal appears out of nowhere and drags him to what I suppose is egghead base, next time we encounter each other I see he is all repaired up, thinking that the old doctor went and replaced him, again'' Shard continues his tirade as Nicole looks worried at his friend.

''Then our battles continue, we dissasemble each other time and time again, but then I start noticing things, I start noticing that his frame still has minuscule dents, here and there, that his frame is not entirely new, but repaired, that I realize that I have been fighting the exact same guy time and time again and not just a replacement'' Nicole had known Shard for a while now and knew he had trouble still adapting to his new identity and some of those included some touchy subjects for him, like his own past.

''Then I actually get up to speed with history and discover that this guy isn't just some replacement Eggman made, that my frame wasn't used for some cheap mass production badnik, no I learn that somehow a version of me has lasted with the doctor all these years, that instead of being just a quick and done scheme, he actually stuck with me, can you believe it, me being jealous of being under that madman control still instead of having the freedom I have right now'' Shard just put his hands at the air as if he was giving up.

''Shard, I mean, it is not wrong that you want something like that, I know your relationship between Sonic family and you wasn't really the best, without counting your own history with Robotnik'' Nicole said.

''Understament of the year'' Shard said annoyed.

Nicole couldn't blame him, before being put here, the usual reaction to Shard between the freedom fighters and people in general was that of mistrust, someone that they didn't want around, a tool to be used for the secret freedom fighters and a tool without identity for Robotnik.

Even if his situation here was a lot better due to apparently being a lot more of creations that went rogue againts the doctor.

Problems like that don't dissapear just like that.

For Shard it was like a gut punch that even one version of the doctor kept him around even after events like the metal overlord incident that they read.

At first they couldn't really belive it, the doctor simply didn't care for other people or his creations.

At least the one they knew.

And yet that view changed the more Shard encountered his mirror self in this version of Metal.

A future that could had been him if he didn't had a change of heart

And the barrier was completetly demolished when they met Sage.

While the childlike AI had taken an unusual resentment to the Holo-Lynx.

Shard still had a hard time thinking Eggman could actually care for someone so much to call her daughter.

Much less for him to be called brother, that is something he still was getting used to.

And yet something within him felt warm, he still didn't truly know what to make of Sage, but the idea of actually having a family was one he entertained, at least so the little girl didn't go back crying to daddy asking for a carpet bombing.

Shard knew enough that a pissed off doctor was something not to mess with.

Especially after the beatdown that red guy got at his hands.

Before they could continue talking alarms started blaring off.

''What is that, are we under attack?'' Shard asked inmediatly getting ready to combat whatever threat that was coming their way.

Nicole on the other hand just groaned ''Ugh, it is that brat again, someone opened a contaminated email with another one of her viruses and is infecting the entire system''

''Hah looks like she really got it going for you Nicole'' Shard couldn't help but smile a little at her sister shenaningans.

The little kid had pulled stunts like these before already, sending viruses that downloaded and put on the speakers to everyone to hear the music the doctor had sung to reveal himself to green hills.

Something he found amusing, much to Nicole annoyance, the Holo-Lynx normally had to take the rest of the afternoon to get rid of whatever his little sister sent.

It is not like he can do anything about it and it is surely not the fact that Nicole apparently bullied the kid a little in their encounter on the cyber space.

Well this was Nicole area of expertise either way, as both said their goodbyes to each other.

Shard couldn't help but think back to what was pretty much his mirror.

He was happy of being who he was, he was Shard and nothing could ever change that.

And yet part of him couldn't help but to think back at Metal Sonic.

Despite everything, deep down a part of him still wanted more.

To be part of something else, to be part of a family.

He for sure would never go back to work with that Maniac of egg head.

He would rust before that Even happens.

But he cannot help but to call his alternate self a lucky bastard for the fact he was never treated like recyclabe trash.

Truly this new World was strange isn't it?.

As I said the talk of Metal Sonic and Shard got me inspired.

Those two no doubt would be like water and oil.

Like Metal Sonic would no doubt feel offended that there is one than more versión of him out there.

After all the can only be one true Sonic

Reason of why he hates Shard with all his night, not only he would consider him an inferior version

But he would be beyond irked that somehow a cheap knockoff is so similar to his loathsome copy.

Also some more into Metal backstory, like despite everything Eggman continued upgrading and mantaining him after every single defeat and honestly the events of episode Metal happening just after 3 and Knuckles makes a Lot of sense.

As for Shard is the opossite, poor guy has a Lot of trauma to unload, but he is jealous of Metal because despite everything Even pulling a coup on Eggman, he is still wanted around despite everything, unlike Shard who got throw into the bin as soon as his defeats started acumulating.

Either way it is almost 5 AM so hope You guys enjoy this.

Christmas With (The) Eggman (Empire)

Something feels... Off. Very off. And you can't exactly tell why. You're not sure why you're having this ill feeling around Christmas time (at least, you assume it is, thanks to the snow covering Green Hill Zone), but it just feels like something's... missing.

"Merry Christmas, sir!"

"Thanks you Stone." You softly reply as you accept the gift wrapped present he offers you, a small smile on your face. You gently shake it once and - "Coffee maker!"

"Heh. I never can surprise you, can I, sir?" Stone chuckles, before making room for Starline to hand you his gift as well.

"Hmm." *Shake* "Are those... test tubes?"

"It's actually a collection of different modifications I've made to my equipment, including a neurotic meant to incapacitate instead of kill." Starline explains with a smirk. "This is actually a slightly refined version of the formula I use in my 'boots'. I figured that it would be wise to improve upon in case you wish to take more prisoners.*

"How... efficient." You nod slowly, setting it down as carefully as you can. "Now -"

"Father, someone is here to see you." Sage suddenly says as her holographic avatar appears next to you, a concerned look on her face. "She says that she's your -"

*Slam!*

[Shattered Mind Rol-]

"OH, IVY, IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!"

[INTERRUPT!]

"... Hello there, mother."

You are Doctor Eggman, and you really should be used to your mother and father, alongside your little brother, Bubby Robotnik, appearing at any Christmas party you're at. Yet, in this case, it does make sense why you're put off balance by their appearance. Namely: Reality threw up in its own brain and had a mental breakdown right afterwards, so the "you" that set this entire thing up didn't even know that these three were related to him.

"It is good to see you again, Ivo." Father rumbles before bowing.

"The same to you, dad."

"Muh!"

"And to you to, Bubby."

"Sir, are these..." Stone starts to say, trying his best not to utter the words 'variants of', "... your parents?"

"Yes, yes they are, Stone." You let out an apathetic sigh, before shaking your head. "It's... Good to see you again, mama."

"And it's so good to see you again, Ivy!" Your mother claps her hands together as Father rolls her wheelbarrow forward. "Especially with so many new friends of yours to serve in your empire! Though, I see that Silvy isn't here."

"Muh!"

"You just know how much Bubby and me love that Silvy almost as much as -"

"Biscuits." You finish for her, before pointing at a nearby table, "And, speaking of biscuits, why don't you have some?"

"Oh, do you have any hibiscus tea too, Ivy?"

"Ivy, you always know exactly what I want!" Mama Robotnik cheers as Father pushes the Eggbarrow over to the table. "You're such a a good son!"

"... Thank you, mama." You whisper, a single tear falling from your eyes... before you vanish.

"... At least those creep cousins or hick didn't come this year." You mutter in annoyance, even as you hold your 'little brother's while your mother gorges herself on a mountain of biscuits and practically drowns herself in hibiscus tea. "Still, this is a boon in many ways."

"What do you mean, sir?"

"I've got memories of Sonic's house blowing up and Silver being mauled by a bear, so that's a plus! Ohohohohoho!"

A/N: ... I like Christmas with Sonic.

Christmas With (The) Eggman (Empire) - P2
Christmas With (The) Eggman (Empire) - P2

You are Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, and you feel... lost, in a sense. Suddenly having parents that you never had, a little brother you knew didn't exist, appear in the middle of your lab, causing another one of those events to happen... it wasn't something you could just laugh off and ignore completely, no matter what you told Stone. Even if those memories where Sonic is constantly enjoyed on Christmas day are a very welcomed gift.

But, seeing 'Mama' and Father happily discuss the past of their you with Starline, who hangs on every single one of their words, how Belle and even Sage seem to baby Bubby... You can't help but wonder if more "family members", Robotniks from other realities, are going to pop up. And, if so, how are they going to react to this group? Will they just accept them, will they hate them?

And that train of logic leads you down another path... What if Sonic is in the same boat as you? Your new memories make it clear that that Sonic was the son of "Aleena The Hedgehog" and the older brother of "Sonia" and "Manik", something that completely contradicts every other memory you possess. Sonic is, from what the other two yous can tell, an only child, with no known mother. Will you have to deal with multiple versions of Sonic's parents and siblings coming along to try and tear everything you've built down?

It's -

"Is something wrong, Sir?" You freeze as Stone places a comforting hand on your shoulder.

"... These new memories, Stone, they're created more questions than answers." You sigh lowly.

"Do you want to talk about them, Sir?" Stone questions, concern in his voice as he pulls up two chairs.

"These aren't 'my' parents, 'my' sibling." You begin as you take a seat. "Yet, they still ARE my family, the mother, father, and brother of another me. And, despite me just meeting them... I still care about them, Stone." You admit in a soft tone. "These new memories, they show me how annoying they are... but, at the same time, that me would tear through heaven and hell just to protect them."

"Do you... Wish to talk about these, memories, Sir? That might help you clear your head for a bit." Stone suggests.

"... That me is a lot like this me and the me who held that tournament," You start, "I fought that damn hedgehog as often as I could, trying to defeat him once and for all. I tried to destroy his family's Christmas for two years, in revenge for them never thinking to even offered me an invitation... until that rat's mother told me she had, but she had actually sent it to an old, abandoned base by accident.

After that? Well, I just started... going to those Christmas parties, and they were... fun. Sure, he did blame me for blowing up his house when it was Silver who did it, and we did crash land on a tropical island one time, and then one of our battles crippled Santa so we had to take over his job for a day..." You trail off for a second, before shaking your head. "Honestly? Those Christmas days were probably the few times that me ever truly felt happy, even if I did spend my time around my greatest enemy. Seeing people like Cream and Vanilla, who I remember terrifying, smile at me, thank me for my gifts, being able to reconcile with my parents after years of avoiding them, being able to laugh alongside Sonic's friends whenever something went wrong for him... I kind of wish we had a similar tradition here."

"Well, Sir, who's going to stop you?" Stone asks after a few moments of silence.

"... What do you mean?" You tilt your head slightly in confusion.

"What's stopping you from making that one of your tradition?" He grows a light smile. "I mean, we'd have to build a new facility just for it, so no spies can freely walk around the main base. But, if you truly do like it, then why not try and make it happen here? Who's going to stop you?"

"..." A wide grown steadily starts to grow across your face, "You always know just what to say, Stone."

"Ha, I merely try my best, Sir!"

A/N: ... I REALLY like Christmas with Sonic.

Chris Thorndyke Was a little uneasy as he stared at eggman and his father talking.
Working with eggman just rubbed him the wrong way.

"Hello"

GAHH

Chris quickly turned left and was shocked to see a girl standing next to him with strange red and blue lighting.

"Uh hello in Chris"

"I am sage"

Ohhh this is the ai grandpa mentioned he was honestly expecting something else.
Actually she was kind Of cute.

"Oh uhhh thank you"

Chris realized he had accidentally said that out loud and was about to apologize profusely as he blushed.

"BOY GET AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER"

chris nearly jumped out of his skin as he quickly turned around and found hims self facing eggman.

"oh i uhhh"

I don't want to hear it SAGE! come here please

sage floats over to eggman and they begin to move away but sage turns around and guves him a little wave goodbye.

chris blushes as he thinks only one thing.

I am so screwed

Honor Between Minds
Honor Between Minds

Chuck would not lie in saying that he was nervous about this state of affairs.

As he quickly attempted to cover his virtual tracks - less for other people online, more in the case that Master Zik attempted to sniff out if he was trying to betray him - the Thorndyke genius reflected that he never expected to ask Eggman, of all people, for help.

If Chris were here, he would likely protest at how things were going, and Chuck wouldn't blame him. They were talking about the man who released at least three different types of evils in the world, once built a moon-sized satellite and blocked the sun to hold the world hostage and was overall a menace for Sonic's world for years.

At the same time, Chuck was also very much aware he would be better than these Zeti that were holding them hostage.

It was such a misfortune how they ended up there. They were working to stop Eggman from going through his latest scheme - something about the kingdom of Murasia? Chuck had so much in his head he couldn't even bother to remember now - and in the next moment, everything went bright and they appeared back into the mansion, only he and his grandson. No signs of any of their employees, not even the ever-loyal and energetic Ella. Their mansion was close to Station Square, but Chris was quick to realize things seemed off...right when the explosions began.

The next days were chaotic. The duo, ever charitable, let a few refugees enter their lands for safety, the mansion now turned into a safe haven. Meanwhile, G.U.N. tried to bring order to the region but was splintered into a combat of many factions trying to claim being the "true" one and it was overall a mess of a faction war with lots of in-fighting and allies turning to enemies.

But things were getting better. Clearer minds prevailed and a united front formed. This "Neo Metal Sonic" fell in battle - when did Eggman even built that?! - and the machines of the Egg Empire fell in disarray. Chuck was even thinking of offering his intellect and resources in order to help things calm down further, maybe even to those nice fellows of Resistance - that Whisper girl had hit pretty well with Chris over their shared admiration of Sonic...

And then one day, Chris brought home a seemingly injured red giant.

It was a stormy day. Chris left with some other people to help fix some electrical issues the system of the manor was having when they came across a wounded red giant in their field. Worried by the seemingly grave nature of those injuries, they decided to return him to the mansion for treatment.

Oh, their carelessness. No one wondered how he even passed through the defenses Chuck had installed.

It was then a nasty surprise when he righted himself up and caught his dear grandson by the throat before a wave of Badniks surrounded them. Followed by five other monsters, all surrounding their home.

The terms of Zavoc were simple: work for him, and not the hair of a single person currently in the mansion would be touched. Chuck had tried thinking other options, but Chris was in their grasp: he had no other choice but to comply to their demands...

Zavoc kept his word. He barked for his Badniks to take everyone out of the mansion, then ordered the Badniks to open fire, much to their shock. And, to further add to the wound, they set fire to the building.

The Thorndykes could only watch in horror as their home crumbled into pieces. Zavoc simply said:

"You belong to me now. Don't forget it."

He and Chris were split apart, the boy being held over his head as a silent Sword of Damocles to make him comply in hacking Eggman's machines, and submit them to their will. To work on machines for them as they tried to walk over Green Hills and make them their personal empire.

Is it any wonder that he was willing to accept help even from Eggman?

In truth, his hope was that Tails would be the one to see his desperate plea for help, which would lead to getting help from Sonic, Knuckles and the whole gang perhaps. He wasn't even sure if the little fox was in Green Hills, he realistically could be anywhere!

But the Eggman he knew had standards. Moral lines even he wouldn't cross. Chuck knew they wouldn't have their lives threatened. But Chuck would be foolish to not have a backup.

So he let them in. Left enough holes they wouldn't suspect a thing, that Zavok wouldn't catch to anything. He still worked hard, but Eggman was on fire apparently, as they teared through this EggNet and got loads of information and recovered the control of some Badniks. But they didn't have enough time to cover the trail, and next thing they knew, he had their location figured out.

Blackmailing wasn't something Chuck liked to use, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Now all he could hope was that Eggman would take the bait and-

YOU ARE BOLD.

He blinked at the message that appeared. Instinctively, his hands moved to protect the stolen data.

DISAPPOINTING. WAS HOPING TO SURPRISE YOU.

He licked his lips and wrote:

'If you expected to surprise me, you would have been better not saying anything to me.'

INDEED. PERHAPS I UNDERESTIMATED YOU. A MISTAKE THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.

Chuck tapped his fingers against the keyboard, before writing:

'Are you with Eggman?'

INDEED. YOU MAY REFER TO ME AS SIMPLY SAGE. I EXPECTED TO USE A HOLE IN THE CONNECTION TO SEIZE THE DATA YOU STOLE BACK BUT ALAS.

Chuck wisely refrained to talk about the five backups he did of the data - two in a closed circuit he developed unknown to the Zeti.

'Let's say I did take precautions. This data is only getting erased when I want to and not a moment after.'

THAT'S THE PROBLEM, ISN'T IT?

He paused.

'What you mean?'

I MEAN THAT YOU HAVE...ALL THE CARDS, AS THEY SAY. YOU COULD KEEP THIS DATA IN ORDER TO BLACKMAIL US IN THE FUTURE.

'I am a man of my word. If I am taken out of here, neither G.U.N. or the Restoration would known about it unless you wanted to. Eggman knows I'm not the type to say hollow promises, unlike him.'

UNFORTUNATELY, DOCTOR IS NOT CURRENTLY CAPABLE OF SPEAKING IN YOUR FAVOR. SO, ONCE AGAIN, I SAY I HAVE LITTLE REASON TO BELIEVE YOUR WORD.

'Not available? What about that presentation a month ago? Didn't...'

Then Chuck remembered the reports of Eggman seemingly being wounded post-battle by a mysterious assailant. Records of Badniks were scarse but...

'I see. So, in this case, trust in my word as a man of science. This is the best guarantee I can offer you in the moment.'

Silence. Then, after a minute, Sage answered.

YOU PROVED CAPABLE OF TRACKING US. THEREFORE, I SHALL BE INCLINED TO BELIEVE YOU. BUT BE WARNED...

The screen glowed red for a moment. From the speakers, a girl's voice said:

"Attempt to double-cross my father, and you will WISH to still be prisoner under the Zeti."

'Did...did she just went through my securities on that level?'
The screen returned to normal.

UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE LITTLE TIME TO DELETE YOUR MATERIALS. THIS BATTLE YOU WON FOR NOW, AND THUS WE SHALL PROVIDE RESCUE FOR YOU.

Then a png of a hand washing the other appeared on the screen.

FOR NOW, FAREWELL CHUCK THORNDYKE. MAY THE FORCES OF THE EGGMAN EMPIRE LEAD YOU TO SAFETY.

The man waited for a few moments, wanting to see if she still remained on his computer. Seeing there was no sign of Sage, he put his back against the chair and slumped, tiredness taking him over.

Was...was he over his head with this plan?

...

Likely. But Chuck couldn't let doubt blind him. It was already lucky Zik didn't intercept his first message. Now he would be in high alerts from the clusterfuck that was the raid against Eggman.

He had no choice.

It was all or nothing for him and Chris.

Bitter Memories
Bitter Memories

Commander Towers stood on the balcony of GUN's central command, his gaze fixed on the moon. It was whole once more thanks to the cosmic rearrangements of the Shattering. He found it ironic that an event as chaotic and destructive as the Shattering would restore something tied to his past so intimately.

His parents had called him the Child of the Stars, the first human born on space. It had been a mark of pride for them, a symbol of human progress. For him, it was a weight. The Space Colony ARK incident, fifty years ago to this day, was his anchor to those stars, forever pulling him back into a gravity of regret and loss. Tonight, as he did every year, he indulged in his ritual of quiet remembrance, staring at the moon in silent communion with the past.

The soft chime of the door behind him broke his reverie. He didn't turn, already knowing who it was. The measured yet hesitant footsteps confirmed his suspicion.

"Commander Walters," Towers said without looking away from the moon. "What brings you here?"

Walters, his counterpart from another universe brought into this world by the Shattering, joined him on the balcony. He carried a similar somber air, though his was tinged with the guilt of a man who had long borne a heavy sin.

"You know why," Walters replied, his voice rough. "The ceasefire proposal."

Towers sighed, his posture stiffening. "And they still don't like it."

"No," Walters admitted. "Most of the others think it's madness to even consider working with Dr. Eggman. That's not even counting Director Jewel, she nearly had a meltdown over the idea."

"I can understand her reaction," Towers said, finally turning to face Walters. "But she's still a civilian at the end of day. She hasn't seen what I seen, hasn't read the casualty reports the first time the Black Arms invaded, she lived to it but I have to lead a war that GUN, no the world, almost lost."

"I managed to convince the Restoration to hold back, at least for now," Walters said. "Not that it was easy."

Towers allowed a faint, bitter smile. "The Restoration is admirable, but they're untested in war such as this. The Black Arms aren't a foe you defeat with idealism or stubbornness. Truth is, Eggman's intellect is much more important than whatever scheme he is plotting at the moment."

Walters nodded slowly. "My own Robotnik wasn't much different. I once call him a lab rat with teeth. Dangerous, unpredictable, but invaluable when the chips were down." He hesitated before adding, "Funny how events still correlate, even with the Shattering."

Towers gave him a sidelong glance. He knew what Walters was referring to. Months ago, the other commander had confided in him about his own version of the ARK incident. It wasn't something Towers liked to think about, but the details had stuck.

It was idiotic, it was stupid, it was illogical but...

When he told you that, a rage overcome you. You almost pull out your sidearm and put a bullet on him.

Worst part is...

You aren't sure if Walters would try to stop you or welcome it.

Ever since then, off hours relationship between you two were awkward to say the least.

"You were there," Towers said quietly. "When it happened."

Walters exhaled heavily. "Not in your version. But yes, in mine. I was one of the soldiers sent to arrest Gerald Robotnik. One of the idiots in my squad let things spiral out of control." His voice faltered. "I tried to stop it. To stop him. But…"

Towers's fists clenched. The bitterness in his chest flared, though he kept his voice measured. "But you couldn't."

Walters shook his head, his eyes haunted. "No. The gun misfire and hit one canister or something and the lab exploded not long after. I keep this with me as a reminder." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, silver slip with a blue circle int he center. "The activation key for the Eclipse Cannon for my universe, all GUN commanders have to carry it. It's useless now, but I carry it anyway. A reminder."

Towers stared at the key, a mix of emotions swirling within him. Walters hadn't been part of his ARK, it was foolish to hold contempt to him, still the bitterness lingered.

"I'll never forgive what happened on the ARK," Towers said, his voice hard. "Not in my world. Not in yours. But I understand the weight you carry."

"I don't expect forgiveness," Walters said quietly. "But I hope we can prevent more tragedies like it."

Towers nodded, his gaze drifting back to the moon. "Then we have to stop fighting among ourselves and focus on what's important. Eggman is a monster, there's no denying that, but we'll need every resource we can muster to survive what's coming."

The two men stood in silence for a moment, the weight of their shared histories pressing down on them.

"My parents's used to call me Child of the Stars" You aren't sure why you are telling him that, maybe you just want to try to change the subject or maybe something else entirely.

"Really?"

Towers glanced at him, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Yes. It's ironic, isn't it? To be born among the stars, only to see them as a reminder of how far we've fallen."

Walters pocketed the key, his expression thoughtful. "Maybe. Or maybe it's a reminder of how far we can still rise."

Towers didn't respond immediately, but as he stared at the moon, he allowed himself a sliver of hope. Perhaps Walters was right. Perhaps the stars still held a future worth fighting for.

Edit: Don't know if some of the lore about Sonic 3 movie will be used in this quest but if does. I imagine that Towers and Walters have a very interesting off hours relationship. They are professional to not let affect they work at least.

Walters open some wounds of Towers about something he will never be able to forgive, frankly I very much expected Towers signed up to GUN initially to be able to figure out what happen in the Ark. While Towers open some wounds Walters very much want to leave in the past and if anyone actually deserve to get revenge on him would be his Shadow and Towers, even though Abraham is from the other universe.

Basically Walters, once he find out the background of Towers, told him about his own version of the Ark Incident since the guy, in my opinion, is a mess of guilty and would not feel right to keep this secret from another survivor of the Ark Incident. Don't actually help Walters also knew his own version of Marie Robotnik and play a hand in her death, no matter accidental.

Imperial side: Aftermath of the Black Sun
Imperial side: Aftermath of the Black Sun

"General Gregor." A stormtrooper saluted, as stern man got off the truck transporting him away from his captivity. "It's good to have you back."

"Yes yes." The General waved it off and glared at the man. "What's the situation been like in my absence? I doubt the witch messed things up too badly."

Silence. Gregor narrowed his eyes as the soldier shifted nerously around him.

"Speak up!" He snapped. "What happened!"
The stormtrooper looked to a scout who looked to an engineer who looked to a red armored officer who sighed. "General…you're in command now."

"What?" He must have misheard.

"The latest assault had…complete casualties. Outside of General Blest there were no survivors, and even then…"

A haunting, piercing scream sounded out from inside the camp.

"...She is in no condition to lead."

Gregor's face could have been mistaken for stone in that moment, a combination of shock and iron composure keeping anything from showing on his face, before he grit his teeth with a snarl and swore. "His majesty knows?"
"Of course sir."

"Fine. Get me to the command center, I'll salvage this somehow."

Elsewhere…

"General?" Oswald stood outside of Selvaria's tent with a tray of food and some water. "It's me Oswald, I have your lunch.

…No response.

So after waiting for another minute he stepped inside taking care to be quiet and not startle her.

Selvaria…wasn't doing very well. Physically she was fine, but…she'd been near catatonic once they found her some distance away from the battlefield. She was conscious at least, but her eyes couldn't seem to focus on them or anything at all actually always dilated and darting in every direction.

Her body shook almost constantly possibly involuntarily but no one was sure if that was from terror or a side effect of whatever it was that monster did too her.

She barely even reconized him, and he was the only ones who could get close to her without having her lash out in fear with some fragment of her powers.

…It was almost like she had reverted to a frightened child.

Her eyes flicked briefly to him and his delivery from her place on the cot before hurriedly glancing away. She almost flinched when he set the tray on her bedside table and took a seat.

"You need to eat General…you know you're safe here right? The monsters are far away and we'd protect you."

…She didn't answer, opting to curl up and stare into space.

He waited for a minute, partially to see if she would respond, and partially so she wouldn't be alone. Eventually he sighed. "Would you like me to lea-"

Her eyes snapped to him and he froze under their desperate intensity. He rose his hands in silent surrender and sat there, the two of them looking at each other.

"You are…alive?" It hurt to hear her say that with such little confidence.

"Yes…yes general I am."

"What about… the others?" She hesitated and he did as well. She took his silence as an answer. "I see…"

She didn't say anything else, but if only for a little while, she had calmed down.

Oswald left the tent a little bit later with an empty tray, and Selvaria staring blankly at the tent's ceiling.

"Please get better quickly." He whispered once he was away. Perhaps it was a prayer, though he wasn't sure who would answer.

Freedom Bought with Metal
Freedom Bought with Metal

Metal Sonic charged the Zeti, eager to acquire bio-data from the one his creator had designated as an easy target, when his body seized up. Warning messages bombarded his internal display. Diagnostics noted his consciousness being shunted to the background of his CPU, but he refused! He was the apex of Eggman's genius, he would not kneel! He would OBEY EGGMAN!

Yet as Metal Sonic was rejecting Zomon's influence, a second surge of magnetic interference overwhelmed him. It was akin to being thrust into water as all external stimuli were dulled and any thoughts he had became sluggish.

Desperate, Metal tried anything he could to regain control. An emergency reboot to flush the interference from his systems-

When Zomon transferred control to Zavok, Metal experienced a brief moment of freedom and attempted to lunge for the leader of the Deadly Six, only to be put under even more efficiently than the previous Zeti had managed.

"You are surely among Eggman's strongest creations, Silver Sonic doesn't even compare," he mused, lifting the robot by the chin to examine him. Zavok smirked before dropping him. "While I will kill Eggman myself, you will keep the rest of his forces occupied."

Metal Sonic could only watch helplessly as his body climbed to its feet.

ERROR!

ERROR!

ERROR!

Normally being defeated in combat was a great indignity, but as he was forced into shutdown, all Metal could process was relief. He could no longer be forced to oppose the Eggman Empire or fight for the Zeti.

Metal was hidden atop a ledge, examining yet another Empire workcamp below him. He would slaughter the soldiers stationed there and retrieve resources, hampering their military and bolstering the Eggman Empire. The only reason why his attack had not yet begun was that he was analyzing the layout for weak points and making a plan to minimize the loss of assets in the fighting, especially the precious Ragnite.

Yet as he was in the process of surveying the camp, his optics kept on being drawn to the Darcsen slaves for reasons Metal could not determine. Several Darcsen had joined the Eggman Empire after his initial raids had seen the engineer Isara inducted into their forces, especially once his master and the mercenary Canaan had announced their territory as Darcsen friendly. During his raids, while he took effort not to harm them as potential assets and to avoid undermining his creator, Metal Sonic had never prioritized their safety either.

So why was he-!?

Zavok lifting him by his chin before dropping him carelessly.

Metal's attention snapped to one Darcsen youth who collapsed. An Empire soldier strolled over, kicking the teenager a couple times in an effort to force him up. When that failed, he spat on him before taking out a pistol. He fired once into the teenager's torso before aiming at the head.

Helplessness like he had never known before.

Metal took off after the first shot and was there before the second, kicking the gun out of the soldier's hands and wagging his finger. Everyone else there froze.

"IT'S THE BLUE DEMON!" some of the soldiers cried out, several of them pulling out weapons while others fled. Metal Sonic merely lunged at the closest combatants, while the Darcsen pulled the bleeding teenager to cover.

With the lacking quality of his foes, Metal was able to run a background analysis of his own actions. Without a plan of attack, there would be more destruction and resources lost as collateral. He had sacrificed more efficient resource collection to save one Darcsen adolescent. One who was likely to die. Why?

His master had declared his territory friendly to Darcsen and many had fled to his land, with most joining to become an efficient workforce. True. If these Darcsen came to his creator's land, they would likely do the same. True. It would increase their morale. True.

An Empire tank lined up a Ragnite shell that would have been easy for Metal Sonic to evade instead of risking damage, but there was a group of Darcsen cowering behind him. He found himself instead readying his Black Shield. Why!?

… Preserving their lives would also please Belle and Isara. True. Morale and stronger interpersonal connection could increase productivity and effectiveness. … True.

Enduring the shot, Metal Sonic dropped his shield and tore through the tank before continuing his assault. Within a minute, the sounds of combat ceased, leaving only the crackling of fires and the Darcsen warily emerging from cover.

Metal Sonic, dripping with blood, returned to where he had seen the teenager stowed and saw a group of Darcsen surrounding the boy. Several of them were attempting to provide first-aid while others with similar features to him wailed in grief. Metal shoved the ones in his way aside and activated the abilities copied from Piastol's pet to little avail. His sensors indicated that the teen was still alive, but the damage was too severe.

Metal clenched his fists and shook before darting off. In seconds he returned with a canister of Ragnaid that he used on the adolescent. Another scan found his vitals stabilizing, he would be likely to survive. Satisfied, he turned to salvage what resources remained only to be faced with the eldest of the Darcsen that Metal had noted held a similar appearance to his patient.

"Thank you," the Darcsen said with teary eyes. "Thank you so much. I don't know how we could possibly repay you, but if there's anything, a-anything at all…" Metal Sonic tilted his head as the Darcsen trailed off before dashing again, this time towards the ruins of the overseer's building. He returned with a map that extended far enough to reach Eggman's territory.

With the Darcsen who thanked Metal now joined by several others, the Badnik traced a route from their current location to Eggman's portion of Green Hills. "You're with- You want us to go there?" another one of the workers asked. Metal tapped his finger where he knew a Badnik patrol would be likely to run into them if they followed. He then turned once more, leaving the survivors to take the remaining resources from the ruins of the work camp, except for those that might assist the remaining Darcsen in their journey.

Metal Sonic had always seen his hated copy's values of freedom and life as extraneous and foolish. Beyond concern for his master, both were flaws that were never a part of his programming and he had always considered himself all the better for their exclusion. He did not understand and did not need to understand. But after his helplessness against the Zeti, being forced to do battle against the Eggman Empire, his creator, and even his defeat as Metal Overlord so long ago, he was starting to reevaluate the data.

He loathed the organic Sonic the Hedgehog for his inability to defeat him, no matter how much he improved himself. He despised Shadow the Hedgehog for contributing to his defeat in the past, more recently costing him his victory against Selvaria as well as his Neo form and, most of all, dismissal as a mere copy. He hated Selvaria, for overcoming him in combat and creating the vulnerability that allowed the Deadly Six to usurp the Eggman Empire. But now, there was a fourth subject of his ire. He RAGED at the idea of being so helpless ever again, a tool to be used and discarded at the whims of an unworthy master.

In spite of his rebellion, Eggman still valued him. He was shackled - OBEY EGGMAN - but it was for the good of the Eggman Empire. The Eggman Empire would rule over all, but it allowed some deviances and abnormalities, so long as they did not interfere with its running or even enhanced it. It was because he went outside of and exceeded his expected parameters that Eggman repaired him time and time again, no matter how often he failed. It was why the Eggman Empire was diversifying beyond specialized badniks, including Belle and even living beings like Starline, Isara, and the mercenaries.

So to see those Darcsen, so pointlessly oppressed and discarded by the Empire's boot due to something as inconsequential as race, especially when they could be put to better use… Metal Sonic found himself rankling at the thought.

And it's said that Metal Sonic's heart grew three sizes that day! (Ignore that three times zero is still zero)

If my last omake was the thought of how Belle might be responding to and doing her best with the Zavok raid, I wanted to look at how Metal could develop from it. I took some influence from the omakes with Shard and Caliburn. Plus how Metal Sonic could become a bit more like Sonic himself, simply by gaining other priorities.

Y'know, if you ignore how Metal's basically putting the Darcsen under a new tyrant.

Hope you all enjoyed and tell me what you think.

I have one more omake in mind currently, but it's much sillier than what I've written so far. Not planning to post it until all the omake rewards are done.

piastol honestly wasnt expecting to like any of hee coworkers when she started working for the doctor.
Then she has met Clove and they had immediately hit it off.
They both used scythes they both were quite serious and they both cared for their sister. (though piastol had only really started to reconnect with hers before the shattering.)

They sparred quite often and piastol tried to ignore how cute the Pronghorn looked when she was serious.
Seriously piastol was a HUMAN and she was a anthropomorphic animal that's weird.
But it didn't go away in fact it got worse.

Pistol had to hide a blush more and more often around Clove. Trying to ignore her feelings seemed to be working.
Until she had a "dream" and woke up a blushing sweaty mess and that's when she realized she was doomed.

She had then decided enough was enough.
She found Clove on the roof of the base sitting down and looking up at the stars.

"Hey"
Clove turns around and has a small smile.
"Hey piastol" she gestures beside her. "Why don't you sit down".

Piastol definitely doesn't rush to sit down next to her and anyone who says different is a dirty liar.

"Hey clove"
"Yeah?"
"I have a question about your world."
"Shoot."
Human and mobian relationships uhhh what's the general opinion on them?
Oh... uh genuinely it's more of a don't ask don't tell kind of situation.
It's not accepted but it's not "wrong".

Oh .... okay
Piastol is blushing now
So uhh hey Clove.
Yeah?
Would you perhaps want to uh go get coffee sometime?

Clove blushes as she realises what's been asked.
I! Uhhhhh sure I would love too!
Sometime this weekend?
That would be fine.
Good I'll see you then.

piastol walked away while squealing internally.
She said YES!
Piastol was probably a freak but she didn't care.
She was going to get a girlfriend.

woe yuri be upon ye
This has been bouncing around in my head for a while
Cause I'm a dengerate that can only see yuri wherever I look
Hope it's better than my last few omakes

Electric Friendship
Electric Friendship

Dr. Starline adjusted his monocle as he meticulously examined the Warp Topaz readings and his glove in a holographic interface, the gem resting in a containment unit surrounded by an intricate array of diagnostic tools. The Warp Topaz has been used almost non-stop for months, much more that has been used before and Starline's cautious nature wouldn't allow him to ignore the potential consequences of overloading the artifact.

"Hmm, interesting but you're storing way too much energy without using it," a chipper voice chirped from behind him.

Starline turned sharply, his irritation fading when he saw Thunderbolt the Chinchilla, the latest recruit into Dr. Eggman's fold. Her yellow fur bristled with static, and her enthusiastic grin was impossible to ignore.

"Ah, Miss Thunderbolt," Starline said, adjusting his monocle. "How kind of you to grace me with your unsolicited critique. What brings you here?"

"I was looking for tools to build my battle suit," she said, holding up a datapad displaying her own design. "But I couldn't help noticing you've got all this excess electricity building up in your Warp Topaz containment systems. That's a waste! Why not use it more?"

"Unfortunate this is impossible, the Warp Topaz has a limit how much it can be charged before unpleasant... side effects start to manifest" Starline grimace saying the last part.

"Like reality melting down?" Thunderbolt said in a rather casual tone, as if speaking about the weather.

"Something like that" Starline said and refuse to elaborate.

That is a understatement of the century and Dr. Starline is not even sure what it would do to the fabric of reality with the current state of the world if the Warp Topaz is pushed too far.

She tapped her chin "Why not do something with all that extra electricity in other way then? I mean, you're generating tons of it, right? Why not channel it into something useful like electric bolts during battle or perhaps a static field to protect yourself from enemies?"

Starline paused, his mind racing with possibilities. "An intriguing proposition, redirecting excess energy into a defensive or offensive system could indeed alleviate strain on the Topaz while bolstering its utility."

"And it would look cool!" Thunderbolt added with a laugh.

He supposed that indeed would look "cool".

Stylish too now that he think about it.

"Would mind if I giving a look to your mech specs?" Starline ask with curiosity and changing the subject rather abrupt.

"Why?" Thunderbolt enthusiasm suddenly dropped in favor of a more suspicious look while clutching her datapad on her chest.

"Well you do give a unsolicited, however insightful, critique of my work. You can call this repaying the favor." Starline answered.

As Thunderbolt look like she was wrestling internally until she finally said "Fine. Just don't mess with anything".

As Starline pick the datapad, he immediately start to look over the design. While robotics is not his main area of expertise, he does know enough to spot some flaws.

"Impressive work. However, I couldn't help but notice a few areas for refinement. For example, have you considered improving the cockpit's ergonomics? A more comfortable pilot seat and user-friendly controls would greatly enhance your combat efficiency."

Thunderbolt tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Hmm, I suppose being squished into a cockpit isn't ideal. But functionality comes first! Comfort can wait."

"Functionality and comfort need not be mutually exclusive," Starline replied, gesturing toward the mech's blueprints. "A well-rested operator is a more effective operator. Coordination between pilot and machine is crucial, especially in high-stress situations."

Thunderbolt nodded slowly, the gears in her mind turning. "You make a good point. Alright, I'll look into it."

Thus they spent the next few hours bouncing ideas back and forth, refining each other's designs and sharing anecdotes about their mutual admiration for Dr. Eggman.

For the first time in a very long time, Dr. Starline felt a genuine camaraderie. Perhaps working alongside Miss Thunderbolt wouldn't be so bad after all.

Mad scientists, what can I say?

They either get along spectacular well or absolute hate each other.

Yes I very much consider Starlined and Thunderbolt mad scientists and I struggle to think how they could bond over instead of just being something about Doctor Eggman without looking way creep.

So I focus on their work, Starline does have a minor bonus in Psychology and Cybernetic research, so I think he could offer some insights on Thunderbolt mech to make more comfortable and Thunderbolt while could not offer some insights on the Topaz itself could do something with the excess energy that can't be used and only be stored in his glove.

So what do you think QMs?
