I might have said this before, but that's a big flaw in our thinking, where we assume the result of A + B is just A+ B and not thinking of how it'll be remixed or modified.
Yes, because that's the most straightforward answer; if we take more outlandish "remixes" then a combo might do 10 different things. It's better to focus on the "goal" of the build than precise power interactions.

I am liking the Deadman story more and more. .add Soldier x.............
Okay these cover stories are beginning to become ridiculous.... Really think we should maybe concentrate on recruiting more non Promethean metahumans or recruiting the really young ones like Homer and /or Yara.

I've recently caught up on the quest. The premise is fantastic, and I regret not checking it out sooner. Pick of the month is well deserved.

If I could contribute to the Song build discussion, has anyone considered the following build?

Fast Track (Potency 3) + Daggermaw (Potency 1) + Soldier X (Potency 1) + Millions Minefield (Potency 1) = Total Potency 6

Keywords:
  • Self-Enhancement
  • Ally Empowerment
  • Enhanced Speed
  • Transformation
  • Enhanced Strength
  • Enhanced Senses
  • Fitness
  • Regeneration
  • Energy Manipulation

This is a long list of keywords with no repetition. However, I believe that shouldn't be a problem, given that the synergies seem to trigger and get added automatically as long as enough keywords are included.

Enhanced Speed, Enhanced Strength and Enhanced Senses must synergize into something overarching and more powerful, but since Lightstep had all three of them, more keywords are needed. My guess is it's Self-Enhancement or/and Fitness. Also, Fitness, Self-Enhancement, and maybe Transformation and Regeneration could synergize into age reversal (It is hard to achieve peak human physical capabilities when you are old).

Millions Minefield might seem like an odd addition, but he is in this build primarily because of his power description. His ability to absorb energy matches Fast Track's ability to steal speed, while the energy redirection aspect seems fitting for a martial arts-based character. Moreover, Daggermaw has an interesting detail about being able to "sense vibrations through his skin from great distances away", and I think that also has the potential to synergize with Energy Manipulation.

This build does not require Tolerance upgrades and focuses on enhancing Song's close-combat capabilities. Basically, giving him a thoroughly super-enhanced human body with aspects of energy absorption/manipulation/redirection (a Wuxia protagonist?). It doesn't include the Invulnerability keyword, but given the enhanced speed, Song's martial arts experience, the possibility of redirecting energy, and the presence of Doctor Silver on the team, will he need it? Moreover, I wouldn't focus on the Invulnerability keyword too much since all it gave Frostbite was armour, while Deadman didn't have it, and still, he could only be killed by goldnine.

Plan Ley Lines
Potency: 9

Chatroom (4)
Antaeus (3)
Millions Minefield (1)
Soldier X (1)

Keywords: Energy Manipulation x2, Invulnerability, Clairvoyance, Ally Enhancement, Regeneration, Fitness

Hey guys! Guess who got attached to the Antaeus+Chatroom idea! This plan is intended for either Shelley or Soraria (with one Spoonful). It's intended to make a mixture between a battlefield control specialist and a healer.

Chatroom and Antaeus connect in order to make a series of "roots" through the ground, which can erupt with stored energy (thanks Millions) at any time as long as they can target somebody psychically.

Soldier X combos with Millions in order to make a constantly refueling store of healing energy, which returns whoever's hit by it to either peak condition or makes them temporarily Invulnerable. So the person with this can act as either a field commander, a healer, or even maybe an energy generator for Mona. Simple but effective.

I also have a P13 version below— I think I'll be doing this for all my plans! One high tolerance version, one low tolerance. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.

Plan String Theory (Ley Lines+)
Potency: 13

Chatroom (4)
Antaeus (3)
Sewer Rat (3)
Millions Minefield (1)
Soldier X (1)
Daggermaw (1)

Keywords: Unknown Offensive Synergy, Energy Manipulation x2, Transformation x2, Invulnerability, Clairvoyance, Ally Enhancement, Self-Enhancement, Regeneration, Fitness

I wanted to move away from [Force Fields] with this one, so I went with the Wolong Special; the unknown synergy that seems like it could be offensive. (Which seems to be [Enhanced Strength]+[Enhanced Senses]+[Clairvoyance]) This one is closer to an alternate version of the Whitebeard plan mentioned earlier in the thread, focusing on battlefield control and DESTRUCTION.

Some interesting quirks of this include the fact that a. It's possible that we could get the scaled up version of the synergy, since Bitterman has stated that it can get better the more we throw into it. And b. It's also possible that if this one somehow keeps the healing/buffing elements, we can use the Transformation as a way to hide our hero's identity.

Man, so much for thinking we were on the upswing. "You're pretty good, you've got two potency 13 guys after all! Shame Monarch brought five"

There's admittedly also the whole Jojo rules thing, where one Potency 13 might be a lot more dangerous than another (Case in point, I'd bet on Valiant Gold against almost any other Metahuman in existence in a straight fight, and Black Swan was capable of scoring a kill on Scarlet Maturity as a two, three months experienced rookie), still, it's admittedly Concerning how many top tiers are apparently just sandbagging all the time, and how Monarch manages to wrangle all of these presumably strong personalities to follow her.

At least we managed to avoid getting flattened apparently, but goodness, what a mess this turned out to be.

Tbf, two of those are Algernon-types and one of them is a special case. Of everyone there, Black Swan is still the most powerful by far.

In terms of combat power, you've already exceeded the previous iteration of JU.

Yeah, at the end of the day, not all Potency 13s are equal, while Black Swan and Valiant Gold are both near the top of the scale, just grousing a bit.

That being said, a question comes to mind @Bitterman , did us at least trying to talk here before the negotiations broke down matter at all? For the better? For PR at least?

I will make the observation that, dummy that he may be, Stockpile is also here. He may hate JU and what we represent, but at least in a public setting like this, he must be seen to oppose Monarch.

Accounting for difficulty in coordinating and how he is working with stolen/repurposed tech, let's say we have 2.5 Potency 13s on our side.

We've already seen, the dude is perfectly happy starting a top level Metahuman battle in a funeral if he sees an enemy.

He isn't going to give a shit, he's firmly at "Tactics -7: Enemy Exists, Fight Now/Enemy Ready to Fight. Run At Enemy/Limits? Supplies? What?" level brilliance here.

It should be noted that JU in its original form punched impossibly far above its weight class. Like, we just learned that the number of dead metahumans or whatnot (can't remember the exact name they're called, but you know what I mean) was, like, high-200s?

Consider the "big forces" we've seen so far?

It is likely that well over half of all powered individuals died to Leviathan.

We're in a land of the one-eyed now, everyone's fighting over (and using) the scraps that remain after the whole is torn to bits.

So Maddie is down to 2 hp good thing she has symbiote for Hero Worship worst come to pass we cant have her Not join up in meet the rookies unfortunately since Rep Gain and Debate against Crusade

She hasn't taken damage. She's had Echidna up since Faustian.
O-O well damn. I guess it tracks since she hasnt really taken any damage since that point, but you would think that whats basically her super move would disperse by now. Although i guess her shadow creations do stay until destroyed...
