I had a thought while falling asleep that maybe the resulting power from CAT would include the opposite of Justiciar's. Something like...

"Benediction: All thinking creatures not named Kaitlyn English must hold on to the will to live. Reward: immunity to pain."

"Benediction: All thinking creatures not named Kaitlyn English must care for people besides Kaitlyn English. Reward: healing of all injuries."

I can't help but think that Justiciar's power set is so deeply thematic: she could only discourage crimes and half-killed herself in the process of enforcing punishments.

No encouragements for good behavior. Peace through fear.

The exact a quirk of how these powers will gel via Dynamite gives the possibility for something fun. However, it requires you committing to something now.

There been a lot of talk of making Yara a psychic, or eventually giving her psychic abilities. Will you commit to doing that in the future now? You would still vote on her powers as normal whenever you empower her, but she must have [True Telepathy] at a minimum. Any builds that don't have that—or something equivalent—will be vetoed.

In exchange for losing this flexibility, we'll roll a d6. I'll put six unknown synergies in a table (all of which would be relevant for a psychic) and I'll reveal one to you at random.

Or, you can refuse, which is totally fine too!

Hmm, cool. Well... we were already talking at length about how she'd be a good match for a telepath... Fuck it, full send it.

…. Could someone explain to me why we're trying to build a psychic? It seems… odd.
why do you need so many "…"? You're not me after all. :V

More seriously, an actual psychic will help counteract bullshit like Mr. Whaa, help us get up to speed with the conspiracies surrounding The Stage, and maybe help us with the R-Train. Homer (our other T10 who we get from Trilogy) will be our bruiser.

Black Swan's our biggest stick but she has a fatal weakness to psychic attacks. Having a psychic of our own is one step towards covering that vulnerability.

That, and we know the Mysteries have a bunch of psychics watching us when we're outside the Apiary, so catching them in the act or having a powerful enough psychic to shut that down will go a long way towards keeping our espionage game up.

Lastly, Leviathan and all the lore around it is psychic in nature. Having a psychic of our own will help uncover and interact with those mysteries.

...oh, Benedictions would be SO COOL.

I can't believe that somebody asked one question about the half-unspoken voting plans and we all immediately jumped in with 5 different answers. Never change guys.

In theory it could help with protecting Black Swan, our enemies have a number of strong psychics and being able to fight on that front is important (and more easily notice when spying on us), and frankly psychics and how they interact are majorly baked into the setting.

We need more frontliners for sure, especially once we can shift Handyman to more subterfuge in fighting. But Belle ideally being recruited, Song once we empower him, and Leizi having avenues to get stronger are at least helping this front so its less immediately necessary.

2) this doesn't seem to fit Yara very well. I think we should go with a bruiser for her.
A bruiser? For Yara? Yara?!

Roll the clip.

Yara gazes back into Stockpile's eyes, matching his gaze. She searches him for a long, long time, like a jeweler examining a gem for flaws. She picks him apart, seemingly without words.

DC 18.

Stat Check: REPUTATION 40. Justice Unlimited has REPUTATION 43.

You rolled: 8.

8 + 5 (Her Sworn-Sword Said No) + 5 (A Good Lunch with Good People) + 5 (Why Not Save Yourself?) = 23. Critical Success!
And finds him wanting.

"No," she says.

"No?" Stockpile says, rearing back, "Ms. Oliveira, please, reconsidered. You're frightened—"

"I know how I'm feeling, thank you," she says, "I appreciate your concern. I even believe that you believe what you say. But, I'm capable of making my own decisions. I will be joining Lady Leizi at the Apiary."

There is nothing here that doesn't say super empath. And Professor X was fucking awesome, put some respect on bro's name. Besides, Yara is prob gonna be able to fly as well if we give her Seraph, so…

Depends on the run honestly, he's been one of the most butchered X-Men fairly often.

And thinking on it, I'm pretty sure any Seraph build has Crimson Soprano and Mr. Hunch locked in for a double flying/energy/clairvoyance setup, while leaving 4 cost depending on what potential synergies people want to get from other psychic synergies and FFM.
