Plumes of flame rise from the diabolical monster's form and coalesce into a sphere above his head...!
Targeting/focus: Critical!
"Enemies of order... AS IF I'D LET YOU LEAVE HERE ALIVE!"
Hateful gaze locked squarely onto Tsukune, Kuyo rears back to launch his attack --
Attack: fail!
ORRAAAAA!!!!!
--only for Jotaro to exploit the momentary gap in attention by throwing a desperate Zoom Punch to Kuyo's vulpine face, smashing his concentration and destroying his focus!
???HAZARD: 2!
A malevolent roar tears out from Kuyo's maw as the fireball
explodes above him, launching fiery carnage across the entire courtyard and turning it into a deadly inferno!
???DEFENSE: 4!
Mizore struggles to produce a protective ice wall in front of the group, but in her wounded state can only manage a half-formed lattice that barely withstands a third of the oncoming flame before it crumbles and melts.
Fortunately, it holds just long enough for Kurumu and Moka to grab their wounded friends and pull them away while Yukari tries to summon a gust of wind she can use to redirect the flames.
Unfortunately, a gob of boiling-hot water splashes onto Yukari's face before she can complete the spell; as she falls screaming onto her back, another stream of fire trails through the air towards her...
???INTERVENTION: 5
Kurumu and Moka didn't immediately notice what was happening, turned away as they were -- but, tears streaming down his face, Tsukune
did. "I'm sick of watching my friends get hurt protecting me!"
As steady as ever, the inexorable pull of gravity yet remains supreme...
"Tsukune?!"
"No, you can't--!"
Using the element of surprise, he broke free of Kurumu's gentle grasp -- kept feather-light for fear of accidentally hurting him with her monstrous strength -- and ran in front of Yukari to shield her from the blast!
A scream of agony cuts through the roaring flames --
Clenching her teeth, Mizore flash-froze her own injuries as she crawled to her feet. "Put your blood in him, Moka!
Now!"
Without a second thought, the vampire girl sunk her fangs into her first friend for the umpteenth time -- but this time in desperate hopes of feeding his life, instead of
on it. "I'm begging you, Tsukune -- please don't die on me!"
As the charred, shivering boy in her hands attempts to raise a hand and brush away her tears, the gem in Moka's rosary seal
cracks.

Staring down at the carnage from a third-story window, Ginei Morioka grit his teeth and impotently slammed a fist against the library wall. "Dammit... DAMMIT, DAMMIT,
DAMMIT! I
told those girls to butt out and not to pick a fight with the SPC!"
Even now, he could feel a girl's disappointed gaze on his back.
"San-senpai, don't... don't look at me like that! None of us were ever as strong as you were!"
The library, of course, was empty. No one answered his outburst, even as he imagined a frail slip of a girl turning over a new page in her sketchbook to admonish him with.
"And almost as soon as you graduated," he continued, unwilling to let the phantom memory interrupt him, "that
bastard saw fit to rub it in our faces...!"
Over a year and a half later, he still hadn't been able to purge the smell of
cooked meat that had once been his clubmates... even trying to bury himself in his baser instincts hadn't really been enough to drown it out.
"If it were a
natural full moon, then I might not be helpless... but as it is, he's
invincible! Stands just can't do anything against him
[In The Flesh]!"
The memory of his graduated senpai smiled sadly at him, like he were
just on the cusp of coming up with the right answer but then throwing a fit out of frustration at the last second.
[You're smarter than this, Ginei. You don't need me to tell you what to do...]
Eyes wide with panic, Gin ran to catch the memory before it faded, to try and hold onto it --
"No, you're wrong about me! If at any point I'd
known for myself what to do, then none of this would've happened!"
-- but his hands clutched onto nothing but empty air.
[]You tried to keep your underclassmen happy and safe in ignorance, and that's failed catastrophically. The best you can do now is to get your underclassmen, or whatever's left of them, out of harm's way.
[]There's no running or hiding from Kuyo... he's just too powerful. The best you can do now is beg for mercy on their behalf -- even if they all turn their backs on you, at least most of them will still be alive.
[]Fuck it, you've had enough of living like a beaten dog! For what Kuyo's done to you not once but twice, you're gonna rip out his throat even if it kills you!

Kept you waiting, huh?
