That is your interpretation. And I admit, I can see why you'd come to it, and in other circumstances I might be willing to try it.

But in these circumstances, I don't give a shit about how narratively satisfying it would.be to counter Justicar with Justicar. I just want Socialite Butterfly dead, and I consider Shutdown to be a better path to achieving that because his power doesn't have the reactive component Justicar's has. If we want narrative satisfaction, we can find it in the fact that Socialite worried to use Shutdown against is in this fight, and now we're doing something similar but better.
Hmm

[] Heaven Hunt
-[] Heavenly Astrologian
-[] Red Huntress
-[] Shutdown

RH wide powerset, HA bullshit sight powers and Shutdown anti powers.

I do think if we want to save everyone we need to kill the Justicar clone quick to rescend the order.

[ERROR: Selection Invalid.]
I told you all that the character choices at the start were all still "alive"!

Also, I was just about to suggest Apiary. Dynamite is the only time we'll be able to use her as a power source unaltered.

I'm thinking Apiary and Red Huntress, but I'm stuck between Heavenly Astrologer, Zeno and Justicar.

Because a self-replicating swarm of monsters that transform into deadlier forms the more dangerous their opponent is is a literal nightmare.

Hmm... Do we know if Justiciar was a telepath and that's how she used her powers? Or was she a pseudo-telepath with 'just' really strong Mental Manipulation?

Bitterman gives boosts for fitting thematic/narrative reasons. See: Red Guy vs Blue Guy.

Harper helping to take down her sister, and Ellie getting help from her mother beyond the grave seem like perfectly good reasons to add to the roll if you're that worried about a Nat 1.

As opposed to the poetic irony of turning her "Admirers"' powers against her?

I don't care that much about the dice, I just don't think theming is quite enough to completely ignore the giant flashing "everyone is about to die" warning signs.

You can argue for Red Huntress on thematic grounds, but again: not the last we'll be seeing of Dynamite.

We know that she had a Synergy we didn't know about. "Hypnotic Command" is my best guess. Something that can force people to act in specific ways. Justicar wasn't capable of straight mind control, after all, but "Do this or get punished" is close.

This isn't the last time we're going to be seeing Dynamite. And I would like to make the most broken/insta-win power for the situation possible, I just don't think the Heavenly Astrologian/Red Huntress combo is it right now.

(Also look at the status readouts of our entire team and tell me you wouldn't want medical support right now)
So what other powers do you want to combo with Indemnity? I feel like I'd want at least one beatstick power considering the catharsis of beating Socialite Butterfly, which makes me want HA no matter what.

I can accept putting RH aside though

You know it would be interesting to see how a physical based power would interact with Dynamite. It seems very reality warping-ish, so, something like Zeno, Lightstep, Man 'O War I'd be curious to see.

Not curious enough to change plans, but maybe for the future.

...for knowledge's sake: Unlike Project Prometheus, no keywords will be dropped, will they?

But if we throw something weak in there, like Hydrocity or Millions, it will absolutely get supercharged?

I like having Apiary as one of our slots, just because her+HA+Zeno works out. Yes, she needs time to build up. But with Zeno+HA, we can just alter the length of a second or eat the empty space separating us and SB.

Uhhhh, can we afford to play waiting game considering
"EDICT: ALL THINKING CREATURES NOT NAMED YARA OLIVEIRA OR KAITLYN ENGLISH MUST KILL THEMSELVES. PUNISHMENT: CONSTANT STIMULATION OF THE PAIN CENTERS OF THEIR BRAINS."
It's sorta why i want shutdown. We ourselves might be fine but what about others?

She didn't have this or anything like this. Her edicts were not at all self-enforcing.

All she had was the capacity to punish. That's why she needed an absurd surveillance system and a shit ton of drugs to be effective.
Bad wording: Nobody was "forced" to do anything, after all, but people knew what would happen if they did something, which acted as a deterrent. After all, her Edicts announced themselves in their head when they entered the area.

...a while back I checked and Mona mentioned that while there were more Edicts from Justicar from when she visited the Foot pre-Movement, but she forgot. Was that just Mona being a bit of a scatterbrain/being forgetful, or could Justicar's edicts wipe themselves from memory after you left the area?

Oh, I didn't know that...

I got an idea.

[] Plan: Poetic Justice
-[] Justiciar of Global Justice
-[] The Red Huntress of Justice Unlimited
-[] Seraph of the Horae Guard

True Telepathy plus whatever Justiciar had going on is probably one hell of a combination even if it doesn't result in a synergy. And Red Huntress has enough going on that, combined with Seraph's Clairvoyance and Element Manipulation, we might be able to get Telekinesis out of it, on top of whatever physical package a Potency 30 build has.

Also, these would all be very narratively cogent picks to finish off Socialite Butterfly. Seraph gets immediate vengeance, Red Huntress gets delayed justice, and Silvio gets saved by his former mentor.

Thinking about it Arc would probably be pretty good for this (conceptual reflection), but she's not actually dead.

I'm still running through the options but some sort of range extension/invulnerability field would be good. Maybe Zeno, as space-time manipulation opens up some useful options. I'm still not sure.

How many other heroes are there who are dead but whom we don't have samples for? Justicar, Indemnity, Shutdown, Mr Whaa, Seraph?

Oh fuck, those might actually be better picks for my personal "inflict Psychic Hell" combo. Seraph for if we want raw power, Mr. Whaaa for something a bit more twisted. I already said that Justicar would inflict rules, and Nox, drain her confidence away, but if Mr. Whaaa flipped on it's head and started erasing SB's own memories...

Loneliness, fear, and perspective...

I'm still probably going to go along with a Red Huntress/Justicar/Heavenly Astrologian-using set, but it's a fun thought experiment...

Ok, so, we need to kill justicar *now*, or perhaps get rid of her edicts. Did old justicar's edicts go away when she died? The main problem is whatever other bullshit defense SB has ready to prevent that. Zeno might be a good start, but it might also be too defensive.

Wait…

Can we create a justicar combo that can apply edicit: Socialite Butterfly must consider all other humans equal to her. Punishment: Instant Death.

Basically just take what she just did and throw it back in her face, only, you know, not fucking around.

Can I also just say that this whole segment reminded me an awful lot of how *Paris from Digital: A Love Story talks. Though he was a lot drier and more mechanical.
