Renascence: A Homura Quest

Honorifics or Western-style Titles? I've used both before, which is bothersomely inconsistent

Good night. It's 5 am here. Will answer any other questions you have on the morrow.

Just going to confirm this for Renascence Canon:

Most Magi (including Homura) can heal. Specialists are just magnitudes better at it than others.
Regenerating tissue is easier than fighting sickness right? and something like healing our heart from the illness needs to be really precise and you have to know what you are doing right?

Actually, now that you think about it, that looks a lot like...

You grab Kyouko, dragging her out of the blast radius as fast as possible.

Behind you, you can hear a familiar mechanical voice speaking, "Starlight Breaker."

You turn to stare as a sudden wave of magic is pulled in by the Device...and then you hear a loud scream tearing its way out of the girl in white's throat. The large sphere of pink energy in front of her is twisting before your eyes, distorting into a vague, shadowy form. Slowly, a mask appears among those shadows...the face of a newly created familiar.
We know what Starlight Breaker is, recognized what cosplay girl was doing, and saw her pull in a wave of magic, then saw a familiar form. We know what went wrong in-character.

My guess on healing:
Healing yourself of battle damage is easy, your mind, body and soul knows what it's supposed to be like, you just restore it.
Healing yourself of disease/poison is simple for the same reasons.
Healing yourself of a genetic defect, heart problem, poor eyesight or other permanent syndrome is difficult. You can't just autopilot it away, your body recognizes it as your normal state, so you need to either make the zombie realization(and thus just ignore the defect) or know what you're doing.

Healing someone ELSE of battle damage varies.
For cuts, bruises and the like, it's not too difficult, your magic can always reference your own body to get an approximation. Not efficient though.
For critical damage, it gets harder since you don't have your magic running life support passively.
For the really complex stuff, get a healer.

Crow's plan sounds good.

[X]...Try to save the girl. It's what Madoka would want.
-[X] Time stop, Ask Kyoko if she has anything to link us, if not then just grab her hand and run there is no time to waste, rush towards the girl´s side while Kyoko takes cheap shots throwing her spears, once you get near her pull her into time stop and retreat, dont forget to take her staff with us, pull some distance between yourselves and the witch
-[X] Keep an eye on your surroundings at all times and be careful of the witch´s attacks, be ready to use Shield of Protection if something happens.
-[X] Try to analyze what went wrong and help her calm down, you of all people know just how taxing fighting witches is, does she need to be healed? can she keep fighting? see if you can get her name, you have your theories but it would be better if she confirmed it.

If Kyouko doesn't have anything, well, she keeps on calling us ribbons for a reason, right? Wouldn't be very long though, but would kind of symbolize our serious mode in a fight

Oh, hey what's ...
Oh.
Nanoha, why? You start with Divine Buster or your Shooting attack! Not SB! Bad girl! :sigh:

Anyway. So this is either OS Nanoha or A's Nanoha. If it's OS we (probably) don't have to worry about DAB coming in to kick us in the teeth if it looks like we did something to Nanoha, and if it's A's we (probably) also have to worry about the Wolkenritter. Joys. So, what to do with everyone's favorite Devil? Save her, of course! Not only would Madoka want us to, but we can probably get some Magical Theory insights from working with her. If she recovers enough to help us during the fight, we get a huge maneuverability boost, but really all we need to do is keep her from doing anything silly. So, from both a pragmatic and a moral standpoint, we stand to gain from rescuing her (which we can explain to Kyouko) ... and, if nothing else, going for a rescue puts us in range to deal with her effectively.

Problem: We still don't know anything about the Witch itself or how it fights.
Problem: We don't know what Kyouko can do; she enchanted her spear, which presumably means she's gearing for melee. She started to say something when we brought her into Time Stop, but we don't know what - presumably she had some sort of idea about hitting it using teleportation, but Time Stop probably wouldn't work for it.
Problem: Nanoha is right there in front of a Familiar, and her staff isn't to hand. She can use magic without RH, but it's not as effective. We aren't going to get to her in time without Time Stop, and explaining things to her - especially if she's somewhat incoherent or worse - may not help.

So ...
[X]...try to save the girl. It's what Madoka would want.
- (And also for other reasons.)
- [X] Time Stop, quickly explain to Kyouko that we, at least, are going to try to save her and give a brief reasoning (She can fly, at least a little, and we can learn from her), ask if she'll help. If she agrees, see if she has any means of connecting the two of you and use it, if not go it alone to bring the girl back (the Witch should be frozen as well). Make sure to retrieve the staff, try to keep the girl calm.
- - If Kyouko disagrees, move to get the girl anyway.
---- [X] Somewhere away from the Witch and Familiar, see how the girl is doing - whether she's capable of aiding us, and willing. If she can, try to get together with Kyouko to formulate a strategy. We'll probably want to take down the Familiar first, as it should be weaker than the Witch and might give us more insights into the Witch itself.

Simplifying.

[X]...try to save the girl. It's what Madoka would want.
-[X] Time Stop
--[X] Ask Kyouko if she has something to keep us connected. If so, she can keep fighting while we get the girl. Otherwise we'll be right back.
--[X] Retrieve girl+staff. Explanations can wait til we're at a safe distance.
--[X] Once at an adequate distance, drop Time Stop (unless Kyouko is fighting) and confer with girl about injuries (heal if feasible) and abilities, to coordinate our attacks.

Good idea.

So basically the same as mine?

What about being prepared for an attack? or Kyoko attacking the witch while we run?
It's explicitly noted that Kyouko can keep fighting the witch if she can manage to link with us to stay in Timestop. If she's not in Timestop then there's obviously no point in such an instruction.

I assumed being prepared for an attack is a given if we're in the middle of a fight (and not just preparing for a specific attack), though being prepared while we're actually in Timestop seems a bit overly paranoid unless we see the witch can actually act during Timestop (which I would not expect to be the case, given that it should be feasible for us to win this fight solo without weapons).

Thats why she goes along with us in the middle of timestop, we know that she has the chains but to keep the masquerade i added questioning her about it, the "grab her hand" is a fallback in case something is off with her chains or she doesnt use them for some reason, while we run Kyoko can hammer away a little of the Witch´s durability with her spears.

Stop rising defeat flags, getting too overconfident is a quick way to bad ending. Specially when there are so many variables around.
