Project Prometheus: Realm's Training Guide 1 — ThaTrueRealmWalk New

Project Prometheus: Realm's Training Guide 1

Soundtrack: N/a

Hello there! Seeing as we have heroes but we AREN'T constantly training them, Realm is going to throw a guide on what we can do to help evolve our heroes to the next level!

For Innovation Is Strength!

Lady Leizi
1) Our Dearest Lady is able to improve herself by taking in electricity, improving her fitness. Lady L will be given a standard battery, which she will train on pulling out the electricity of and to control the amount of absorption. If this is impossible, the same will be done with a device that pulls out the Electricity for her. This will also hopefully help reveal any limits. Theory: By Performing Exercise and Vigorous Activity, any Capacity issue will be dismissed by the constant need for LL's Fitness to top up her condition.

2) Once LL has a keen control over the gathering of Electricity, she will be tasked with attempting to maintain a Charged State, slowly taking power out of a battery to constantly refill her endurance and health, potentially allowing Lady LL, if this technique is mastered, to be able to enter a state of endless motion, allowing her to fight without fearing for a loss of stamina indefinitely as long as she has an electric charge with her.

2B) She will also be attempting to learn how to change the amount of power she can gather at once, allowing her to eventually respond dynamically to situations, gaining the needed stamina when needed or being able to ration if the circumstances require.

3) Give Metal Laced shoes, relying on a constant slow injection of Electricity, LL will attempt to flow electricity into the metal of the shoes, magnetizing it. If successful, phase two will be attempting to walk on metal walls, testing to see if her Fitness will help her adapt to the changed position of gravity. If successful, this could open up mobility options in the future.

Black Swan
1) Swan will lower the amount of Mass that she has until she has only two of her limbs. Swan will then attempt to use her remaining mass to "Shrink", allowing her to change into a smaller body that is capable of function normally (Like walking or grabbing things). This has the potential to allow her to don a smaller form either for espionage or… something. It has potential at least to train her ability to shape her body!

2) Black Swan will attempt to change a limb into something else, like a blade, training her ability to change her form, potentially allowing a weak version of transformation.

3) Can she take her head off and hold it in her hands? Cool costume idea!

Menagerie Witch
1) MW will attempt to lessen the amount of energy she takes from herself and her Menagerie to create a smaller version of her Nevermores. This may allow her to hide small kitten/puppy/chicks/ect inside of her clothes to deploy in dangerous situations, allowing for potential surprise attacks.

1B) Attempt to create these smol babies with more and more energy, attempting to both train her ability to mold her Constructs as well as get a better grasp of her ability to take energy.

2) Training with her moveable shadow. While she cannot take energy from Sapient beings, this test will train her in using her shadow to Detect them. This may allow, if fruitful, Witch to still be able to notice others in low vision situations. This also will help train her to maneuver her shadow as well.

2B) If the previous part is successful, MW should attempt to see if she can do more with her Shadow. For instance, can she grab hold of shadows or physical matter instead of simply taking their energy? How Physical is her Shadow? Is Shadow Riding possible? Either way this would prove good training in her manipulation of her shadow no matter what may come of this.

3) Using her constructs such as a Snake Nevermore, see if it's possible for MW to use the construct as a weapon (If she wants to). A Snake Whip may be a good close corridors option for her, and could also open up mobility depending on the strength of her creation.

Handyman
1) Handyman will be given diagrams and examples of several body parts, be it from animals or humans, and be tasked with attempting to as perfectly as possible mimic its structure. Bones, muscles, skin. This will go on for some time, with Handyman being tasked with creating the perfect replications with less and less time, slowly training him to warp his body in both more detail and more speed.

1B) Once this is well near what he can do with normal body parts, Doctor Ibis will be asked to aid in creating more and more "Refined" versions of the previous examples, for instance a rabbit's leg that is refined to have much more power without compromising its durability. Handyman will be tasked with replicating these advanced ligaments and morphs, hopefully through repetition giving him an array of known forms he can rely on.

2) Handyman will be tasked with actually learning about biology, not just mimicking it. The hope is that with learning about the operations and parts of limbs and different organs, his ability to mimic them will become more refined. These will be coupled with tests done every month to see the progress of his growth and knowledge.

2B) He will also, if allowed, attempt to learn how mechanisms such as Crossbows operate. This lack of knowledge may be the limit that stops him from being able to create refined weaponry.

3) Have Handyman attempt to replicate Plant Matter. This may allow the hero to use Vines for mobility and long range attacks, or create mimicked wood for use in weapon creation.

4) Handyman may also find it useful to be tested on how well he can replicate fictional animals. For instance, turning his body into a functional Dragon. This may allow for his creativity using his powers to improve.

Châtelet
1) Have Chatelet attempt to change the form of her barriers. While a full transformation may not be possible, it may be possible for her to twist or bend the tubes. This may allow her to Redirect Attacks or allow for better repositioning.

1B) Test if Chatelet can bend her barriers into a donut-like shape. While this is mainly for training the above ability to change the shape of her barriers, this may allow for the creation of a saw-like attack.

1C) If the barriers can be twisted, test if it's possible for her to twist her barriers into the form of a drill. While this is mainly for training the above ability to change the shape of her barriers, this may allow for the creation of a drill like attack.

2) Have Chatelet create two barriers that connect at a meeting point. This may open the possibility for a crude form of levitation for Chatelet.

2B) Given a crossbow, what happens if Chatelet fires an arrow through multiple of her barriers? To aid to this, could she quickly move her barriers from behind the like to the front to extend this chain? Potential railgun, but would also train her ability to rapidly change the location of her Barriers.

Doctor Silver
1) Educate Silver on different materials, such as armor meshes and the likes, that are created with the focus of enduring damage. During this process, Silver will attempt to shape his barriers using that knowledge to improve their durability, potentially allowing them to survive more than one attack when using less energy for his Hussle.

2) Have Doctor Silver train in using his Barriers for redirection. Have someone throw a punch at him and have him use his sixth sense to gauge how to make a slope the punch could follow along. Training to create barriers this way may allow for more versatility in his ability to defend others, allowing him to have a barrier not be destroyed when protecting someone from an attack.

3) See if Silver's sixth sense can be condensed down from the 100-Yard Radius its maximum is. If this is possible, it may allow him to more easily detect incoming attacks or to sense very minute movements on a person. Potential lie detection ability?

Valiant Gold
1) Gold will be given training on how to adapt to a situation. For instance when facing someone who can absorb energy and cannot be gotten close to, learning how to use her Blaster to launch projectiles at her enemy could be good to learn. Training for these edge cases will hopefully allow her to more easily adapt to unknown situations and deploy the right Module for the job at a moment's notice!

2) Gold may also improve from training on how to chain into different forms. For instance, using Paper to create fire that can be coated in Scissor's Psychic Blades. Or using Scissors to pull an object that could be used for a bludgeoning weapon over to Gold and using Rock to easily use the makeshift weapon. Even using Rock's Advanced Energy Shields to get in close to open for use of Paper's Blaster.

And These are some of Realm's Training Ideas! Innovation is key in a world of powers, and those who lag behind and stop trying to find new ways to improve their skill set will surely fall behind!

Now this is Trainer Realm, Signing Off!

Everytime there's a discussion about keywords there's always some information brought up that I didn't know about like the special nine keyword synergy and unchosen character profiles. Is there anyone with a list of this kind of info? I've got all the DNA profiles from the info post but it's a bit of a hassle to find info mentioned offhand.

So among the tags, I think we can reasonably guess that it is 2x Clairvoyance + Mental Manipulation + [???]. If I were to guess the last one, I would say it's between Energy Manipulation or Enhanced Senses, leaning towards the latter.
I could be wrong, but I don't think enhanced senes factor into telepathy. To my understanding enhanced senses are "traditional" senses being given greater detail or range, whereas telepathy is an alternate method of perception all together and thus, clairvoyance. The reason so many synergies have clairvoyance is because they defacto grant their users new senses.
Enhanced Strength then, isn't necessarily about it being MUSCLE, it's basically "Take this trait and it's functioning at a higher value (if Normal is 1, Enhanced Strength is 10 as an arbitrary number)
I don't think this is what Enhanced Strength is doing in battle precog. I think the sensory tags are allowing the character to gain and process new information and Enhanced Strength lets their body actually move and react to that information.

I also don't think the Enhanced tags (speed, strength, senses) alter the expression of other keywords in any way. There's no real correlation to Enhanced strength being making other powers better (in potency or in the description of the power). The only tag associated directly with making other tags stronger is Self-Enhancement. Both characters that get stronger/more powers as a fight progresses have it (Red Huntress and Man O' War). In general I think it's a really slept on tag as far as builds targeting it are concerned.

Weirdly no. The powers with it are Fast Track, Sewer Rat, and Man O' War. Sewer Rat's is based around the ability to turn the fur to being like steel, while Fast Track does somewhat follow in the vein you mentioned by having more opportunities to steal speed. Red Huntress does not have it somehow, which does also make me fairly intrigued what a build oriented around it would look like for her.

I'd say Sewer Rat fits the power better than Fast Track and you always want Daggermaw, which locks in 10/13 potency for a very Sense oriented build so far. From there it probably depends on found synergies?

If that core makes the theoretical self enhance synergy already, Miss Conception for fishing with the invis and energy manipulation double up works. Otherwise Frostbite and Adamant both add some form of defense and extra enhanced strength, but I'd probably lean Frostbite of the two in terms of useful and unique additions to the power. If the core is lacking, or frankly you want further synergy on RH's scaling I'd go Millions, Soldier, Hunch to double up Clairvoyance and Fitness, while Millions' energy absorption seems like it conceptually should work with her scaling.

Lol thanks for being patient with me when I'm just blatantly wrong. I have memory issues and the thing with having a bad memory is things you swear are obvious are just incorrect  i should've double checked the list : P

But it is weird she doesn't have it right? Every time I think I get the system, there's something like that which throws a spanner in the works.

Very nice! Thought I'm not sure all the powers work in the way you described. +1!

Sorry about that. Most of this comes from random questions I've been asked over the last 700 (!) pages.

Self-Enhancement is about making yourself stronger without changing your form (e.g. Man o' War getting stronger without visibly changing). Transformation is just that. The Red Huntress has Transformation because her body actually changed into a giant cat-thing as she scaled up.

Dw we all have these moments. It was annoying as is when I accidentally miswrote which type of E Manipulation Seraph had on my list. >_>

This is a man-up system I've cobbled together on the fly. It's a miracle you guys can have any kinds of lists lol.
I wish it was just a list lol. I'm telling you the last update seriously flipped a switch in my brain, it's like the perfect mix of logical and free associative and there are fun optimization elements too. Dynamite is seriously so cool as well.

Now may I interest you in picking the Rosemary's Baby option next turn if we have the money? Bitterman has at least hinted at the idea that its our path to being able to use bigger samples even with the cap on Spoonfulling.

Which at least implies that it might be a way to split samples' constituent parts, and thus tags and costs, for more flexibility. IE, if its a lot to take in now, imagine how much more so it'll be post that. :V

While I would love to take Rosemary's Baby, I think we don't have a lot of wiggle room on actions because we have a lot already pretty much locked in and needing to take a money making action.

This concerns me because it means the obsession might deepen… but I'm willing to take that risk 😈

Rereading parts of Eidolon and learning about how the Hand of Mysteries seemed to oppose the Hours (Horae Guards), it made me consider how 'aligned' White Hawk is with the ideologies of his own faction. His power-hungry opportunistic nature aside, I do think White Hawk does mean what he says that he thinks the current state of Elysium Station is terrible with the elitism going on up there, and what we've speculated about the Ladder being an enormous power conductor where people living there are more likely to get metahuman powers.

Honestly another part of this is we don't know what the Horae Guards are, other than being the so-called guardians of Elysium Station. We know what White Hawk's agenda is, but does that necessarily align with his faction's? And considering part of the formation of Crusade was due to Faust, there was definitely a lot of under-the-table deals that went through there. While the formation of Crusade definitely benefits the Mysteries, I feel like this might not be their preferred first resort.

Olympus has Fallen (AP 2, ESPIONAGE 4, REPUTATION 6, OPERATIONS 4): Of all the heroic teams in Horizon, Global Justice fared perhaps the worst in the QZ. No loss was more significant than Justicar, their leader whole single-handedly kept the Foot of the Ladder under control. Justicar's death has plunged the area beneath your feet into anarchy and it's not clear help is coming anytime soon. They are now led by Stockpile, an Algernon-type hero who, notably, is nineteen years old. That he's in charge does not bode well to how many of their members survived. No wonder he's willing to pay you just to speak with him.
Lady Leizi: Global Justice is down to three metahumans: Stockpile, Plasticity, and Perspective. Plasticity and Perspective have powers built around enhancing others while Stockpile is a very young Algernon-type. Global Justice has held the line with their non-metahuman security forces, but the writing is on the wall. The people who live in the Foot are flooding AGL with demands for increased metahuman security daily, but it seems the Americans are considering cutting their losses. Dominion and, interestingly enough, Ọsanyìn have been heavily increased their advertising in the Foot in recent days accordingly. Finally, Stockpile's offer of funding is genuine—it appears to be his personal life savings. He's yet to be seen in public without an extensive escort from AGL, when he is seen at all.
(Chance of new metahuman DNA, Income +2000, Chance of eventually recruiting Stockpile, Intel about why Justiciar was at the QZ, Unlocks Foot of the Ladder as territory for Justice Unlimited) [1 Turns Until Expiration]
Looking back at the description of Olympus Has Fallen, it was clear that Dominion had an agenda at the Foot even before we found out what they were doing in the Fill-in Issue PREVAIL. The way it was described here makes it seem like they were just making a simple powergrab that's about to be left by the American's wake. In fact, I'm starting to think that was exactly their intention before Justice Unlimited exposed Faust and Scarlet Maturity, thus ruining Dominion's reputation.

Despite how intimidating this Illuminati-like group came off initially and how prepared they were with their responses towards us, I legitimately think we put them at a back foot here by doing what we did in Faustian. I feel like it's not just a simple matter of "Justice Unlimited just showed they can't easily be bruteforced even with Scarlet Maturity, one of the most powerful metahumans around." Like let's think of it this way: How would Faust have handled negotiations being done in the Foot had Scarlet Maturity still been around? Does Dominion still need Crusade when they still have a bunch of boosted metahumans at their beck-and-call, plus Scarlet Maturity? They really don't; had Black Swan not shown the world how utterly broken she is, Dominion would've just attempted to bully us through show of force.

By pulling Scarlet Maturity and "Faust" out of the picture, it would've utterly put Dominion in a severe disadvantage in negotiating power among big super corporations like AGL, Osanyin, and apparently the Horae Guards. Thus I think the Mysteries had no choice but to secede a bit of the initiative to their rivals. Of course this does not mean they didn't do some stirring; the Uiara video was definitely from them, in addition to name-dropping 'Project Prometheus', which I feel like this was partly what directed the 4 factions to group together and formed Crusade. Each group I think probably had varying opinions of Valiant Silver supposedly being responsible for the Movement and apparently managing to pull power from the Leviathan, as claimed by the Uiara in the video. Now take this into consideration what we've speculated before about the Ladder's purpose, which among several corporations, including Osanyin, I feel like Horae Guards would be concerned about this the most considering Elysium Station, a part of the Ladder, is their jurisdiction.

What I'm basically trying to say here is that there is definitely a lot of "allies of conveniences" going on here, with each faction performing a lot of showboating. They're the sort, I feel, who wouldn't hesitate to stab yesterday's ally in the back at a moment of weakness should they think they could gain something from it. I think it's probable that the other factions know that Dominion is up to something, but they teamed up together with them nonetheless cause 1) the bait they offered is too juicy to pass up and 2) precisely because they were put in a weaker position, they might've figured they could take care of them anytime. At least that's the mentality I'm parsing from this. And so the different factions agreed to band together, including the Americans who were initially planning to bail out according to Rhys.
"As ever," Moon-over-Crown says, "Dominion's pillars cannot remain secret any longer. If we do not reveal them, then Lady Leizi will. To that end, I've reached out to the Americans and Allied Global Logistics. You'll see the announcement in the coming days."

"They're cooperating?" Star says, "How unexpected."

"Yes," Moon-over-Crown agrees, "However, after their sacrificial dragnet of Justiciar turned up nothing but your genuinely ignorant predecessor, they're desperate. King grows ever closer to his quarry. It seems he has help now as well. The Interlocutor has grown more cunning as well—no doubt using who it took from the QZ—but it's only a matter of time before it is pinned down."
(A bit of a non sequitur but rereading this now and knowing about the likely current status of Nora, Yazmin, and Towarri, I think we can say who has who in this scenario: Nora's with the Interlocutor, Yazmin's with Hand, and Towarri the Americans, tho I wouldn't be surprised if she's under the Mysteries' jurisdiction now.)

I think I want to bring up how in a normal situation, the Americans leaving would've been convenient for everyone in the vicinity, including Dominion; a rival faction seceding territory would've mean it'd be up for grabs for people in power; It's why Osanyin and Dominion were quick to move. However in the current situation, it's actually more convenient for the Mysteries to have the Americans around. With the Americans around, they get the resources and expertise of an Algernon-type, a bit of manpower (even if it's just regular soldiers), a half-dead "predecessor", and a convenient decoy to hide behind.

To explain what I mean by "decoy", I want to bring up again how the Hand of Mysteries seem to be in opposition of the Hours. The Horae Guards might not be all that aware of it, considering the former's practically the Illuminati, but there's seems to be this sort of opposition from the Mysteries towards them. Yet in order to take care of an inconvenience called Justice Unlimited, the Mysteries decided to facilitate an arrangement between the different corporations and factions for a group project called Crusade. I am of the belief that more heads into this project helps with being covert and avert attention away from themselves. According to Socialite Butterfly, Jair seems to looking for opportunities to form a more solid connection towards the Horae Guards, or to be more specific, Elysium Station, the home to the elite. To compensate, Dominion took advantage of the American's desperation for power and successes, and brought them into the project as well, incentivizing them to stay around.

Anyways, I'm tired now, and I've spent 6 hours staring at this screen writing this post (I'm not exaggerating) when I'm supposed to be asleep by now. My overall point is that the enemy isn't as united as they may seem, there's a lot of things we don't know about the Horae Guards, and the Mysteries is definitely on the backfoot enough to be spending significant amount of resources towards us. And that is a good thing despite how bleak it can be.

Happy New Year, everyone 😴

I could be wrong, but I don't think enhanced senes factor into telepathy. To my understanding enhanced senses are "traditional" senses being given greater detail or range, whereas telepathy is an alternate method of perception all together and thus, clairvoyance. The reason so many synergies have clairvoyance is because they defacto grant their users new senses.
Before I drop dead to sleep tho, you are definitely correct in that clairvoyance is associated with the sixth sense, one pertaining to extra sensory perception (ESP), thus enhanced senses would relate more to the five common senses. However, similar to how Enhanced Strength is linked to Telekinesis to add to the "strength of mind to will the world to move", I think Enhanced Senses, the sharpening of senses, extends its enhancement towards the sixth sense as well. Of course this is mere speculation, and I could easily be wrong as well; True Telepathy could just require 3x Clairovoyance and 2x Mental Manipulation for all we know. But I'm operating on previous examples of there being 3 different keywords, and to me, Enhanced Senses seem like it makes the most amount of sense.

Alright, now I'm falling asleep this time.

I'm really really really fucking torn on what I want our next Fill-In to be about. Because Flight of the Bumblebee will probably end up touching on what happened between White Hawk and Belle (if our theory that the rung-trash helped the Defiance Unit get to Elysium but WH stabbed them in the back to join the Horae Guard is correct), as well as what the on-station Horae Guard were like, as well as, yunno, the whole "how did Scarlet Maturity kill Apiary" question.
