So, your uncle Eva's had a pretty rough time of it for the past few weeks.

First, dad got sick as a dog for a weekend bad enough to scare the shit out of me, so we took him to the hospital. That was over a week ago, and he's still in there. Good news is, he mostly seems to have come past his illness, but now he has to go through physical therapy before he can actually come home, and we don't know yet how long that's going to take.

Then my main vehicle somehow jumped a tooth on its timing chain (or so I've been told), so it won't even start; it has to go into the shop for repairs.

So I resort to using my backup vehicle, and the breaks go out on it. Sure, I manage to get home in one piece, but no way in hell is it even remotely safe to take on the road until that gets fixed.

So then I have to use my dad's truck, and I wind up in a freaking car accident. I wasn't hurt, and the truck is still perfectly drivable, but for fuck's sake if it weren't for shitty luck, I wouldn't have any at all.

I disclose all of this not as a series of 'excuses' for why the update isn't done yet, but as an explanation, and as an attempt to keep my audience informed. (because if it were me, I'd hate being left in the dark too)

The world is not all gloom and doom, however, because I do have some good news to share.

First! The update is actually very close to being complete, and I expect to have it up in the next 20 minutes or so.

Second! This quest started back in December of 2014, at the start of the school year which was later interrupted by the events of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders, and we still are only about halfway through the first segment of our version of Rosario and Vampire. So even if we're twenty-six days late in swearing this oath, let's make it a New Year's Resolution -- that by the end of 2018, we turn the page on this part of our story, and with new energy begin the next! (and incidentally, we'll be starting a new thread at that time)

Third! ...........I got nuthin'.

Update 133 - Showdown with the Wendigo
"Even if it means this'll take longer," Tsurara mutters, "we should stick together. If we split up, it'll give him a chance to pick us off one at a time."

You thought that was obvious, so you didn't see any need to comment. Continuing on from that... "Is there a reason to maintain access to whatever tunnels we aren't checking?"

Tsurara considers that for a moment, before smiling. You might've called the image 'chilling', if you weren't already freezing your ass off.

"No." Aaaand five tunnels apiece are now sealed with a meter-thick wall of ice. "If he's really desperate to move around," she says, "then that isn't going to hold him."

Of course not. You wouldn't expect it to hold Mizore's old man, and if Terada's similarly strong, then you imagine that he could break through it as well. You'd almost prefer if he broke through it, in fact, because the racket would tell you that you can go ahead and leave the tunnel you're working in now.

As the two of you go into the first tunnel, you keep a steady current of Ripple running through your body, casting a brilliant golden light upon your surroundings. You have to admit, it's a little eerie not to cast a shadow -- how can you, when you're one of the primary sources of illumination?

The cavern's a bit bland, as should probably be expected. Ice and snow, and snow and ice, and darkness at the edge of your Hamon glow.

Periodically, you see dark patches in among that snow and ice, which you assume to be places where the wintery trappings are thin and you can see through to the rock beneath.

After several seconds, however, the ground beneath your foot gives. Beneath the crunch of the snow, there appears to be something soft. "What the?"

Stopping to investigate, you take a second to dig whatever it is from beneath the snow to find -- a fabric doll?

Sure enough, there was a fabric doll buried a little beneath the snow, where you wouldn't be able to see it.

You suddenly get a bad feeling about those dark patches you've been seeing. You hope you're wrong, but there's only one way to be sure.

With Tsurara's help and a little digging, you find exactly what you feared you would -- a human skeleton.

"This skeleton... is consistent with a young girl," notes a horrified Tsurara.

You... really aren't sure what you're feeling right now. But there is one observation you can make immediately, that makes it even worse. Letting out a deep sigh, you mutter to yourself, "Based on the size.... she would've been Yukari's age."

You close your eyes, and before you can even try to stop it, your subconscious mind is already forcing you to imagine scenarios in which this skeleton is Yukari's. Sure, she's annoying as hell sometimes and often displays troubling, unchildlike behavior... but still, these remains could've belonged to one of your friends.

A chill goes up your spine as you can't help but imagine the possibility.

The bones, every last one of them, are picked completely clean. On them are bite marks.

And as far as the two of you can tell, they're fresh; Tsurara believes the carnage can't be more than a week old.

You have your suspicions about this tunnel, but... you have to know.

"We should check the others."

Well, it seems like Tsurara's on the same page, at least.

After several minutes, you uncover over two dozen more corpses, every one of them completely stripped of flesh until nothing but bone remains.

Excepting a lone adult, every last one is estimated to be about the same age as the first.

So many children....

"Heavens," Tsurara sobs, "it's an entire class! They must've been coming back from a school trip...!"

"When Mizore and I got here," you say as much to consolidate your thoughts as to communicate them, "it started snowing, and rapidly got worse. If he can manipulate the weather like a Snow Woman can, and create snowtorms...."

Then he probably saw their bus coming, and caused a freak snow storm severe enough that they'd had to stop, offered them shelter like he tried to do with you, and....

If you hold your breath, you feel like you can almost hear the screams, can almost feel their terror as they were murdered and.... and....!

And even now, you can smell that son of a bitch's putrid breath in this tunnel! You can feel his mocking grin, like he thinks he's fucking won!

Your whole being filled with anger, you stand up and turn to face Yuuda Terada in his monstrous form!

From within the Wendigo's body, a demon emerges -- more foul and contemptible a creature than you've ever imagined! Thin and gangly, with arms and legs each two meters long! Its skin is a bizarre mottling of pitch black and a sickly neon green, and two horns jut straight out from its head; for so disgusting a creature as your enemy, you can easily believe that his soul would manifest in such a way!

Yes, you're positive that this can only be [The Abyss], Terada's Stand!

As The Abyss lunges toward you, its claws grasping, the only thing you know with absolute certainty is that you're going to kill the bastard standing in front of you.
For what cause?
[]"You'll pay for what you've done..." His crimes have gone unseen and unpunished for too long! You and Tsurara are the only ones who can mete out justice!
[]"The world is better off without you in it!" Even if it's just one dead son of a bitch at a time, you want to make the world a better place.

[] Do not let him try mindgames on you - do not enter this fight with a mindset that would make you easily provoked. Instead, do this coolly and smartly - he will definitely die, but he won't get to use that trick of his.

This a workable vote?

*laptop battery dies 5 minutes later, has to drive home to charge it, and then drive back into town to get wifi to post again*

This is why deadlines are my natural enemy.

*pause*

This is why deadlines and the RNG are my natural enemy/ies.

Nope, you're already emotionally compromised to hell and back.

The good news is that it doesn't matter, as you will see in the next update.

In a world of monsters, stand users, vampires and things that are a mixture of any number of them, the only ones who can deal out some justice here is us!

And I say we let this monster have it the only way Jotaro knows how.

Alright then, here we go - time to actually kill this guy.

Except for Bound Stands, Stands can only be seen by Stand users. If Jotaro can see [The Abyss] so clearly, then [Star Platinum] must finally be ready to manifest.

There's a very fine line between Justice and Revenge. But seeking to make the world a better place... yes, that's something Jonathan could approve of.

He's dead either way, so the punk of noble lineage may as well go for a noble reason.

It's how we've played him every other time.
